She’s a high-fashion realtor; he’s a low-maintenance mechanic. What on earth could they have in common?
Dressed in designer labels and cruising around town in her red Mercedes, workaholic realtor Harper Wilson presents the picture of success in charming Maple Falls. But Harper’s carefully cultivated image is resting on a shaky foundation. With a sudden drought in sales, she’s starting to see her professional dreams—along with her posh lifestyle—slipping away.
Car trouble brings her to mechanic Rusty Jenkins, and their unlikely friendship is taken to the next level when the laid-back Rusty allows her to give him a makeover for a charity bachelor auction. Harper soon discovers that beneath the town mechanic’s wild beard and grease-stained clothing lies a true Southern gentleman—someone with a kind heart and dreams of his own. Their chemistry is undeniable, but as they get closer, past fears and relationships start to creep in, reminding them of just how much is at stake when carefully constructed facades fall apart.
Maybe their worlds aren’t so separate after all. And maybe covering up who you really are keeps you from discovering what was always meant to be.
I have enjoyed this series but Sold on Love is my favorite so far. Set-in small-town Arkansas, this is a series where we get to know a group of friends, young single women who are finding their way and maybe a special guy. Harper Wilson is a driven, put together real estate business owner. She is well acquainted with Rusty Jenkins, local mechanic and repair shop owner, who has worked on her dream car, a Mercedes, many times. But who would have thought they would be attracted to each other? This is such a fun, opposites attract story! Both are a little insecure in themselves due to negative relationships or experience and cannot see that the other person is interested in them, but they are thrown together when Harper tries to find Rusty a new home. It is not an easy path to get together, and they have negative help with problems from an old nemesis of Harper's. There are some funny moments too when Rusty and his grandfather enter a gala to auction off themselves for a date to raise money for ALS. Harper's parents are having some trouble too and this is a side story that was touching but with some hard life lessons. Funny, light but with serious moments make this a great and swoon worthy read for those who enjoy romance and opposite attract theme. Now looking forward to Olivia's story. I received a complimentary copy from Thomas Nelson-FICTION and NetGalley. All thoughts are mine only.
Opposites attract can be such a fun dynamic, and Harper and Rusty are definitely lifestyle opposites! I think what makes them work is the values they have in common. It was a pleasure watching them get to know each other on a deeper level and the respect they developed for each other. It can be a bit tricky when a makeover is involved- but because Harper didn’t judge Rusty before he got a haircut and new clothes, it didn’t make her seem shallow when she also appreciated him after. I liked that we learn why maintaining her image has been important to her, and see her progression as she allows herself to relax, slow down, and take time to accept herself when she’s not top of the game. I thought the author handled the topic rather well. Harper’s lessons also involve letting herself lean on her friends, confide in them, and make time for relationships, rather than getting caught up in the rat race. We get to know more Maple Falls residents in this third book and I love how they give the story more depth. The subplot with Harper’s parents added to the story, but I felt like the chapters with her mother’s perspective were a little angsty and long for my taste and stalled the main story with Rusty and Harper. I hope we get a book or novella telling the story of the fourth member of this group of friends, especially since there were hints of foreshadowing woven in.

What a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon ~ an Adirondack deck chair travel to Maple Falls to hang out with Harper and Rusty! It’s a sweet, wholesome contemporary romance featuring a friends-to-lovers story that I simply couldn’t put down. It’s the third book of a series, but I had no problem reading it as a standalone.
Harper Wilson is a workaholic, high-fashion real estate agent with a Mercedes that constantly needs a mechanic’s attention. Rusty Jenkins is a low-key, low-maintenance mechanic who seems to be always coming to Harper’s rescue. What on earth could they have in common? When these two get together, “the spark plugs aren’t the only thing creating a charge.”
I loved the author’s exploration of the importance of family, of being true to oneself, and the power of second chances. I was instantly absorbed in the story, connected to the authentic characters with real-life challenges, and felt like I belonged in Maple Falls. This is a five-star romance that needs to be on your summer reading list.
