The Infinity Between Us

I will eat up friends to strangers to lovers EVERY MF TIME and this one was no different!!
Whenever I start a friends to strangers to lovers book, I obviously know what to expect. They’re close, then something happens that tears them apart, then they reconnect. Bonus that its a summer romance (coughcough, LAOW, PWMOV, TSITP, every summer after ❤️)
If you loved those books, this is gonna be a book for you!
It’s easy to fall in love with Will and Violet, and you get to see how they fall in love with each other. Violet going on a date, Will waiting up for her. The thunderstorm sleepover. Being there for each other.
There’s a few parts while reading that made me think emotions in the scenes were shifting too abruptly. One second they’re fine and happy, the next, the past gets brought up and they go back to trying to steer clear of each other. I wouldn’t say there are lulls in the story, but I did find myself skimming some (so that’s probably a me problem).
AAAAND I made theories on what tears them apart and I always feel like a genius whenever my theories turn out to be right so pat me on the back 🤗
It’s overall very sweet and will give you the longing and ache of friends to lovers and I can’t wait to see how her writing further develops in future books!! 💓

super cute! but i knew i would love this because i will ALWAYS adore second chance romances with childhood sweethearts.
i think the present day chapters are done well, but i felt like the past ones were lacking. had they included flashbacks of multiple summers, rather than just the one, i would have really grown to love will and violet more.
so not quite perfect, but pretty darn close!

I am so emotional wth. Why did I cry so much?
This is a friends to strangers to lovers book and I definitely got "the summer i turned pretty" and "every summer after" vibes but in a good way.
Both Will and Violet were good characters. I liked their personalities and I could see the chemistry between them and why they fell in love. I think they are a great couple and they are (if you ignore the rest of the history that surrounds them) a really wholesome and sunshine couple which is a rarity.
The overall plot of the book was good but the reveal was pretty clear from the beginning. There were a lot of hints and little sentences that made me realise right away what happened 5 years ago. I think there should have been a bit less of the foreshadowing just to make the surprise a bit better and maybe cut out those and replace them with more past moments.
I still really liked the construction of the past vs present and liked how the characters had changed in certain ways but I wish it was a bit longer just so we could have more focus on the healing plot line.
However, I still bawled my eyes out even though I knew what the reveal was going to be. I get emotional easily so I was probably the only one that cried but these things always make me so sad. Not for the main characters but for the side characters that obviously do not have their own section in the book where we hear about their healings.
Also: this was funny to me but Violet said smth about Rory Gilmore in this book and it just made me happy that we have the same opinions.

🩷₊˚⊹♡ violet + will were best friends, spending summers together, sharing heartfelt memories, and being together for what felt like infinity. they begin to realize how in love they are with each other but not too long before disaster strikes, breaking the two apart for what seemed to be for good. however, as both violet and will meet up at the beach house they spent their childhood summers in years later, they begin to reconcile and they realize that of all unsure and disastrous things, their love remains infinite.

📖₊˚⊹♡ i will say i think a common pattern for a lot of second chance romances is that the past chapters always are so much better. the chemistry was just there and i adored them as childhood best friends so much so that was definitely my favorite part. them hanging out at the beach, trusting each other, talking about infinity, ahhhhh too cute 💗💌

I didn’t realize it before, but once I was with them, I expected their hair to smell like your strawberry shampoo and their hugs to feel like yours and their laughter to sound like yours. I was looking for you in every girl I met.” His thumb brushes against my parted lips. “But there’s no other you, Violet. You’re it for me.”
🧸₊˚⊹♡ i also know a lot of people said they predicted the plot twist, or i guess the disaster, but although i had a general idea, it was actually a lot more complex and heartbreaking than i expected. i will say i think violet was resisting will so much more than she should've, and it bothers me so much when characters waste time trying to convince themselves they aren't in love!! just make a move like life is short and we can't spend 90% of the book waiting for you ☹️💗
i also can't move on from the fact that they were forced to talk again because violet clogged the toilet. i mean i guess it was supposed to be relatable but she made it sooo awkward and i was dying the whole time reading it 😭 (new fear unlocked)

If you are looking for a good summer romance, this book is for you. This book is childhood friends to lovers and second chance romance which is my literal fav tropes. It was overall a heartbreaking yet beautiful story.

Things I loved about this book (besides absolutely everything):-
- Will going to sleep on the floor of V’s bedroom when there’s a thunderstorm😭.
- Will plunging her poop for her. Now if that’s not love idk what is.
- Violet snuggling her face against Will’s hand, calling him her “hewo” and telling him he’s a real work of art all while drugged up on pain meds post-wisdom tooth removal.
- Will asking “Are you okay? What do you need from me?”. The man said WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME. Just perfection. I love him.
- Violet taking Will lobster fishing for his birthday🦞.
- SKINNY DIPPING.

