Kathi lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn't writing, Kathi likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese,) and garden (planting and planning not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she's not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing, the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home.
Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.

Kathi Daley has written another intriguing mystery set in Gooseberry Bay. I've read every book in this series and enjoyed every minute. Ms. Daley's descriptive writing has made each of the characters come alive in each book; and I honestly feel like I've come to know each one. There were several twists and turns in this book that kept me guessing until Ainsley and the gang pulled it all together. It was awesome that Ainsley finally got to meet her sister and made it the perfect ending to the book.

Sister Spy is the ninth book in Kathi Daley’s Cottage on Gooseberry Bay series. This action-packed book is an entertaining and clean read, with a strong emphasis on family, friends, community, and caring. The setting is charming, and the characters are well developed. Ms. Daley’s descriptive writing draws the reader in, making them feel like they’re taking part in the action. The complex mysteries in this installment encompass a stolen necklace, a possible murder victim, a missing person, lots of money, and the principal character’s quest to discover her past. The intriguing mysteries, twists, and red herrings will keep readers engaged and guessing. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading well-crafted cozies.

After Ainsley Holloway’s adoptive father passed away, she found a photograph of a woman with two young children, and, for reasons Ainsley couldn’t explain, she felt a connection to the people and started doubting her past. In her search for the truth about her past, Ansley and her two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Kai and Kallie, moved from Georgia to Washington State and rented a cozy cottage in Gooseberry Bay. Ainsley, who originally planned to stay for only a month or two, quickly made friends, settled into the community, and opened Ainsley Holloway Investigations.

In this installment, Ainsley’s newest client, Hildie Haverston, hires Ainsley to figure out who stole a valuable family heirloom during her deceased mother’s viewing. Ainsley and local newspaper reporter, Parker Peterson, join forces with their friends, Jemma Hawthorn and Josie Wellington, to solve the mystery of the stolen heirloom necklace and brainstorm about a story Parker is working on involving a possible sighting of a body floating in the bay. Skeet and the Geek Squad have been taking part in geocaching activities that quickly become intense.

Definitely a 5 star!

Ainsley and her friends are at it again!
Another clean and cozy mystery!
This one made me cry, hence the five stars...
Such a good group of people, hopefully they stick together and support each other during their trials.
Ainsley fits right in to the group and the small town, it's beginning to feel like home to her.
Her private investigator business continues with a new search.
Of course somebody finds a dead body, maybe...

Ainsley came to Gooseberry Bay in search of answers and wound up making it home. In this book, Archie is in charge of Skeet and the Geek Squad while Adam is out of town. Skeet and the others have been doing some geocaching and are invited to a special, by invitation only challenge. Ainsley is nervously waiting for a special visitor so she helps Parker with a story that has more twists and turns than a roller coaster.

I'm a huge Kathi Daley fan and have really enjoyed this series with this book being no exception. It's well-written with wonderful characters and a well-thought-out plot. I was drawn into this delightful tale and kept hooked as I read it in one sitting. The mystery is intriguing and will keep you on your toes. I loved this book and am looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most benefit and enjoyment.

The main character of this book is Ainsley. She lives in a cute cottage in Gooseberry Bay and is a PI. There were a few mysteries in need of solving in this book. Daley typically does that in her books (a read a few of her series). I like this because even though there is typically a murder that Ainsley gets involved in solving…which is like many Cozy mysteries I read by other authors…Daley adds in another few mysteries, too.

There was a murder, a wallet with a lot of cash that was found on the shore, a body a lady saw floating face down in the water that vanished just as quickly - so quickly that she wasn’t sure she’d even seen a body at all, and Ainsley’s sister she was separated from when they were small children. There was also a missing heirloom necklace worth a fortune and a secret society. But Daley doesn’t make all of this seem overwhelming. All of the questions are intriguing.

One part in the book was Ainsley being lowered down by helicopter through a child sized opening in a cliff in order to help pull a woman out who had fallen and was unconscious. The woman was pulled up to safety, but Avery had to stay behind since there was only one rope. Avery lost her footing off the side of the cliff from crumbling rocks and was able to grab onto a dead tree root just before falling to her death.

As she’s hanging on, this happens… “‘Ainsley,’ I heard someone say from just above me. I knew I needed to focus all my attention on hanging on, but I couldn’t help but look up. ‘Avery?’”

I admit it - I bawled. Tears fell to my cheeks. Avery. From the very first book in this series, Ainsley has searched for her long lost sister she was separated from when she was about 4 years old and Avery was about 1. The entire series began with Ainsley and a picture of a small child holding another child. Ainsley knew the picture was familiar, but she didn’t know why and didn’t know who the people were or where it was taken. Then the Gooseberry Bay plot thickened and here we are 9 books into this 11 book series and Avery is finally here! Rescuing her sister! I felt like I finally had closure and was able to release my tears of happiness. Oh joy.

Now I’m onto the next. Book 10 is Twist of Fate. My hope is that Teghan and Booker work through their differences and that Ainsley and Adam finally make it official!