I’m not a romance reader, but I’m eager to return to Maple Falls! You’ve got a new fan, Kathleen Fuller.
I was gifted this advance copy by Kathleen Fuller, Thomas Nelson, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
This was the first book I ever read by this author and I enjoyed it so much. Delightful storyline and Rusty Jenkins was an absolute perfect hero. The plot was good and I could connect with all aspects of the story.
It is part of a series and could be read as a stand alone, but I definitely felt as if I were missing a bit by not reading the first two. I would also have appreciated a bit more of a faith thread. All told, I was very happy I read it.
My thanks to Thomas Nelson Publishing for a copy of this book via the Net Galley platform. The opinion here is expressly my own.
Sold on Love by Kathleen Fuller is the third in the Maple Falls Romance Series. I am a huge fan of the town of Maple Springs, and felt like I was coming home to see my friends in this story. It was fun to revisit characters from previous stories including Riley, a real estate agent, and Rusty who owns his own auto repair shop.
This seems like an opposites attract kind of story, but I believe it is more about two people with similar values who come to love and appreciate each other. The secondary characters gave the story depth and had their own issues we watched play out. The author did a wonderful job developing all of the characters and we watched them grow and matured throughout the story.
This delightful story weaves in themes of forgiveness, the value of relationships, and learning to figure out what really matters in life. I am a huge fan of this series and was glad I could return once again to Maple Falls, Arkansas. I highly recommend this story.
I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review.
Maple Falls is a wonderful world I would love to visit and spend time in. This latest book follows Harper, who is a real estate agent, and Rusty, who is a mechanic, as they come from very different worlds. The friends we have met before are involved in their lives and it is the perfect set up for romance! All of the tropes were perfect for me and I loved how they played out together. The theme of family was well done. Harper’s family history impacts her life in a difficult way and Rusty is there to help. Senior (Rusty’s Grandpa) is hilarious on every page as he has a sarcastic comment or witty joke to say. All of the characters were perfection together and on their own. This series is worth the read and this most recent novel is especially so!
I received an arc via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
Kathleen Fuller has written the sweetest romance in Sold on Love! I've read all three books in this series and Sold on Love is my absolute favorite! 5 stars!
Sophisticated real estate broker and fashion lover Harper Wilson is the main character in this friends-to-lovers story. Mechanic and good ole country boy Rusty Evans is her polar opposite in that he doesn't care anything for fashion or appearances, but he does have a thing for Harper and her beauty. Their slow burn attraction and getting to know each other is a comedy of errors and I enjoyed all its charm and laughs along the way. I loved both their characters, so well done.
I also loved that Fuller included an older couple, Harper's parents Madge and Don, and their marriage challenges in this book. It was so accurate and realistic it added a nice balance to the young love storyline.
Sold on Love is a "dreams can come true" happy ever after story that I highly recommend for solid reading enjoyment. Kathleen Fuller has a winner on her hands! I appreciate Thomas Nelson making a copy of Sold on Love available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
Sold on Love is the third installment in Kathleen Fuller's Maple Falls small town romance series, and it's my personal favorite of the series so far. It has a fun opposites attract dynamic that's at the heart of the plot and romance, and I honestly ended up enjoying both Harper and Rusty as main characters.
Their romance starts out as an unlikely friendship, and I loved how they brought out a side in each other that they were both too scared to let anyone else see. Harper was always a character I enjoyed in the previous books, and I thought her own story definitely showcased a different side to her character that endeared her even more in my eyes. Rusty was such a swoon worthy male protagonist, and I loved how much his family meant to him, and how he dealt with such insecurities over giving romance a chance when he'd been hurt in the past.
While I didn't really love either of the first two books in the series, I did enjoy seeing the characters from the previous titles pop up again and again throughout this one. Something I wasn't expecting was the side story arc that involves Harper's mother, and my heart truly broke for everything their family had gone through, and had never had a chance to heal from.
