A renegade omega threatens to destroy my fragile pack
After a rocky start at the Omega Sanctuary, I finally have my pack. Men who want me for who I am, not what my omega designation can do for them. I know together we can overcome anything...
Until renegade omega Yvenna returns to destroy everything I’ve built. Giving in to her demands means doom for us all.
With my pack vulnerable and caught between worlds, I'm faced with the impossible question: What would you do for the ones you love most?
Omega Court is a fantasy non-shifter sweet omegaverse with magic. It’s the second of a duology.
The book was 90% hot smut with the FMC Zara and her harem and maybe 10% actual and gradual progress towards solving the issue with spirit magic in the world. While this was an omegaverse, the way that the heat was implemented was a little unbelievable - Zara seemed a bit too calm and sane for somebody that should have been in a biological fever.
The character development was very shallow, if any, and the non-FMC omega Nova also got a decent number of point of view chapters in this book of her romantic interests - for what purpose other than share more smut, I don't know. In my opinion, this should have been saved for a spin-off book (which seems to be the works). All the spirit magic used was incredibly hand-wavy, and Zara never actually got any real lessons that I could tell considering how little non-smut time she spent with the spirits and Kivai. Zara miraculously knew what to do to defeat the evil spirit villain with not much difficulty.
The easy resolution, lack of deep world and character development, and the confusing typos (like the prince Nikki introducing Zara to his father as Nova instead) made this series a superficial non-memorable read and not something I would pick up again even though the basic idea of the society and world were interesting. I probably won't check out any other writing by this author based on this sample. ------ Ratings - completed series: #1 Omega Sanctuary: ★★★☆☆ #2 Omega Court (this book): ★★★☆☆
I don’t really know what happened with this book. I really enjoyed the first one, and downloaded this as soon as it came out. I’ve been reading it off and on for a few days because I kept losing interest, but I’m finally finished.
There were SO many spelling mistakes, I can’t believe this book was professionally edited! I feel like maybe the author was under too much time pressure writing this, and that diminished the quality of the writing?
The plot was a little confusing and felt uneven, I felt the battle scene was pretty rushed.
Overall disappointed, I think with a good edit this could be much better ☺️
2.75⭐️ i had high expectations this book unfortunately didn’t meet. Nova’s pov was unnecessary since they were only smutty, the plot suffered and was rushed, spelling mistakes and calling Zara “Callanova” in court, really? Nikki’s backstory was surface level at best and i feel like we still don’t know shit about Rayth, Asano and Valens. i like all the characters but i feel like there’s no depth to them except Zara. disappointing really and tbh i was expecting it to be a trilogy but i guess with how this book turned out, author couldn’t wait to get to Novas story that i probably won’t be reaching for.
I know I said I was gonna read this book in my review of the first book, but I’m just not all that interested anymore. I feel like I got the point and now I’m just bored. I need something new. 🤷🏻♀️ Nothing really against this book, I’m just a mood reader and my mood has shifted.
DNF’d @ 46% there is so much boinking that the plot has become attack, boink, spirit world, boink, orgy, boink, boink, boink. I honestly don’t care how they fix the magic issue.
I’m all for steam, but if I want porn, I’ll write it myself and I’ll write it better 🙊👀
This was such a disappointment. I really enjoyed the first book (though I did have to ignore some of the more cringy dialogue) and was excited to start this book but I feel like everything just fell to pieces?
There are way too many sex scenes, so many that the advancement of the plot and the character development suffers. It was also so difficult to figure out how everyone was positioned during these scenes, most of the time they were very confusing to read.
The inclusion of multiple Nova POV scenes that were only sex scenes was a really odd choice by the author, especially when she's the FMC for the next book???
I tried, I really did, but the complete lack of plot and multiple editing fails made this impossible for me to finish.
Yeah, no. This one definitely didn’t get better. I can’t really say I expected it to be a lot better but somehow it’s worse.
