Foreign dignitaries, bioterrorism, and revenge…just another day when duty calls Lily “Devil” Devillier.

Dr. Lily “Devil” Devillier might have moved thousands of miles from home, but she still knows a thing or two about duty. And when she discovers someone’s broken into a top-secret lab at the research center where she works, it’s up to her to discover why. Well, her and Darius Washington, the mysterious new chief operations officer who just happens to keep appearing at all the right times.

Commander Darius Washington wasn’t pleased about being sent on assignment to watch over Lily Devillier. That is, until he realizes that she isn’t quite the woman he thought she’d be. Now he’s got a break in at his lab, a missing scientist, and evidence of something much bigger brewing, and he’s more than happy she’s leading the charge.

Together they find themselves sinking deep into the world of revenge, retribution, and bioterrorism. And with each passing day, they realize that leaning on each might not be such a bad thing. Especially when the plot they uncover has its roots in her homeland, and it will take both of them to stop an international incident that could spark a global war.

Tamsen Schultz is the author of several romantic suspense novels and American Kin (a short story published in Line Zero Magazine). In addition to being a writer, she has a background in the field of international conflict resolution, has co-founded a non-profit, and currently works in corporate America. Like most lawyers, she spends a disproportionate amount of time thinking (and writing) about what it might be like to do something else. She lives in Northern California in a house full of males including her husband, two sons, three cats, a dog, and a gender-neutral, but well-stocked, wine rack.

Devil is the third book in the Doctors Club series. Each one focuses on a different member of a group of four friends, all of whom are both spies and doctors of one type or another. Although the four women are close, they are used to working largely alone. They have been known to have help (interference?) from Cyn's uncle, but other than that they have had to rely on themselves. In the case of Devil, that's even more true. SHe was brought up in a family that sees everything as business and power and without love. The only place she has really known affection has been with her friends. When she meets Darius, a commander who has been tasked to back her up, it goes against everything that she has always done and believed to try and trust him.
Devil is an interesting character, where she first appears quite cold and reserved, it's obvious that underneath all of that is a great passion and that's why she and the more friendly and personable Darius make such a good match, they balance one another out. Like the other books, this isn't a simple romance or even a romantic suspense. The thriller side of it takes a much bigger role.
Devil and Darius have to work together to deal with a deadly virus that has the potential to infect the whole world (rather close to home for us at the moment) although this is a man-made virus and is being used by terrorists for their own ends.
This was an exciting and gripping read and one that I really enjoyed.

Lily keeps very busy with her research institute, the Smith House- the hotel that offers seconds chances to for with difficult backgrounds, the Doctors Club- with her close friends from boarding school, and the occasional assignment from her home country

as she is preparing a report for research into a pancreatic cancer drug treatment that could have gone better, she realizes it has been nearly eight months since she has had an assignment from mainland China. was she being retired in situ without really noticing?

Franklin manages to insert his skillset and matchmaking tendencies into her office - happily in a timely manner, as something strange and ultimately potentially very lethal crops up

Will his efforts help Devil save the day? will she survive the efforts? with the cold and remote background she comes from, is there a possibility for a real romance- let alone one with future potential?

fast paced international drama, intrigue, sisterhood bonds and some steamy stuff- great reading

Devil is the 3rd novel in the series of The 4 Doctors who comprise the “Doctors Club”. Devil is also the nickname name of the primary character, is Chinese/French and is an intelligence agent for the Peoples Republic of China. Since she lives near Boston and works with the other members of the “Club” (which is made up of agents from other countries friendly with the U.S.), does she really represent and work for China as she and her new partner work to avert an international incident? Read on and you’ll find out. This book has some really interesting and suspenseful twists and turns and the plot is deep with intrigue. As always with this author, romance works its way into Devil’s life and I enjoy the author’s character and relationship developments in her stories. I really enjoyed this novel and these stories keep getting better with each new one in the series and I eagerly await the release of Nora.

What a fantastic continuation in this series!

Dr. Lily Deviller, aka Devil, is a member of the Doctor's Club and works for the Chinese and American Government and has a duty to assist both as needed. While working in a research center, someone breaks into the top secret lab and steals paperwork. She also discovers that her new boss, Commander Darius Washington, is more than he seems.

While investigating the theft, Lili and Darius discover a threat to the Chinese president and a bioterrorism risk that could be catastrophic if unleashed. Can Lili and Darius find out who is behind the threat before it's too late?

I am loving this series. Tamsen Schultz is showing that brains and beauty can go together in a world that is solely focused on appearance. This series is a must read!

I love this series so much! I think Devil is the absolute best in this series so far!

The four ladies of "the club" are such great characters, well-rounded, and fascinating that I'd love to meet them IRL.