The original reason Ainsley moved to Gooseberry Bay was to found out more about the family she thought she had. this is the 8th book in the series and were are finally waiting for her reunion with her sister. Meanwhile Ainsley was hired to find a valuable family necklace that was stolen from a deceased relative in her casket! And she was wrapped up in solving what happened to a body floating in the bay. I still really enjoy thus series. Kathi Daley always presents a unique mystery or two in each of these books

Sister Spy

There are a lot of mysteries wrapped up in those entertaining cozy mystery plus the conclusion and beginning of several characters current life chapters. Like they say, when one chapter ends another begins.

Ainsley is still waiting for her sister to contact her and keeping busy with her friends, the Geek Squad, Adam (keeping my fingers crossed for romance), and her private investigation business. Everyone seems to have a part to play in solving the mysteries and making sure the guilty are brought to justice.

A good way to spend an evening, reading and solving a mystery.

Another Intriguing Mystery by Kathi Daley

I love this series it's full of surprises and intrigue. It's so refreshing to have an amazing experience with a new book by a favorite author. A good, clean, grown up story that didn't make me feel like I was in high school. No bickering or tingling because a great looking guy touched your finger. Lol. I loved the way that this story had a lot of different mysteries for Ainsley to solve. All of the wonderful characters were there to help investigate and bring it to an exciting conclusion. You might even say death defying.

We are back in Gooseberry Bay with Ainsley and her friends. Ainsley is eagerly awaiting news of her Sister who she has found after they were separated in their early years.

To keep her busy in the meantime, she takes on the task of finding a missing necklace which disappeared after the viewing of a body at the funeral directors. Is this linked to the discovery of a body in the water which also went missing until later? It's certainly a strange case to keep her occupied til she hears about her Sister.

I really enjoy books by this talented author, her Cozy Mystery books are addictive. Often the series are linked and are a spin off from an earlier series, this one is a spin off from the Inn at Holiday Bay series. If you like this book, try some of the other series by Kathi Daley, they're all as good. I warn you though, you'll find them hard to put down.

As with most book series, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

Ainsley first came to Gooseberry Bay in search of answers about her biological family. What she didn't realize is that Gooseberry Bay would help fill the void she was feeling in her life: friends that are like family. In book 9 of the series, Ainsley is hired to help find a family heirloom that was stolen at the funeral home. While she is on the hunt for the heirloom, she is entangled in another mystery of a floating body in the bay. The friends ban together to help solve the mysteries and make new memories.

Friends and family

Whenever I visit with Ainsley and her friends, I share the ups and downs of friendships and relationships. There’s always a mystery to keep me engaged. It’s great to keep up with the situations that change in peoples lives. It’s interesting to watch who comes and goes in the town. These characters are family and friends and I enjoy visiting with them in each book.

Sister Spy: Cottage on Goosebery Bay is the 9th book in the series by Kathi Daley. In this book Ainsley Holloway finally finds her sister's family but there is murder that has taken precedence. Who killed the body in the floating in the bay? And to top off Adam is out town so Ainsley is checking on "The Geek Squad" too. But the way Ainsley meets Avery is pricesless! I love each and every books that Kathi Daley has written I can't wait for the next book in this sweries!

Dead on mystery

This book starts with an expensive necklace being stolen off a corpse during a private viewing/wake. Then a dead body is seen floating by a woman but by the time the police arrive the body has disappeared. What a start. From there Winslet and the gang look into both mysteries that keep the reader guessing until the thrilling conclusion. Another winner by Kathi Daley.

A necklace missing off a dead woman, a body seen floating in the bay that disappears, and Ainsley finally getting her chance to meet her long-lost sister Avery all make for an exciting book in the Gooseberry Bay series. There were even a few happy tears for Ainsley and Avery getting their chance to reconnect.

Good book. Lots going on.

Aside from finding her baby sister, lots of other things are happening in this Gooseberry Bay experience. As a new case leads into additional detective work concurrent with the Geek Squad getting involved in a questionable competition, this book keeps the reader totally involved.

I can´t get enough of this series! The more I read the more I want to read. It is addictive in a good way. Wonderful characters, a cozy town, dogs and cats, a lot of food, and neighbors who are family. Each book has a different mystery to solve and is so well-written that the story improves. I have no words to explain how good the book is. Can I give you a piece of advice? read it.

Sister, sister

What a ride this story was. So many mysteries to solve which all somehow connected and a real "cliff hanger" near the end kept me mesmerized. Can't wait till the next book comes out.

Sisters

So glad Ainsley finally found Avery, or should I say Avery found her. I hope that the series continues since the original goal to find her sister. I love the way the friends have become family of sorts for each other.

Not as good as the others. Three things as usual: a theft, a murder, and a tragedy. The theft and murder are linked and the tragedy is used to engineer, incredibly in my opinion, the meeting of Ainsley and her sister Avery.

Quick read

Cute story but there were loose ends left hanging. Too many story lines going on in such a short book. I enjoyed the read but don't know if I'll read another one in the series.

I really have liked all of these books. They’re easy reads/cozy mysteries but the ending where sister just shows up out of nowhere with no back story given while other sister is just dangling life threateningly from a cliff was a bit lazy in my opinion but ok

She has her home and alot happens there

This one had some major issues with a jewelry piece that was stolen. So much more went on besides this. Then the end we have the best part happen. Ok 2 best things. But it's at the end.