All in all, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this one, and the only negative I really had is that I continue to wish this series had an actual faith element, instead of just a few superficial mentions of attending church. If a book is labeled as Christian fiction, then I want to see Jesus in it!
Other than that, it was a sweet, small town romance with likeable protagonists, enjoyable secondary characters, a lovely small town setting, and an engaging plot. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and would definitely recommend it to fellow fans of small town romances.
Final Rating: 4/5.
Thanks so much to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to advance read and review this one!
I received a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Thomas Nelson) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sold on Love is the third book in the Maple Falls series of books by Kathleen Fuller and is my favorite. Of all the female heroines I like Harper Williams the best. We met Harper and Rusty in the previous book. On the surface it looks like Harper has it all together. Always dressed to the nines with perfect hair and makeup. She has a luxury car that keeps giving her trouble and her trusty mechanic always brings her car back to life. With Rusty she was able to let her hair down and be herself. Harper has her problems. Her parents are on the brink of divorce and Harper's real estate business is struggling. I love her circle of friends that call themselves the BBs. I hope we will get to hear Olivia's story next.
Charity bachelor auction for the win! I enjoyed this story of small-town living and an unlikely pairing of realtor Harper Wilson and mechanic Rusty Jenkins. Sweet romance in a quaint setting for this one. Predictable ending, but definitely worth the read.
Sold on Love is the third book in the Maple Falls series that follows four friends as they find their niche and careers and love along the way. This is Harper's story. She is a successful real estate agent, always put together, but always on the run. What she isn't letting her family and friends know is that her business is suddenly struggling. A new agent in town is getting the best listings and several of her clients are cancelling appointments. Not only that, but her car is acting up and she is feeling like a failure. Enter Rusty Jenkins, the local mechanic. Rusty is a down to earth guy, who is taking care of his grandfather and happy being single. His past experiences have turned him off the idea of dating and taking chances with women who find him great friendship material, but nothing else. When he and Harper start to become friends, she asks him to be a bachelor at the fundraising auction she is working on. Both he and his grandfather agree and Harper convinces him to do a makeover. As they spend more time together, they both begin to develop more serious feelings toward the other, but both think the other just wants to be friends. Will they be able to tell each other how they feel before one of the other walks away?
Sold on Love was another good story in this series. I loved seeing Harper become more real and human. She always seemed like a bit of a robot just making sales and building up her façade of a life. The more her business struggles, the more she begins to relax with Rusty's help. I liked this Harper and wanted her not only to find love, but to find a balance in her life. Rusty was delightful. He was so insecure about his attractiveness to others, that it was cute to see him fumbling when he was with Harper. He was sweet, caring, sentimental and so easy to like. His grandfather was one of the best characters in the book. I loved how he joked around with Rusty, but loved him to bits. He gave sage advice is a roundabout way, but didn't mince words with Harper. Such a great story of a romance that developed slowly, with a few hiccups along the way, but grew out of friendship. Yes opposites can attract, and compliment each other. My only complaint is the lack of communication trope that is in the story. That is the one that frustrates me and I always want to grab the characters and give them a shake, but, I do know this does happen in real life. This is identified as a Christian Romance, but due to the fact that the author also writes Amish Christian Fiction. I would say it is a clean, contemporary romance. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Lauren Berst. She has a nice easy listening voice that uses expression and emotion to add to the story. I enjoyed listening to this one. If you enjoy a wholesome romance with fun characters set in a small town, then I recommend you pick up Sold on Love or the previous books in this series.
I really enjoyed this opposites-attract story. It was a step up from the previous book in the series for me, and I ended up reading it in just about a day!
There is some alcohol consumption a couple times, which I always have mixed feelings about myself now that I’ve quit drinking; it’s easy for me to opine into how many drinks is too many. But, thankfully both scenes were short (and shorter than similar instances in, again, the previous book in the series).
Rusty is entirely endearing, especially when the reader is tipped off he’s a dead ringer for Sam Heughan, lol. Yes, please!