We’ve got Zara’s pack settling into its bond and trying to manage the deteriorating situation with shrines. Most of that made little sense to me.
In addition, the other omega we met in book 1, Nova, has several sex filled chapters with 2 of her future pack mates. I thought this was a very strange narrative choice. The next book is about Nova.
Why is this even two books? Save Nova’s story for her own book and combine what’s relevant here with the first book.
No cheating here. No OW/OM drama. No separation. No cliffhanger for this pack. Safe read.
2* for plot and multiple spelling mistakes 4* for smut (although in heat scenes Zara was too lucid?!)
2.5* overall. I really liked previous book but this one didn't match it and I read it over four (!!!) days in a small bits because it couldn't keep my interest. Nova's chapters felt really out of place. In the end author teased that next book will be about her and this makes sense, but I don't think I would be reading it.
I loved the book, it definitely had a nice conclusion that hit me in the feels. I enjoyed all the character growth and just the overall love that grew between them. It was so much fun seeing an omegaverse with two omegas and all the main characters loving each other equally. I was a big fan of everything and definitely recommend this series and can’t wait to see what the next series about Nova has in store.
However there’s a lot of misspelling, grammar errors, and the author using the wrong characters name. I think the editors in charge missed the mark and possibly pull the book out of kindle for a week so they can look over the mistakes.
Small spoilers One example of this is when Nikki introduces Zara as Nova instead of Zara. Another example is when Asoana calls Zara “kala” instead of his usual “lala.” (Which should be capitalized since it’s still a name but idk.) There we’re also missing quotation marks but it’s just frustrating cause as much as I enjoyed this book I kept getting taken out of the scenes when something was written with the wrong wording.
One last thing is pregnancy, I didn’t notice any omegas mention it at all, are they all on birth control? None of the characters used condoms so from my understanding there should’ve been talk about it at some point. Just felt left out. Especially since Nova isn’t even ready to be bonded so you’d think she’d worry about that.
Anyways this is still one of my favorites lately but like I said if this gets edited it’ll be a lot better. This is a reverse harem omegaverse though the relationships are entangled and all of the main characters do love each other s3xually too. Thank you for this story!
Zara has her pack and her mission. Stop Yvenna and save the world from wild magic. All Zara wants to do is lead a quiet life, bake, and love her men. Instead, she has to travel realms, figure out how to repair the destroyed shrines, and stop a possessed Omega.
Again, send the book back through editing. I'm deducting a star this time because of grammatical and factual errors. The story took a back seat to the sex at times. Don't get me wrong, the sex was hot but the balance seemed off. I love MM but I also always want the female Omega to be the center of the pack's universe. I was already concerned about having a bonded pair in the pack but had no idea how much interest would be diverted away from Zara and distributed among the men. At times, I felt she took a backseat, and I was not okay with that. Their words would say one thing but once their clothes were off it was all about the men loving up one another. Add in the chapters of Nova and her sexcapades to promote the next book, and there is plenty of sexy time. If you're not bothered by the main omega not being the center of attention or reading random sex scenes about her best friend, it's good smut. The battle for magic was okay. It could have been more of a focus, more exciting, and tenser but it did come together in a believable manner.
I really wanted to know how this story was going to end, the first book had such promise… I was completely let down. So many errors in spelling, grammar, and storytelling made this so hard to get through and ultimately wasn’t worth finishing.
So, the second and last part of Zara's story and her pack. I kind of liked part two more, than part one. But at the same time it lacked in other parts. Or more, there were parts again, that weren't solved ideally.
What I liked was, that in this book we get a lot more insight on the characters and what wasn't explained in book one. It wasn't much background story, but it was more, in comparison to the first book.
The idea behind the story is still great, too. I tend to analyze the contents too much, but I like it how Mira Kane shows that a world set in their ways, isn't always a good world. It left room for mistakes, that aren't always easy to undo. In that case, the world could have been destroyed, just because of mistakes of the past. That is a similarity to our world. And I like it, how Zara is determined and able to change these issues.
