"New Favorite Vampire Book!"—Makayla LaLonde, Goodreads ReviewerHenry Richards is just trying to make it through her senior year of Classics Studies at her prestigious (and pretentious) liberal arts college, but she's thrown for a loop when she learns that her campus is infested with vampires and that one (or three) of them has their sights set on her.CONTENT this book contains explicit sexual content."A love letter to paranormal and gothic romances. Just sink your fangs right in."—Maisie Dickson, The Book Sphere"A sensual plunge and worship of ancient creatures, that thrills the mind and races the beatings of the heart. Likovich's romance will lure you in and sink its teeth" —Marcia Ruiz, co-author of We All May Be Together
Molly Likovich is the author of gothic romances, poetry, and the occasional play. When she's not writing she can be found lurking around the local graveyard.
I am absolutely adding this to my tbr because it sounds super cool and it looks like the author has a last name from the Balkans soooo *clicks add to tbr*
This is a bisexual, polyamorous, smutty romance about vampires and classicists. It shamelessly references Jane Eyre and Ice Planet Barbarians. There are constant Twilight jokes, and discussions about ancient civilizations between characters who quote Edgar Allen Poe and make a living off Sappho-inspired erotic art. There's no way to describe this other than a good time, which fills a particular niche so well. It definitely asks that you suspend disbelief and give yourself up to the sometimes ridiculous nature, and the prose isn't always perfect, but does so in a campy way. This feels like the author's passion project, a silly love letter to gothic literature and all things pretentious. The plot points weren't particularly shocking, but they also weren't formulaic or lazy. This plays into tropes and stereotypes in a way that feels like paying homage and sharing an inside joke. I read it all in one day, which is pretty rare for me, even with books I'm extremely interested in or are my favorites.
This book honestly won't be for everyone, but I had a really good time. My favorite part was when a student was called on, and her name was "Ms. Tartt." Author has my heart for that one. Oh, or when the leading girl went 5 rounds in one night, good for her.
In this, her debut novel, Molly Likovich provides a fun, sexy, queer, polyamorous vampire romance that delivers on so many different levels. Compulsively readable and populated by characters you can't help but love, Bite Back is a perfect treat for any aspiring gothic leading lady. Sink your teeth right in!
This book was absolutely incredible. I devoured it in one sitting, the writing was so captivating and the characters were perfect. Loved it so much, cannot wait to read everything this author puts out!
*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review*
4.5/5 Stars
Henry is in her senior year at Davidson College, a pretentious yet prestigious school. While out one night with her best friend George, she meets a mysterious, yet sexy man named Dorian. The next day, she discovers he is her new Classic's professor... and a vampire who wants her to join his throuple. Trying to make a decision, Henry discovers there is a vampire hunting group, the Homerics, that are suspicious of the new professor.
Hello I'm obsessed? I've read multiple stories and things from Molly over the years and her writing never ceases to give me a good time. I read this book in one sitting, and FLEW through it. The writing is so addictive, you can't stop turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. These characters had me smiling like an idiot, or absolutely being annoyed beyond belief (Dorian, I'm looking at you my dude). I love how the story is told not only from Henry's perspective, but other key characters as well. I loved being able to see into their heads, and getting to know them that way as well. I loved George and Eldan's characters as well - they were so much fun and so very loveable. The dialogue between this group was so fun, I was laughing throughout a lot of it. You may ask why I'm only giving it a 4.5/5 if I loved it so much... my answer is Dorian... I really despised his character, and I know that is probably the whole point... but he just made me so angry at times with the way he treated my poor baby Mel... DOWN WITH DORIAN.
ALSO, the vampire sexy times were *chef's kiss*
I am so dang excited for the second book and CAN NOT WAIT TO READ IT BECAUSE THAT ENDING HAS ME REEEEEEEEELING!!