And, the growth both Rusty and Harper (and Madge/Don) go through over the course of the story is touching, meaningful, and thought-provoking. It made me do some introspection of my own!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Sold on Love is the third book in the Maple Falls series, finds Harper Wilson and Rusty Jenkins spending a lot of time together because Harper's Mercedes keeps falling apart, and Rusty is in need of a Real Estate Agent.
What begins as them just being acquaintances slowly changes into something more. Harper is not just a business-savvy, fashionista but someone who under Rusty’s encouragement learns to slow down and learn to take time for herself, her family, friends and her faith, and of course, her heart.
I think Sold on Love is my favourite story in the Maple Falls series, and it was fun to have the other characters from the previous stories in the series make appearances. I was looking forward to Harper’s story and I wasn’t disappointed!
My gratitude to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson."I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
I love this series more with each new book! Harper and Rusty were the perfect combination of rough and sweet. My only criticism is that the ending felt a little rushed. While the other books followed a pattern of ending in a proposal, and the wedding at the beginning of the next book, this one broke that mold. I would have loved one or two more chapters to see Harper and Rusty's married life play out a little more.
I loved this book. 😍 The best one in the series so far for sure. I loved the side story with Harper's parents. I loved Harper and Rusty. I love a good opposites attract story and this was definitely that!
Definitely my favorite of the series. I like that the very different opposites attract. I like that Harper was the one chasing Rusty. The parent’s redemption story was a nice touch too. The characters in this town/series have grown on me!
I would have to say that this book is not the best of the series by Kathleen Fuller, but it is still a good read. There are a couple of plots to the book that make it a bit more interesting. However, the overall pacing is just a bit slow.
Harper Wilson is a real estate agent who bakes when she is stressed and since she's had a downturn in business, she's been a bit more stressed. Rusty Jenkins is the mechanic who keeps her car running, even though he believes it is a lemon. She's high fashion, he's low maintenance. She's all about appearances, he's all about comfort.
Maple Falls, Arkansas, is a fictional town near Hot Springs (where I grew up). They are geographically close enough that many of the businesses in Maple Falls support charities in Hot Springs, specifically the ALS Gala and bachelor auction. Harper is involved with helping with the gala and convinces Rusty to be one of the bachelors for the auction. Rusty's grandfather, Senior, thinks the auction would be a lark and volunteers to be one of the bachelors.
Rusty knows that his house is in ill repair and wants to buy something a bit bigger. He's got his eye on a piece of property on the outskirts of town that would be a perfect place to build a house--it's got woods, a pond for fishing, and several sites suitable for building a house.
While Harper is struggling with her business, her ex-boyfriend shows up to tell her that her arch nemesis is out to destroy her business. Rusty and Harper had been growing closer until he sees Harper with her ex, then Harper's nemesis, Brielle, fills Rusty's mind with doubts about Harper.
This is a typical formulaic romance with a slight twist in that Girl meets Boy, instead of the other way around. Still a readable book. Four Stars
Thomas Nelson provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is my favorite Kathleen Fuller book. I loved the main characters, Harper and Rusty. She hid behind her fancy clothes and he hid behind his garage coveralls but they were a perfect match because they both had hearts of gold.. This is sweet romance you don't want to miss!
I love anything that Kathleen Fuller writes. She never disappoints. I had a very nice time in Maple Falls. It felt like I was back home again with the BBFs. Those ladies still tickle me pink lol. This time we have new characters that I absolutely adored. Harper and Rusty. They sure did know how to make me snicker at times. So did old Jasper. I enjoyed every minute of this novel and I've finished it in one day. It was so good y'all that I couldn't put it down. Fuller did this reader's imagination just fine. I loved being in the story with the characters and the town I am definitely giving this book 5 stars. Well done! My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
She is a real estate agent and for a while the business is down . Then her car mechanic ask her to help him buy a near by land . They start seeing each other very often and they both start to like each other . She also try to make him a make over which she makes her fall for him all the more . What will happen when her ex comes back and try to win her ? I received this book from netgalley and the publisher as an arc . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .
