Love’s an illusion.
Everyone around her is out for what they can get, except a drummer who wanted nothing more than a steamy one-night stand.
Two blue lines later, she’s on the fast track to career destruction as America’s number one wholesome content creator.
Saving her reputation and collaborations will require a plan and a little social media fakery. Okay, a lot. Lik

I’m not new to Scarlett Cole, but I haven’t been this impressed with her character and story development in a while. Don’t get me wrong, I’d recommend anything she has every written, but this story gave me Harper & Trent vibes and my heart soared! You see, Harper & Trent is how I met Scarlett and their book blew my ever-loving mind in 2015. I’ve been a devout believer since. Luke & Willow’s story made me feel all the things just as Harper & Trent's had so many years ago and how a story makes you ...more

TW: drug use bordering on addiction, accidental pregnancy, grooming/sexual assault (prior/retelling), parental neglect, parental gas lighting (prior/retelling)

Anyone who reads my reviews knows I’m not a fan of angst and there are very few authors I read regularly that write quite a bit of angst into their books and Scarlett Cole is one and she almost did me in with How Good It Was. I did enjoy this book quite a lot, but I’ll also admit there were so many times when the angst factor got to me and

I really enjoy this series which follows the English rock band ‘Sad Fridays’ which consists of Matt, Jase, Luke, Alex and Ben. Their lives are changing rapidly, we get to see how their dream of becoming a successful band finally comes true and we also see how they find love along the way. With each book I’m falling more and more in love with these characters. The third book ‘How good it was’ is the love story of drummer Luke Bryson and social media influencer Willow Warner and is another great a ...more

Another winner by this author! I had a hard time putting it down, just be prepared for some frustration, and other emotions to surface. The author has written the characters of Willow and Luke so well, and to watch them grow while working through unchartered territory had me turning pages just to see what happens next. Willows’s strength and Luke’s hard work to change his ways make for an amazing read. But it is the family they have created that makes the whole thing work.

Thank you to

I have been so excited for this book, the moment it appeared on my kindle I dropped everything to read it, and I loved it so much! Sexy, intense, dramatic, fun and gorgeously romantic, it’s a beautifully emotional surprise pregnancy/fake romance love story, and a fantastic addition to the series.

Luke is the drummer for the Sad Fridays. The boys have just hit the big time thanks to one of their songs featuring in a video by former child star and social media darling, Willow Warner, and

I loved this book!! I loved the characters. Even though I read the previous books in series I had forgotten much about them but this reads fine as a standalone.

I like how they meet. I love England. I had not been to Manchester (yet) but still I loved all the ways to say bun and all the tea that cures everything.

I liked how we read about the rock group moving through the process of getting their record out and getting ready for their tour

I really loved the growth in Luke. Willow was fantastic. I

This is the third in the series, and I really would implore you to read them in order, as otherwise you really will miss significant elements of the story, and also of the culture in Manchester where much of this is set. If you don't and find yourself lost, please go back and start at the beginning – the story deserves your time.

Luke Bryson the drummer of the Sad Friday's was on a spiral of self destructive behavior. Willow Warner was everyone's favorite social media influencer, yet struggled with who she wanted to be and who everyone thought she was. When a one night stand came back with a positive pregnancy test priorities changed. A deal to stay together for a year and then go their separate ways seemed like a simple solution until it wasn't .

This was a slow build up romance focusing not only on the main cha

Started this series because this is the book I really wanted to read. I love me a pregnancy trope. It didn't disappoint. There were some things I didn't like but overall it was a great read.

There are some content warnings for the book (and the others) in that they all do cocaine, however unlike the one rocker romance book I read that involved drug use and that I highly disliked because it was the actual focus on the story, it is not the case with this series. It is actually about the couple and

My favorite up and coming band out of Manchester, UK- “Sad Friday’s” are back!
This time around they come to us with an accidental pregnancy/fake relationship romance that was full of unexpected sweetness!

Willow is a social media darling who helped the band get a big break into the public eye. She and drummer, Luke shared a night of hot, uninhibited sex. They went their separate ways, no expectations.
10 weeks later Willow travels from Los Angeles to the UK and knocks on Luke’s

This book definitely took me on a roller coaster of a ride because this one had its moments where I wanted to toss the Kindle into the freezer (this option replaces throwing it against a wall). But, it also kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and, in the end, every frustrating, sweet, funny, heartbreaking moment was worth it.

