My Week with the Prince

Rate this book
New York Times bestselling author J. Sterling brings you a fun and flirty romance about falling for a real life Prince during a trip to Ireland. Sometimes the best love stories are the most unexpected.

After my mom died, I was heartbroken and devastated. She left behind a note for myself and my little sister and before we knew what hit us, we were on a plane, bound for Ireland.

Mom had one last wish for

To live our lives.

To have experiences.

To fall in love.

I don’t think she meant for all those things to happen while we were in another country, but just when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball in the form of a Prince, who is unlike any other man you’ve ever met before.

I’ve never felt more alive than I do when I’m with Patrick. He’s like a paintbrush, splashing color into my black and white world.

But this is nothing more than a vacation abroad that has to end…right?

After the passing of their much loved mother, Celeste and Tyra find themselves sitting in their family home feeling very much alone. The answer of what to do next is answered by an envelope from their mother’s lawyer. Two return tickets to Ireland.

The girls had planned to travel there one day with their mum so they are thrilled to be going but also sad it won’t be with her. Upon arrival they meet Patrick who Tyra tries to call dibs on straight away, however it is Celeste that catches the handsome Irishman's eye.

Tyra soon finds herself in the company of another cute Irishman, Blaire and the girls settle into some good old fashioned holiday fun with these incorrigible cute guys. However, it is Celeste that experiences a connection so deeply with Patrick that has her wanting to stay in Ireland. This can’t be right can it? She has only known him for 5 days, yet it feels like so much longer than that.

Upon returning to their hometown in the US, Celeste begins to regret leaving Patrick, has she just made the most regrettable decision of her life?

Like the other two stories in this series, this was a fun novella set in Ireland that was pure reading escapism.

This was a really cute and nice novella. I enjoyed reading it soo much. Celeste and Patrick were soo good for each other. The spark and the smut between them was enough to make your toes curl and I loved it 🥰. What I really liked was that the writer choose Ireland as a main destination for the story. By the way she's describing it it makes me wanna go and live there. In my years living in England I never had the chance to visit Ireland. Maybe when the time is right I can go ❤️.

Thank you yet again to the wonderful J. Sterling for another book that just lights up my heart.

Recently I've come across a lot of stories that are set either in Ireland or have an Irish hero and let me tell you, I'm loving every second of it. I think Celeste said it perfectly....

"And even though it was a little hard to understand what the hell he was saying, I decided that I didn't care. If this man wanted to talk to me all night long, reading out his grocery list, I'd lsten."

My sentiments exactly. Patrick was such a dreamboat (ha old school with that description), but honestly he's my favorite male lead of this Fun For the Holidays series. He's masculine, open with his emotions, doesn't play games, and has a hybrid English and Irish accent. Not sure I even needed a story after reading his first few lines, but I'm glad I managed to compose myself enough to read this short, sweet story.

Celeste was such a great female lead, I loved that she was so open to try something new when her recently deceased mom planned the impromptu adventure to Ireland with her sister. The idea that her mom was behind getting them together was such a magical piece that really tied everything together.

My Week with the Prince is now my favorite book so far and I have a feeling I'll have a new favorite each time another comes out. For now though, Celeste and Patrick's love is perfectly summed up with the brilliant words of J. Sterling.

"In all the storeis and folklores and tales to be worshipped and adored, love had never once been a thing of sanity. It was all-consuming, rule-breaking, logic-defying."

If you're needing something to get you out of a slump, a quick read, or just something to make you feel lighter, these are the books to read!

SHE DID IT AGAIN PEOPLE, SHE DID IT AGAIN.
Third book on the fun for holidays series and it just keeps getting better and better.
Girl you own me so many hours of sleep lol, but losing my sleep was worth it.
Patrick and Celeste stole my heart, but what’s new, all your books always do still my heart.
Their story melt my heart, the way they both fell in love with each other, their connection, the way they never give each other up no matter how hard the distance got.
PATRICK WAS A REAL PRINCE CHARMING who remained me of my own Prince Charming.
Even Tyra and Blaire made me fell in love with them and their craziness, (They would make a good book story).
In other words I AM OBSESSIVELY IN LOVE and cannot wait to see what the next adventure will be.