But the execution, during the plot, was far from ideal. For one, all the issues are solved with little resistance. And it was a contradiction to all the things we had seen before. Zara had so many difficulties managing her magic. Yet, in the final battle, she had no issues at all. Sure, it was partly explained with the bargain she had made with the bone woman. But it didn't seem logical. Sure, magical world and all that. And it doesn't have to be logical, but it made it too easy. I wasn't satisfied with that.
There were misspellings and so on, too. I don't really look into spelling errors. I barely took them into the rating. Only if it's that bad, that I can't understand anymore what I read. Otherwise, I let it slide. Because humans aren't machines, and therefore are bound to make mistakes. And even with a proofreader, there is no guarantee, that all mistakes are found. But it made parts of the book confusing. For example, as Nikolaidis introduced Zara to his father, and called her Callanova. But still, it was clearly a mistake. So, it was okay in some way. But I know others are more accurate than I am, and aren't happy about that.
Then there were the POVs by Nova. I don't know why she has so many chapters. It doesn't make sense, since Nova gets her own book. The only thing, I come up with, is that it was meant as some kind of prologue. But the content was mostly sexual. Sure, we know now which guys will be part of Nova's story. But I could have done without all the smutty times. I mean, Zara has enough of them during the book. I don't need that from Nova here, too. I mean, she gets her own book. And her guys could have been introduced, without Nova's POVs. I don't know what Mira Kane thought about that. But okay.
The last thing, that was kind of strange, but I had wondered about in book one as well, was about possible pregnancies. Zara has a lot of smutty times during the book, and there doesn't seem to be some sort of protection. It wasn't mentioned how this whole thing work. Same with the nesting and all that. The Omegas in that duet didn't act like I thought. Sure, they are knotted. But they apparently don't arrange their nests and are lucid during a heat.
Overall, I still liked the series, yet again, I had enough parts not to like. But I stand with my first rating. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.
I liked where this story begins and ends. But there was no growth shown in between. No magic training, no learning history, no learning dance moves on the page until they're suddenly used, etc. The characters grow but we're not shown how. Yet they somehow have all the answers they need for the final battle. And, let's not forget that when Zara proposes her solution to their thousand-year issue, the response she gets is "good, that's how we used to do it." Ok so why aren't they still doing it???
Anyway, let's not even start on the horrible grammar and spelling errors, including Nikki introducing Zara as Nova to his father. And let's not get into the fact that Zara is baking treats during her heat, sitting on the porch eating breakfast while scheming during her heat, in the library with one of her alphas because they all separated to different areas of the house she wasn't in during her heat for some reason, and they have more sex outside of her heat than they do while she's in heat. That's so odd.
My thoughts as I read this book: It was first Everlasting Waters then it was Cleansing Rains, I wondered if we were talking about different places but it seems not. Hashir 🥵didn’t expect that. I wonder if Hashir is aware of Nova’s powers, I feel like it might trigger him. Callenova-sounds very pretty. Didn’t know Nova was a short form The pockets of humor here and there…like with the terrible stew at the Order of the Silver Lions. God, Nikki introduced Callanova not Zaralina….the editing is really giving me whiplash. I really do enjoy books with more than one couple so I enjoyed Nova’s story alongside Zara’s. Can’t wait to read her book. Aki and hopefully Stefan will be part of the harem. This story is really good even with all the poor editing, I feel like a parrot repeating this over and over but gah, it really throws me off. I’m glad Yvenna was absolved too plus that epilogue that saw us give Jaiyen the middle finger, joy! We finally got an explanation for the delta members 🤭 Thank you Ms Kane!
Também me senti ciumenta.
É totalmente falso e me deixou com ciúmes. Se Zara não se importa, problema é dela. Eu me importo.