Bite Back is genuinely ridiculously fun. Henry is a classics student who has a love for all things literature and in particualr vampires. A self aware lady, she will be the first to point out that she isn't the main character and question everything odd that starts happening around her. When her class gets taken over by a new super hot professor she finds her life completely changed, particularly when she realises he is a centries old vampire (hello Twilight).
The first book in the Library of Teeth series has a dual POV narrative, following two fun interesting characters.
I couldn’t put this down. Sadly I had too for when I chose to read it. I have a mild form of dyslexia and a large love of books. Though it’s hard for me to sink my teeth into them sometimes if the pacing isn’t juuust Right or if the hook doesn’t catch me right away. This one however did. I liked the mix of POVs and feeling how it was different people. I think for anyone who enjoys vampires and Indie stories. they should check it out and I car wait for the second part and to learn more about our characters.
A wonderful mix of comedy and romance. Molly has created beautiful, compelling characters set against a dark, sexy, and comfortingly familiar backdrop that all gothic fiction fans will fall in love with.
Um ok so I don’t write reviews or comment on anything but I preordered this as soon as Molly mentioned it on her TikTok, which I’ve been graciously following for over a year. I literally almost threw my kindle cause I was so engrossed in the story I didn’t realize I finished it. I loved everything about it, the vampire lore, the queerness, the self-awareness, and all the other good stuff but in such an unproblematic way. I’m gonna be thinking about this book until the second comes out. I haven’t loved a book especially a spicier book, where plot is usually not there, as much as this. Easily a top twenty of the year if not top ten. So proud of the author and I really look forward to her other works!!! (I think this is the first review I’ve ever written in the 7ish years I’ve had GR so feel special)
An absolutely decadently fun time! The first of the library of teeth series, bite back is a super enjoyable and fun romp following Henry and the gang as supernatural shenanigans unfold around them. The pacing makes for an excellent read almost tailor made to get you out of any reading slump you may find yourself in, the characters are so rich and feel like friends sitting next to you while you get coffee, and I’m always here for a bisexual romance with plenty of things to bump in the night, If you catch my drift. Absolutely worth checking out!
This grabbed my attention right away, and didn’t let go of it at all. It was a great story, and an easy, enjoyable read. I can’t wait for the next installment.
Okay, so let’s start with I found this author on TikTok and I enjoyed her vibe, then I read the premise of her book and thought ohhhhhhh this sounds interesting!
It was! I read through this book pretty fast, I laughed a few times because the conversations between Henry (Henrrieta) and the Vampires are legit what a conversation I would have with a group of Vampires that want me to join them. :)
So I’m a reader that truly enjoys the conversation in a book, I get made fun of because people say I should just read screenplays, but I think the conversation is a huge part of a good book. You will get lots of convo in this book and I enjoyed it! I could follow along and while the descriptive wasn’t thick, it was still easy to play it all out in my minds eye as I read.
I felt like I was blushing with Henry and Fey connection, I loved their Car scene. Teehee.
Bite Back is an exciting and fascinating dive in to the world of supernatural romance. With an incredibly genre savvy protagonist and the total willingness to poke fun at other well-known vampire novels, Bite Back is unafraid to have fun with the story, adding an element of levity that makes the tension all the more impactful. Exciting, diverse, and sexy, Likovich knows exactly what she's doing.
I was definitely unsure at first, it was a book recommendation and I never read summaries before I read. Let's just say I was very shocked with the turn out. I absolutely loved the book though! Cannot wait to start the next one!
I was introduced to Molly Likovich with Riding the Headless Horseman. It was such fun I decided to grab this for a diversion during boring times at work. Glad I did, it was a perfect seasonal/Halloween tale and the spice was just a bonus.
I wanted more from this book. I'm not sure if I'll read book 2. I know it's supposed to be a shorter story but the constant twilight and being the main character reference ruined it for me.
God awful. It give of the energy of teenage girl who thinks no one understands her. Cutting herself in a hot topic changing room while listening to blink 182. While her mom waits outside to buy her clothing. Cause she promised to stop cutting herself vibes.