Well, it appears I'm gonna need to find another book for tomorrow as I finished this in a 5-hour sitting where I got up once.
Oops.
Ok so this is not a perfect book, but it was addictive!
3.5 ~
The story is a second-chance romance, where the two main characters co-own a home in a way. The MMC was so cute, he was the fighting force and was also patient with her. But you should know he is involved with others while thinking about our main girl (this is said a few times and pissed me off). The FMC is a little lost, a little depressed? I like her learning disability representation! that was a nice addition. She is quick to judge and dismiss the actions of people around her. Basically, she is working on herself (or in other words, she was annoying some of the time).
As this is a second-chance romance we know they were involved in the past. We get chapters about the past as we progress in the present and we don't know what broke them apart the 1st time until the very end (there was a very tiny foreshadowing moment at the start).
There was a lot more in it than I anticipated.
Generally, I had fun reading it and highlighted a bunch of stuff (as evident by my updates).
Oh, and it's also the author's first book? would be interesting to read her newer stuff.

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL STORY AND WILL & VIOLET HAVE MY HEART❤️
Since this is a childhood friends to lovers with second chance romance. Much likely like Love & Other Words but with more The Summer I Turned Pretty vibes.
I loved this story. I cried a lot and found that the reason that they didn’t talk to each other very juicy but sad at the same time. The only reason is why .8 is because I wanted a little more depth and a lot more conversation between Violet and Will about what happened. It was much more about forgiveness, which is understandable and sometimes you didn’t know the ugly truth but as a reader I wanted to know.
Wish I got to know a little bit more about Violet brothers, Ollie and Jensen like we knew about Samantha, Will sister. The introduction of the characters was a bit overwhelming but then it makes sense.
The writing was spectacular. I was never bored :)
PS: I’m seeing like a norm with these friends to lovers that something happens that they don’t talk and they get back together. I know every story and reason is different but as a reader, it can get tiring. Tried to space out these books for better enjoyment.

the starting was boring ngl. i was really struggling the first ~20%. and it would be better if we get more details and background before violet and will’s meeting in the present.
the best thing was the past chapters. they were super cute and wholesome. you know, childhood friends to lovers plus the beach house? and all this jealousy and realization about their feeling? so good and i loved it.
and then there were present chapters. they were boring as hell till the end. the main reason it’s because it was a single pov. but i would like it and it would be okay if i liked the female character enough to not be bored:/
the female mc was really pissing me off in the present chapters. and i was excusing her behavior when i didn’t know the main drama, cause i thought maybe it will explain all these rude things she said. spoiler: it didn’t.
i HATE that violet made the whole situation about herself. girl, i can understand that it’s really traumatic experience. and i can understand, that when this things happens u can’t think straight. but damn it was 5 years. why 5 years later she still couldn’t comprehend, that she wasn’t the only one who was hurting. plus will didn’t do anything terrible and incorrigible to treat will the way violet did. he was a teenager who was trying to make things right. it was his fucking family and he did what he was told to do. everyone would do the same thing. he really fast understood his mistake and tried to made it up for violet. but no. he still a villain and she was treating him like he ruined her life. good job:) and i was hurting for will’s sister sam as well. she also didn’t deserve violet’s treatment at all.
but this book, even with violet as the main character, was still entertaining, and i really liked the summer vibes.
definitely recommend like a quick summer read:P

the story follows two timelines, the past and the present. Violet (fml) is on her way to the summer beach house with the intentions to sell it and to her surprise Will (mmc) is also there. They were best friends but 5 years ago tragedy happen and separated both families. But Will isn’t there to sell the house he wants to repair it. So Will suggests to Violet to stay the summer and make her change her mind on selling it and if by the end of the summer she still wants to sell the beach house then she can.

this book reminds me of ‘the summer i turned pretty’ x ‘every summer after’ (even though i hated both these books this reminded me of them)
i did guess the reason for the fallout / twist on chapter 3.
It’s pretty obvious but i thought there was gonna be more when it was revealed. so the build up to it was good but it also felt like it was for nothing.
ps- the smut caught me off guard i thought this was young adult 😭

where to start 😮💨 well homegirl needs a hug and a lot of therapy. not even trying to be funny but she’s been through a lot. with a loss of a family member, the anger she feels, and struggling to find what she wants to do with the rest of her life career wise.
ngl she was kinda petty for keeping that grudge for 5 years but honestly I would’ve done the same. 😂 but then being stuck in the house with Will she was ready to break within a week 😭 like if you’re gonna hold a grudge no matter how petty stick to it 😭😭😭 like you stuck out for 5 years no way you’re about to break within a week of seeing him.

I have no thoughts my mind is lowkey blank. I did however loved how he was willing to win Violet back from what happened.

i love violet and will so much. i loved seeing their relationship from the past and it coming into their present relationship. everything was written perfectly and made the journey of reading so fun going from the present to past and vice versa. i read this book in almost one sitting because i HAD TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! the suspense was real. but overall, i loved seeing will and violet reunite after being away from each other. they were so sweet and genuine and beautiful, i am in love with them🥹

