A great quick read. I know this us supposed yo be for younger readers, but I don't care o am a fan it a it us fun. Some activity book surprises are ok, the story is short but good, the artwork is amazing.

Emperor Palpatine writes a first person summary of his grand plan. From is political maneuvering, playing both sides of the war, and becoming the Eternal Emperor.

Though the writing us short I do like that they have added the continuity of the other Disney era Star Wars books, and of course Clone Wars and Rebels series. Also difference between Dark Side users and the Sith. The book takes place right before Rise of Skywalker. A great addition to my Star Wars collection.

Enjoyed how this book revealed some things that confused me in the movies (where did Snoke come from??) Lots of great art. I'm not sure when Palpatine had time to write this, but I'm glad he did.

It doesn't really offer anything new, but the artwork is very beautiful and it's always interesting to read more about the events in Episode IX. It also includes bits about other Dark Side users such as Ventress, the Inquisitors and the Knights of Ren. Kids will enjoy this one.

This is a coffee table book with lots of photos, insets and inserts. The narrative is from Emperor Sheev (Darth Sidious) Palpatine's point of view. Although there are quite a few attempts to shoe-horn Disney's sequel trilogy concepts into the established Original and Prequel trilogies. The most egregious of these is the concept of the "dyad." This is 2 Force users who have such a special connection through the Force that, among other things, they can pass physical objects back and forth to each other at great physical distances.

I actually enjoyed the book and its Emperor perspective for the most part. That is why it got 3 stars.

Drew some interesting connections I hadn’t noticed before. Would’ve been four stars if not for the continuity errors in the last couple of pages.

Secrets of the Sith is not really a novel. It is a cross between a journal/handbook written from the perspective of Palpatine after the events of The Last Jedi, but before the events of The Rise of Skywalker, and a picture book. In it, Palpatine basically lays out the history of the Sith, referencing Darth Bane, and his master Darth Plageius. He describes how he corrupted Anakin and turned him into Vader, and his plans for Rey. He also made it clear that his "son" who eventually became Rey's father was more a son in the Bobba Fett to Jango Fett sense than a real son.

The book is a very quick read. Even if you read slowly you can get through it in an hour or two (at the most). It has a lot of pictures, including the first canon look at Darth Plageius (although you really don't see much of him aside from his glowing eyes behind a hood).

Overall, I would not call this a must-have book. It is almost more of a coffee table or display book than it is something you would ever read more than once. It does have a pull-out poster, so if you are an ultra-die-hard Star Wars fan, it will give you something to hang on the wall. But, it does not go much beyond what you learn from the movies, aside from clarifying or fleshing out a couple of points that you may have missed watching the movies.
