Étienne Ghys (1954, Lille) est un mathématicien français, secrétaire perpétuel (première division) de l'Académie des sciences.
Il est directeur de recherche au CNRS, affecté à l’unité de mathématiques pures et appliquées (unité mixte de recherche CNRS, École normale supérieure de Lyon et INRIA). Il est connu pour sa recherche en géométrie et sur les systèmes dynamiques, ainsi que pour ses travaux de vulgarisation.

Первая прочитанная мною книга на французском от начала до конца. Она расчитана на школьников и язык довольно прост. Общее оформление книги и иллюстрации великолепны. По внутреннему оформлению это одна из лучших книг в моей библиотеке, хоть это и мягкая обложка.

A very nice initiation to science history through snow flakes. A nice way to learn about atoms, cristals, phases of matter and the scientists who discovered theses concepts. Easy to read, many pictures, this book has been written for the whole family.

Sympathique, mais beaucoup trop cher par rapport au nombre de pages et à ce qu’on y apprend. Une vulgarisation à l’extrême, sans doute faite exprès pour être compréhensible par tous, mais alors il ne faut pas vendre ça le prix d’un livre de sciences..
Les illustrations sont très belles cela dit.
