Dit boek heb ik in stukjes en beetjes gelezen. Voor een geïnteresseerde leek is het hier en daar erg informatief en verhelderend en op een aantal andere punten erg academisch. Waarschijnlijk is het toch vooral geschreven voor degenen die van de middeleeuwse schilderkunst in de Lage Landen hun studie hebben gemaakt.