я й не здогадувалась, що в процесі читання мені намагатимуться розбити серденько 🥺 насправді більшу частину часу я була в повному комфорті з цією історією. навіть незважаючи на болючі моменти, це було прекрасно.
літня атмосфера маленького містечка біля океану, дві близькі сім'ї з дітьми, котрі розділяють пляжний будинок і кожне літо проводять разом. така легкість і безтурботність 🌅
минуле вайолет та вілла - миле, веселе, тендітне і романтичне. їх коханнячко - чудовий приклад тропу від друзів до закоханих. ще й вілл займається плаванням, та це взагалі чіт-код для мене, щоб розтанути від цього хлопця ☺️
а на противагу - теперішнє через 5 років, де гг знову випадково зустрічаються в пляжному будинку, але вже як незнайомці один для одного, і все через трагедію минулого. ця інтрига, що сталося з мамою вайолет та їхніми сім'ями, підживлювала цікавість до кінця. полюбляю подібні моменти 🤓
такий різкий контраст між минулим і теперішнім - в характерах гг, в настрої та атмосфері навколо. і ця аналогія, як вілл намагається врятувати та відремонтувати будинок - так само, як він хоче оживити їхні почуття 🥹
уф, які тут емоції та трошки гойдалок. під кінець я вже хотіла рвати на собі волосся від того, як у них не виходило прояснити усю ситуацію, не вистачало терпіння, і вони продовжували робити боляче одне одному 💔

this was an absolute cringe fest. i usually don’t find romances to be “cheesy” but this was just not good. i was giving it the benefit of the doubt and then she clogged the freaking toilet. like am i being punked rn? i definitely seem to be in the minority on this one.
i am a sucker for second chance romances set at a vacation home, but this was lacking in every single department.
this was all tell and no show. like okay, you say they’re best friends but where is that? we only got that one summer when they were 17. it would have been stronger to see their development from childhood friends to lovers.
the present chapters were just a whole lot of nothing. i can’t remember one important part and i just finished the book five minutes ago. literally all that sticks out is him unclogging her toilet. i just can’t. there’s MUCH better ways to break the ice.
it was pretty obvious what happened, and i truly did not care. like yep you’re actually trash. if my mom did that to me OR my dad. it’s on sight.

i LOVED young violet and will but ngl violet in the present timeline was a bit unbearable and i feel like her character development just very suddenly happened in the last twenty or so pages of the book

If you enjoy reading Second Chance or Friends to Lovers romance stories then this book is for you.
The main characters Will and Violet were such good characters who you warm to straight away. The chemistry between them is really felt throughout the storyline which I enjoyed.
I honestly wasn’t expecting this to be an emotional read, but at different points, I was grabbing for a tissue. This is a compelling romance novel with depth that would be perfect for reading over the Summer holidays. Highly recommended.

Okay I’m going to start with the safety of the main couple.
They were childhood friends to lovers to “enemies” to stranger to acquaintances to friends to lovers.
They have been with other (7 others girls for him. 4 of them sex. 3 of them fool around. 2 girlfriend. But thinks of h but he touch himself. She has kissed OM but nothing more) No on page any scene with others. All of this before nothing romantically happens between them.
There are two separations. After giving her v card to H something happens that have nothing to do with h and H but have something to do with their families. She is in her lowest and he left her for his family. I understand until certain point but I needed more info. They don’t talk during 5 years. Both with others during those five years. But she didn’t come with any of the OM. Roll eyes. They reunited but because one of them wants to sell their beach house and the other doesn’t. He was the one who fucked up and I don’t know if what he did is consider grovel. I want to say yes. He is for her during those 8 weeks that they are going to spend together. So they start to hang out and all that and then they start to be friends again and finally lovers.
The second separation comes when his dad appears at the beach house and she experience some ptsd (imo) he left her (AGAIN) and they spend 3-4 days apart. Then she goes to him to grovel for not being able to forgive and forget easier. Lol
Here’s the thing. I don’t want tod spoiler the reason why the separate (unless you want to know) but I think it made sense until it didn’t. If we would have had his pov or more info about what happened during that time I would have understand why he didn’t search her before. He texted her and called her weeks after the incident asking for forgiveness but that’s it. Why he didn’t go to find her? He had other girlfriends during both times. He should have fight for her more both times (imo) or at least if we had more info I would have understand him better.
We don’t have closure with the incident. To many questions without answers.

Шось останнім часом мені попадаються книги з дуже поганим « другим шансом»
Ця книга не виняток, при читанні в мене було стільки емоцій і всі вони погані 😩
Почну з того що мені було дуже нудно, великий обсяг розділи поділені на минуле і теперішнє в таких випадках мені завжди було цікавіше читати про минуле, дуже цікаво спочатку було що там в них сталось
Але тут дуже довго аворка це все тягнула, аж дуже довго і від того було ще гірше, бісило мене страшно оце «в минулого шось сталось але я буду тримати інтригу 98% книги»🤦🏿♀️ну ви серйозно?
Стільки разів про це згадувалось, і так важко написати шо це
Мені просто було шкода Вілла, бо здалось що Вайолет шось собі придумала і розірвала стосунки на 5 років 🤦🏿♀️
Шкода що розділи тільки від її лиця
Бачила багато відгуків де люди зачаровані цією книгою, плачуть навіть
А мені хочеться їх чимось стукнути бо вони поводять себе гірше малих дітей🤦🏿♀️
