Passade så klart på att läsa den. Visste inte att the ruby slippers egentligen var the silver slippers, men att det skulle se mer slående ut i Technicolor med glitterröda.

The Wizard of Oz is one of my most favourite films to the point I've seen it hundreds of times (no lie!) and this version of the book is a very poor imitation imo. It's weird really usually I prefer the books but I read The Wizard of Oz (not this Ladybird version) a few years ago and much preferred the film then too. Oh well🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Of all my Ladybird Well-Loved Tales books and accompanying cassettes, this was my favourite. Of course it was - I loved EVERYTHING to do with Wizard of Oz (and still do). This adaptation seemed quite lengthy compared to other Ladybird tales and kept quite faithful to the original. The illustrations are stunning and the front cover featured on my 5th AND 6th birthday cakes!

I still have the book, I only wish the cassette hadn't worn out from being played to death!