If you love quick short one sit reads make sure to check out My Week with the Prince! This has been my favorite so far in this series of novellas! This one played like a movie in my mind! Even though it was short I felt like I was there with these characters! Everything does move very fast but I expect that with a novella! I loved Patrick and Celeste! Selfishly I want more! I wasn’t ready for this one to end! I wouldn’t be mad though if someday we got some more on Tyra and Blaire!!! I absolutely recommend this read!!

Received a arc for a honest review.

Short, sweet, and with just the right amount of spice. I enjoyed how Celeste and Patrick’s relationship progressed. The sad moments of mourning were portrayed well. I specifically loved that there wasn’t drama. Just two adults who fell for each other and were not afraid to communicate their feelings. It wasn’t sappy or corny which can sometimes happen with insta love stories.

Now where can I find me an Irish Prince? Feck 😆

This was a fun Ireland vacation romance that sees two sisters travelling in memory of their dead mother and both having flings with two brothers who happen to be princes. One falls hard and while this was a novella the insta-love was a bit too unbelievable/unrealistic for me. Overall a quick, steamy little read that will charm Ireland fans and was good on audio too.

Sister Heal

I am your companion to Ireland. Going to The Prince`s Inn. Patrick and Blaire are men of my hearts desire. The emotions and truths of their characters is a rare find here in the states. Celeste did not have a win win in her heart not being left.

My Week with the Prince is an entertaining, rather cute novella that made me long to travel!
With Celeste and her sisters mother passing, they both receive some news from their mothers Will. This book was so adorable. It was refreshing and made my heart happy. Patrick picks up the girls from the airport for their stay at the Inn. Needless to say the journey they go on is wonderful and certainly good for the soul!
Could meeting Patrick be fate at the hands of her mother? Only one way to find out. Go 1-click and read it for yourself!

This book started off solemn. So solemn that I thought it was a joke. But it wasn’t/ Celeste and Tyra just laid their mom to rest. Not knowing what the next steps would be, Celeste gets a call from a lawyer’s office regarding a will. Celeste and Tyra’s mom made sure that even when she was gone, that they would be set for however long possible. What their mom did was set up a trip for them to Ireland.

I didn’t vibe well with Celeste at first. At 25 she seemed a bit too uptight for me which is understandable, but I also wanted to say “lighten up!”. But Tyra was a ball of fun. When they land in Ireland they’re picked up by a very attractive man. Tyra calls dibs, but it’s Celeste that he can’t take his eyes off of. They have an instant attraction that leads to a mutual bond.

I’m wondering if men not from America are really as heart open as Patrick was. Because if so, sign me up for the next flight. Patrick was loving, caring, honest, and so open. But he was also a Prince. He abdicated the throne, which put him on the outs with his father even though he wasn’t even close to being in line for the throne. Before his mother passed she was the one that encouraged him to move away.

As I’m writing the review, I’m seeing what Jenn did. A nice little parallel between Celeste and Patrick and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Very sneaky. But I love it!

This novella was dual POV! It helped me to see more of Patrick’s side which I salivated over it! Like I wanted more Patrick because he was so swoony!

HEA? Yes.

Steam? Yes.

Tears? A little.

#Royal #Fling #Holiday #Novella
Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this is a standalone that ends with a HEA.
Patrick is a real prince who has left the line of succession to run an inn in Ireland. Celeste and her younger sister have just lost their mother after a long cancer battle. They meet when the sisters take the trip to Ireland that their mother planned for them before her passing. Celest and Patrick have an immediate attraction to each other physically. They are also drawn to each other with a soul-deep connection. They have each experienced the grief of losing their mother. I absolutely adored the way the author allows them to share those feelings and understanding with each other. It forged a bond beyond physical chemistry. I loved how well they communicated with each other, even though they had just met. Their fling comes with an expiration date but neither one really wants to continue without the other. This would make an amazing Hallmark movie though they would need to fade to black a bit.
There are many quotes I highlighted in this one. I also appreciated the inference to Harry and Meghan in this story. My favorite scene was when they visited the Cliffs of Moher. My daughter and I visited Ireland a few years ago and it was truly a magical place for me too. I felt the same comfort and feeling of “coming home” that Celeste felt while in Ireland. I came home fully ready to move to a new country. Alas, now is not the time for that. I do want to go back some day. I would love to show my husband the gorgeous green countryside and have him meet the friendly people there.