O plot de vilão melhorou um pouco aqui, gostei do Sem-rosto, mas achei chato ainda. O melhor era o romance.
Not a great start to the year but I needed to get this book out of my 'Currently Reading' shelf, so I finally, finally finished.
It took me so long to get through this one because I was bored out of my mind. I checked out halfway through and couldn't care less what happened moving forward. Side-characters that I didn't give a fuck about were given POVs that were a torture to read through, the plot was boring and the romance was just crass at this point.
The first book had its moments but this one just rubbed me the wrong way the whole way through.
I must say it took me a couple tries but I am so glad I read this series, I did not like the beau they had in the first book that she had a crush on and it was hard for me to look past him to continue reading! But I am so glad I did, the story line was fresh and the characters are sweet, hot, sexy and steamy! I very much like this twist on the omega verse and want to continue reading the other Omegas stories.
I loved this book. I won't give too many spoilers away, but I thought this was the perfect ending to the Omega Sanctuary Duo. I was thrilled to see that Nora has her own standalone book but I was not thrilled that it won't be out until April 2023.
This book had adventure, sorrow, triumph and pain. If you enjoyed the first book, you will definitely enjoy this book.
This was also a very different take on the omegaverse genre and I loved it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It’s been a hot minute since I read the first book in the series, but I was still sucked into this book. Zara was facing so much in the first book, so she could settle back in the second one, right? Nope. There is SOOOO much action in this book, so much story happening that affects the whole world. But what an ending to Zara’s story and an opening for other character’s stories. I’m looking forward to getting to read more stories set in this world.
The plot was pretty well written, the relationships sweet, and I even liked the obvious Kora fanfic in this second book. It was played out much more satisfying than the TV show, imo. The only things that bugged me are the grammar/punctuation missteps and the heat sex scene. It felt like there was all this build up but then the author didn't know how to actually execute the heat in a satisfying scene. Still, worth the read
Zara’s life gets even more complicated after her bonding. With Yvenna trying to take down sanctuaries and spirits being set free she’ll have to make some hard decisions. I also enjoyed that Nova got more of a feature in this one. It was a great ending. And a really good journey for all the characters. Lots of growth
I loved the story, the characters, the magic, and the sex. What I didn't love was the sloppy or nonexistent editing! The last 15% of the book was really sloppy in that regard - spelling, mismatched tenses, wrong cases, and even occasionally the wrong word entirely. I will still keep an eye out for the next one, but I really hope the author gets a better editor.
I have just finished reading this story and the one before I could not put them down until I read them both I look forward to reading more of these stories of the Omega's and there fight to put thing's right with the spirit world of magic.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm
I really liked the characters. All the hott and sexy scenes, especially the last one! However, I did feel like it was rushed, and thus, the ending wasn't what I expected. Either way, the series overall was great. Thank you, Mira Kane and team, for this book/series!
Zara continues on her path of protecting the shrines with her new pack. They learn to create a pack bond that strengths her and the group… as well as fight off magical forces.
“So, underneath that sexy brooding exterior, is an old lady who likes to play matchmaker.”
Absolutely loved this conclusion to the Omega Sanctuary duology!! I’m sad to see Zara and her mates go, but they had a great adventure. Looking forward to seeing Nova and her mates story!
This was a very satisfying ending to magical story. I picked up because I’m obsessed with Omegaverse but ended up loving the story and characters. Looking forward to Nova’s story.
The first 2 books are phenomenal! I read them both non-stop and back to back. The author wrote so much depth to the characters and the world. You're gonna love it!
Mira seems to have forgotten where she placed 3/6 characters in each of the groupings. Things that are physically impossible, confusing, or make no sense (a condom and lube for vaginal penetration, only to take it off and come inside her bareback).
I really enjoyed this book. I love that Zara was able to find her pack mates. Once the spicy moments happened they didn't stop. All the mm was a huge plus. I look forward to next books in this universe.