Willow and Luke. I ended up loving them both, but boy did they try me, especially in the first half of the book. I was already iffy abou

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Luke and Willow aren’t my favourite of Scarlett Cole’s couples, but I’m really loving the way this series follows the Sad Fridays from unknown grafters in the first book to the stadium filling band in this third book.

The complicated relationships between the band members, their families and their partners are the best parts of this book. The band has grown up - and they’ve grown together. This book builds on the themes of forg

I admit it. I'm a sucker for Scarlett Cole's books, but can you really blame me? I mean, her characters and stories grab a hold of my heart and refuse to let go. Latest case in point: Luke and Willow's story. Gah! These two were irresistibly endearing, and while they don't necessarily have the sort of meet-cute that's GP-rated and super swoony, they've got an undeniable connection. I liked that they had their struggles and that they neede

Scarlett Cole is back with the third book in the Excess All Areas series and y'all I was here for all the words in this beauty and all the feels that Willow and Luke gave me. What a journey.

How Good It Was was all kinds of good y'all. Steamy, intense, emotional in moments, a fast read that'll hook you early on, and whoaaaa. Scarlett did an amazing job giving her own flair and twist to this book.

That blurb might have hooked me at first but the words and characters hooked me cover to cover

I'm so glad I picked this up. I forgot how much I enjoy Scarlett Cole's writing. She does an outstanding job with relationships. Not just the romantic couple, but the relationships between the rest of the characters. Watching Luke get his life together and deal with his feelings toward his friend and band mates who he felt betrayed him was awesome. And watching Willow fall in love and get her own life in order was equally as good.

While this is book 3, you could definitely start here. But trust

I adore Scarlett Coles books and this one is no exception. This is the third book in the Excess All Areas series about an up and coming rock band, Sad Fridays. This time out Luke is the hero. He’s the older brother of Isabel from the first book and drummer for the band. We learn at the end of the previous book he had one glorious night with Willow, the heroine of this book and the young woman who played a major role in the change in fortune for Sad Friday’s. It’s now 10 weeks later, the band is ...more

Now we find out what actually happened that night and the affect it had on them both.

Luke Bryson is the drummer of Sad Fridays, an up and coming rock band from Manchester. They’re in Detroit recording their first album after one of their songs went viral thanks to a post by Willow Walker, an influencer.
Willow goes to meet them in Detroit and her connection with Luke is instantaneous. They have the most epic one night stand and when morning comes, Luke is gone and they carry on with their lives. Or so they think… two months later Willow shows up in Manchester bearing news, she’s

I couldn’t wait to read this new Scarlett Cole’s book. I loved the previous one “Next time I fall” and I really wanted to know more about Luke. He wasn’t my favorite character since he seemed temperamental and a bit selfish but I wondered what was behind the mask. So I didn’t wait when I received the ARC and started to read immediately Luke and Willow’s story. Luke is in a hard place. He’s never happy and nothing seem to help to really dull the hurt he feels. Except for this one night with Willo ...more

I am absolutely loving this series by Scarlett Cole. How Good It Was is the third book in the Excess All Areas series, and I must admit to it being my favourite…. so far! We still have Alex and hopefully Ben’s stories to come.

What can I say about Luke? Luke is the band member that concerns me the most, and I desperately want to see him content. He has his struggles. He certainly hasn’t had an easy time over the years - having had responsibilities that he made many sacrifices for in order to do

I absolutely adored this one. I’m so glad I found this series, because I’ve loved every book so far. The connections between the band members are really deep and meaningful. It’s been awesome to see them grow and learn to love/support each other better. The main female characters have all added something to the group and grown with the men. How Good It Was is a fake relationship, rockstar romance. This is book three from the series Excess All Areas. You should start at book one so you have a better understanding of the characters and their backgrounds. This book focused on Luke Bryson and Willow Warner.

“I feel like I’ve never had mind-blowing sex.”
“You want the kind of sex that leaves you breathless and sweaty and hanging halfway off the bed. The kind of sex where you fight to get closer or deeper. No matter how hard you try, you want more. Within minutes of it being over, you can’t wait to do it again. You want to feel stripped down raw, like your soul has been ripped out of your chest.” Luke put his forefinger beneath her chin and tipped her face to his.
“Yes,” she whispered. “For once, I want to feel like that.”
The elevator pinged and the door opened. “What room?”
She held out the key card to him. “Don’t hurt me.”
“I won’t. I promise.”