It was so good to be back in Maple Falls again! This is the 3rd book in the series and was great to find out more about Harper and her real estate business. Her sales are struggling and she doesn't know what to do. Her car is constantly on the fritz and mechanic, Rusty, is already up for the challenge of the car and Harper! I really enjoyed the characters of Rusty and Sr..
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Read this if you like: Multiple POVs, light reads, clean romance
Harper is a workaholic real estate agent in the small town of Maple Falls. She wears designer labels and drives a red Mercedes. Harper’s carefully cultivated image is resting on a shaky foundation. With a sudden drought in sales, she’s starting to see her professional dreams and fancy lifestyle slipping away.

This book was seriously so cute. It does have a little drama but in my opinion it's pretty low on drama. I really enjoyed the couple with this book. I do wish we had seen them as a couple a little while longer but I still loved it. The characters were very well developed. Their story pulled me right in. I absolutely will be reading the first two books to this series. Highly recommend this one. It came out August 2nd. Be sure to pick it up!
Thank you to the author, TLC Books Tours, and Thomas Nelson for the gifted book! ❤️
A sweet opposites attract romance that brought a smile to my face.
Engaging, quick read, filled with heart and lovable characters. Harper has worked hard to build up her business, but sales have been slow, and she has a lot on her plate. I admired her for her work ethic, and I liked how she is always willing to helps others.
My favorite characters had to be Rusty and Senior. Rusty is kind and humble, with a heart of gold. Senior is a wise man with a sense of humor and great timing. I loved how he made the scenes that he was in sparkle.
Overall, another delightful visit to Maple Falls, with cameos from favorite characters from previous books, while leaving room for more books in the future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Totally romantic and sigh-worthy! I liked the pairing of Harper, a beautiful fashionista realtor with Rusty, a good-hearted, sensitive mechanic whose appearance was quite rustic. At first glance they were an unlikely match but their backstories made them perfect for each other. I also loved the way the author wove a subtle message of gentleness and forbearance for yourself and others into the story. This book can stand on its own but you will appreciate the recurring characters from previous books more if you start at the beginning of the series. Highly recommend! I received an advance copy from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are mine in this voluntary review.
Sold on Love is the third installment in Kathleen Fuller's Maple Falls Romance series. In my opinion, each book gets better and better! I love the small town feel of each book, and Fuller creates characters that brim with life, humor, and romance.
Although I do recommend reading these books in order, You can fully enjoy Harper and Rusty's story without doing so. Prepare to fall in love with these characters and fight alongside them as they each try to find a place to belong with their family struggles and with each other.
I received this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
Harper Wilson is a realtor in the small town of Maple Falls. She has been having great success but suddenly sales have dropped off. She is also helping with a town fundraiser -- the Bachelor auction. Rusty Jenkins is Harper's mechanic. He owns the shop and has a pretty nice nest egg stashed away but he doesn't present as someone of means. He dresses casually and talks like a down home country boy. Harper on the other hand dresses to the nines. This story is how they help each other and find out who the other really is. Fun story!
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.
Sold on Love is the third book of the series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. I did not love the second book and wasn't sure I wanted to continue the series; however, I am glad I did.
Sold on Love is an endearing opposites attract story. It is a quick read. The story follows two couples, Harper and Rusty, and Harper's parents, Madge and Don. I was more invested in Harper and Rusty's relationship, but both storylines and well-written. All four characters go through considerable character growth. I also liked Senior, Rusty's grandfather. So far, Sold on Love is my favorite of the series. I do plan to read the fourth book.
This is the third book in the Maple Falls contemporary romance series. This is another delightful book by the author featuring conflicting main characters, Harper, an upscale fashion diva realtor, and Rusty, a down-to-earth auto mechanic who become friends when her fancy car breaks down.
This is a delightful book of how two worlds and friendship can collide in a way you would not expect. This is a fast read and I would recommend it to anyone that likes to read Christian romance books. You will not want to put it down until you see how all the twists and turns are resolved.
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Thomas Nelson. The opinions expressed are my own.