#myweekwiththeprince by @authorjsterling is book 3 in the #funfortheholidaysseries

Celeste just lost her mother. She’s been by her side for the last year, putting her life on hold. Now that she’s gone, her and her sister are stuck on what to do next. Until they get the gift of a lifetime. Prior to her death, mom planned an entire Ireland vacation for her girls. So now they can travel to experience life again. Adventure, freedom, and dreams coming true are everything she finds on this trip. But the one thing she didn’t expect was her very own Prince.

Patrick runs an Inn and caters to all kinds of guests. So what’s different about these American sisters that he gets from the airport? He spots this beautiful brunette with a twinkle gone from her eyes. He feels a need to help her find it again. He wants to show her whatever he can to make her happy. The last thing he expected was to get attached so quickly. But fate must have stepped in, because it seems their hearts are already connected.

This was definitely a quick, cute and steamy read. It hit all the points you want in a novella. I’m starting to read more instalove stories now that they’ve grown on me. But with Celeste and Patrick, they had a deeper connection that just outright lust. They both wore their hearts on their sleeves after knowing what it’s like to lose someone you love. They would have done anything to avoid the pain of lost love again. I am absolutely loving this series! Definitely something you can read quick but throughly enjoy!

“Touching her was like playing with fire. And I was ready to get burned.”

Una lectura ligera para pasar el rato.

description

Después de la muerte de su madre, Celeste quedo devastada. Sin embargo, no esperaba que junto al testamento iba anexado un viaje todo pagado junto a su hermana.

«“I can’t seem to let ye go,” he said so sincerely that there was no room for doubt.
I held his hand a little tighter in response to his words. “Don’t then.”
His eyes pulled together. “Don’t what?”
“Let me go.”
“I don’t plan on it.” He brought my hand up to his lips and pressed a kiss there.»

Fue una historia linda con sentimientos encontrados. Un tierno romance instalove, donde ambos protas tienen su POV. De principio a fin me tuvo atrapada.

description

Esta vez sentí que no hubo nada simbólico con la festividad, además del nombre de Patrick. No obstante, eso no le resta nada a la novela.

“But none of that mattered. Because love wasn’t always sensible. In all the stories and folklores and tales to be worshipped and adored, love had never once been a thing of sanity. It was allconsuming, rule-breaking, logic-defying. And that was what we all hoped to find someday. A love thatbroke the mold and made us whole.”

I am seriously loving these novellas from Ms. Sterling. They are fun and light, which is just a perfect little pick me up. This one definitely made me want to go to Ireland (adding this to my vacation bucket list).

I’ll admit I didn’t read the blurb ahead of time, just grabbed the book because I loved the other two books, so I knew I would love this one too. I wasn’t prepared for Celeste losing her mother (lost mine a little over two years ago and it’s still really fresh). I loved that her mother took care of her and her sister them way she did and gave them this amazing trip to Ireland. Turned out to be a truly magical vacation for Celeste.

She meets Patrick when he picks them up from the airport and he is instantly smitten with Celeste. He normally steers clear of the guests but something about her just calls to him. He can see the sadness in her eyes and he understands her pain.

These two embark on a short but passionate week together and neither want what they have to end. How can they make this work when they live thousands of miles apart on different continents? Grab this sweet and beautiful book now and find out.

Celeste and Tyra are grieving the loss of their beloved mother when they learn she planned a trip to Ireland for the girls to enjoy. It’s bittersweet that they finally get to visit Ireland but that she can’t be there with them. Celeste is struggling with her loss and the last thing she wants to do is have a fling, but Patrick is irresistible. Not only is he gorgeous and sweet and an actual prince, he’s working through his own loss and can relate to exactly what she’s going through.

Their story is sweet and fun. I love these characters and just wanted more but I certainly can’t complain because the ending was perfect.