The addition of Darius to the club was genius. He's a strong character that is conflicted at times, yet he does what he needs to do to protect Devil while allowing her to be the kick ass woman that she is.

If you enjoy great characters, fast moving story lines, cutting edge, topical themes, and very interesting settings, this is the series for you!

Do yourself or a friend a favor and pick up any of this author's books. You won't be sorry.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for an ARC at my request. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Once I get lost in the suspenseful, action-packed, friends-for-life world of the Doctor's Club I don't get anything else done! In the third book in the series, Dr. Lily Devillier, medical researcher/international spy, is the point person to solve break-ins at a top-secret lab and prevent a bioterrorism attack possibly involving the Chinese president. I love the interplay of personal histories, political intrigue, and evolving emotional entanglements of the friends and the potential partners sent by their M16 handler as they race against time to figure out what’s happening and if they can save the day. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thank you for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

This third book in Tamsen Schultz's new series about four women (each has a doctorate in a different field, and each from a different country) is topnotch reading, as are all her books.

Dr Devillier ("Devil") has met her match and the storyline catches her in some potentially compromising situations. Her opposite number is the kind of guy this reader likes to meet in
books: he's capable, likeable, and does not get in the way of the heroine 'just because.'

I am really looking forward to reading the story of Nora, the veterinarian, which will complete this quartet. The four women are best friends, their stories all involve keeping up with and supporting each other, so a visit to a new story is also a visit to some old friends!

Thank you for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Devil, the third in Tamsen Shultz’s Doctor’s Club series, is just as exciting as the first two. The buildup is convoluted, twisting and turning, and the punchline will blow you away! With a few characters from previous books and series making a cameo appearance, the story line just keeps building and building. Suspense, romance, technology, you name it, this book has it! I thoroughly enjoyed it and with great anticipation look forward to the final book--Nora.

Dr. Devellier (Devil) is part of the Doctors club comprised of 4 highly skilled women who trained together at a private facility. All are agents for their individual government. Devil is a Chinese agent but lives and works in a lab facility in Boston. She and Darius Washington discover a bioterrorist plot to assassinate the Chinese leader during a US visit. Together with the help of the club they must fit all the pieces together to prevent a potentially devastating event. There is non stop action throughout. This is a book that is impossible to put down. I highly recommend the entire series.

This is a fast paced thriller/romance wonder of a read. I liked the way that the author reveals the softer side of Devil bit by bit as the narrative unfolds around the complexity of the budding relationship between her and Darius and their work together. Their resistance to being matched in their working and personal lives gets a humorous treatment by the rest of the Club members. All in all this is an enjoyable light handling of a serious problem. I received a free ARC copy for an honest review.

Devil is up and what follows is a suspense filled story with plenty of action. I love Darius and their interactions. Especially that first one. It had me laughing and filled with anticipation. Their budding romance is more of a slow burn.
The case they are chasing is complex and involves a lot of suspects. Plenty of twists keep you guessing. I didn't figure it out till the big reveal.
Next up is Nora and I can't wait for her book!

This is the third book in the Doctor's club series and each are standalone. I will say that these books are fantastic in their own right and a must read if you enjoy romantic suspense. This one is Devil's and Darius' story. It really kept me going with the twists and turns. You will not be disappointed. Just be warned that once you start reading, you will not want to put it down - It's that good!

Love this series!

I picked up book 1 on a whim and now I am hooked. This author centers her stories around smart, independent women. Each book has a bit of romance but heavy on suspense and intrigue. You never put the pieces together until the author reveals them at the end. I now have to read everything Tamsen Schultz has released, again I am hooked! I highly recommend the Club Series.

Exciting and engaging romantic suspense. The Chinese doctor of the club has center stage in this tale. It will keep you guessing and turning the pages. While I skip the intimate details and overlook the foul language, I am still eager to see how everything is resolved. I look forward to reading the final member of the doctors club, Nora's story. Thanks to the author for providing a copy.

Loved it

Again loved every page. So much suspense and intrigue. Of course it was not who I thought the bad person was. Can not wait to read Nora’s story. Sad I have to wait until January. Will it be someone new or someone from a previous story. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.

Really great read

This is the third book on the Doctors Club and it’s four members/friends. The story has the development of a possible smallpox like viral weapon. Lilly, is the agent with connections to China and leading her friends and others to prevent this. I definitely recommend this book.

Another book down, one more to go! The entire series so far has been such a fantastic adventure! The plot and characters were all so amazing and I love how the author connected everything nicely. The ending was the best! I love being able to see Devil in her element and being able to find true love. Looking forward to Nora’s book!

Spies, scientists, politicians

I love the characters in this series. This one is pretty twisted and has lots of bad guys. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two books. Just too much going on in the plot for my enjoyment. I almost always re-read most of my books at some point, so I may like it more when I re-read it.
