I won this Kindle Edition. I read it to my granddaughters. They loved it. What a cute idea having the little boy become a monster as he destroys the house and then blames the monster for the mess.
We will be reading this boy frequently.

A funny rhyming story that is really good for reluctant readers especially boys.

I won this book through Goodreads' First Reads. It shows out of control emotions as a monster, I hope that parents would use it as a way to discuss that feelings are valid, but don't mean you can act however you want.

I received a copy of the book via a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. And my honest review is, I'm not impressed. The plot, if it's a plot, starts with a not so nice kid who creates a terrible mess. Then he tries to lie about it in that charming toddler way. And then his mom, in an example of infinite parental patience, feeds him. That's it. No resolution of the conflict. And it is a conflict, between a little brat and a patient parent. Though do kids that never get punished try to blame imaginary monsters? I'm not sure, they have no reason to.
And also, rhymes that don't quite rhyme are an exercise in frustration.

I received this ebook in a giveaway in exchange for my honest opinion. The concept for this children's book was nice but I had some issues with the execution. The rhymes did not all in fact rhyme, which is problematic for trying to teach a child rhyming. I also did not like that the lesson seemed to be that a child can run amuck and destroy things with no consequences or parenting. The illustrations were nice, but ultimately this book will not make a repeat appearance at story time.

The Minister did it
I read this book to my five year old great grandson, because he put a chip bag under granddad’s chair instead of putting it in the garbage. I was hoping that it would be a lesson for him being the monster when he visits. Great book for today 01/17/2026.
Thank you

Cute story. I think we have all experienced this kind of monster in our lives. You may have seen it in yourself or anyone around you.

Such a cute story
This book tells a fun story about a little boy throwing a temper tantrum. His mom takes care of him, calms him down, and helps him get back to his happy self.

I remember those years when my kids used their walls as canvases. Thank goodness for washing markers and crayons. I'm not sure about associating "monster" with a behaving children, but kids (oftentimes) blame others for mistakes, particularly little ones. They like to place the blame on siblings and pets.