This was such a cute story which is about Celeste Tyra going on a trip to Ireland where Tyra captures the attention of an Ireland man. I love J. Sterling’s books as they are always to the point, fast to read, and have a bit of spice. I loved the cute story in this book and I was very entertained throughout it. The pacing was fast as it’s a short book but everything is spot on with the writing. I loved the Ireland setting and how it was dual povs. Celeste was more of a strict character but I loved seeing her grow in this book. Patrick is amazing and such a sweetheart that I just wanted more of him. There is a main side character, Tyra, and I loved how spirited she was. The romance was cute and I loved the chemistry between the MCs. There’s a HEA and overall this was a great story. I do wish that this book was longer but I can’t wait to see what else Sterling comes up with.

4.5 stars! I am not usually a fan of insta-love but the short stories in the “Fun for the Holidays” series are changing my mind!

Celeste has just lost her mom. She and her sister are ripe for an adventure and they certainly got one courtesy of the the trip to Ireland as a part of their mother’s will.

Celeste and her sister both pair off with handsome Irishmen, but you can tell there is something special between Celeste and Patrick. Sterling makes you feel deeply for them after only a few days of knowing each other. And, I was here for it. Not only was the spark between them was fire hot, but she also describes Ireland in a way that makes me want to go there asap!

This is a terrific little book that renews your faith in love at first sight. There is enough angst to make in interesting and ensure the characters are committed to each other.

And a wonderful quick read if you need a wonderful story to get you out of a book hangover!

take me to Ireland

I’m loving these holiday stories! This is the second one that has me wanting to travel. Ireland is on my bucket list. I looked up one of the mist-see places visited in the book. Spectacular!

Celeste and Tyra just lost their mother to cancer after a long hard fight. Upon getting her will from the attorney , Celeste finds out their mother booked them a trip and financially prepared for everything. They didn’t have much growing up, but their mother did well for their future. On short notice, they leave for their trip only to get picked up at the airport by a handsome man. Sparks fly quickly and he even has a friend for Tyra. A week in Ireland with handsome men and sparks… maybe their mother was onto something after they gave everything up to be there for her. Now I’m ready to book my trip!

cute instalove

I have to admit that I’m not a huge fan of instalove. It feels too over the top for me. Add in a secret prince, and this became a little way over the top for me. But it’s short and sweet and harmless. There’s very low angst and pretty likable characters. A mom dies and has arranged for her daughters to take an all expense paid trip to a certain inn in Ireland within a few days of her funeral. There’s never an explanation on how or why the mom chose this one place. I think it would have added to the story for there to have been an explanation for that. Once they arrive, they immediately fall for the inn owner and his best friend. That’s about the whole story. Short and sweet.

I really enjoyed the insta connection between Celeste and Patrick, it wasn’t just attraction, their connection was on a deeper level. Patrick was just so swoon worthy and his grand gesture was so good. The descriptions of Ireland just want me want go visit even more. Their story did not feel rushed or incomplete. I would love to see a novella about Tyra and Blaire.

This is book three in the Fun For the Holidays series. These are quick read novellas, that can be read in one sitting. This series has one book for every month of the year. I enjoy reading theses in between the longer books I read.

Listened to on @audible
Narrated by Richard Sawyer and Sarah Sampan. I love a man with an accent! They did such a great job narrating.

Totally recommend!

This booked packed a lot of punch for a novella! I’ve read all of the Fun for The Holidays books, and this one was by far the most emotional for me, but it still had its light and fun moments. I loved that it had this PS I Love You kind of vibe (except with the loss of a mom) and Celeste and Patrick have this instant chemistry with a back drop of Ireland that is described in such detail you will feel like you are there! Their story is quick, steamy and full of insta love with not too much drama between the two of them. By the end of the book you will be wanting to pack your bags for your own Irish adventure!

Heartwarming, sweet, holiday romance with a happy ending that has left me feeling very happy! Just what I needed.

Celeste had looked after her sick mother for a year before she died. Her younger sister Tyra had been there for the last few weeks. When their mum died, neither of them really knew what they were going to do next.

After Celeste is called in to see a solicitor she is given some good news and an envelope addressed to them both. Back at the house they open it together to find a fully paid trip for them both to Ireland in a few days time, somewhere her mother had wanted to visit.

A life changing adventure begins for the sisters. Fab story!
