From the creator of the Shonen Jump manga Pretty Face and Mx0 comes a dark and wacky action comedy where one man falls head over heels for a hired killer–and orders a hit on himself, just to spend more time with her!
Aoi Nemo is a big-ticket businessman whose face has appeared on all the magazines, and there’s a price on his head. Coming to collect is Akaumi Kiruru, an assassin as deadly as she is beautiful. But the person who requested the hit was Aoi himself! From the moment he laid eyes on her, Aoi fell for this femme fatale, and he’ll do whatever it takes to spend more time with her: even if it means risking his own life. Don’t miss this zany comedy about losing your head over love!
Yasuhiro Kanō (叶恭弘) is a Japanese manga artist best known for Pretty Face, M×0, and Kiss x Death. His works often blend comedy, romance, action, and supernatural elements, with a particular focus on eccentric characters and lighthearted storytelling.
4/5 More slapstick romance and attempted murder. Aoi is still paying to have Kiruru try and kill him because he has a crush on her.
In this volume we’re introduced to a new love interest for Aoi in the form of his new receptionist who coincidentally has a past history with Kiruru.
Speaking of coincidences Aoi also manages to get himself entangled in a botched assassination attempt of a different individual. Now the whole league of assassins is out to kill him and not just Kiruru. However Kiruru is not willing to share her contract. What is Aoi to do.
Even more outrageous (and hilarious) than the first volume, this one straight up just made me laugh. With that being said, if you get bothered by fanservice, this series really won’t be for you. As for me, I just burst out laughing and rolled my eyes, like “come on…†If you read this for what it is, it’s a goofy story, and we all need a good laugh sometimes. I am glad that the story seems to be developing, and it’ll be interesting to see what antics Aoi & Kiruru get into next!
In this volume, more assassins are sent out to kill Nemo. This creates a unique dynamic between Kiruru and Nemo, since she needs to prevent other assassins from killing him in order to eventually kill him herself. Still funny, still cute. Love, love, love.
