Just watched her episode on “Soft White Underbelly”, and wanted to read about her story in greater detail….her life was truly insane!✨🫣

I decided to read Through These Brown Eyes after watching Angelica Robles’ episode on the Soft White Underbelly YouTube Channel. Her story intrigued me, and I was excited to see that she had written a book about it.
The first few chapters are almost word-for-word how she tells her story in the episode, which made it feel like I was reading a transcript rather than a deeper dive into her experiences. That had me wondering how the rest of the book would unfold. Unfortunately, after hearing her tell her story out loud, I felt like the book only skimmed the surface. I expected more detail—more insight—but instead, she skipped over a lot. It feels like a missed opportunity to really expand on her experiences.
She mentioned that she wrote this book in just a few days (I believe she said three), and that definitely shows. She skips around a lot, and the story doesn’t have a flow. It just tells short snippets on certain parts of her life. I still gave it four stars because I respect that she’s not a seasoned author, and this is her first book—one about her own life, no less. There’s no hate here. But I can’t help but wonder why her agent or editor didn’t encourage her to go deeper. There are also some overlooked grammatical errors that could have been cleaned up.
One of the biggest disappointments for me was how she barely touches on a major part of her story. In her episode, she shares that she unknowingly married the son of a cartel drug dealer while working undercover as an FBI agent. After he read her book, he was compelled to confess everything. That’s a huge revelation—yet in the book, she barely acknowledges it. That could have been such a powerful part of her story, but instead, it’s just grazed over.
Overall, I’m just disappointed for her because this book could have been so much more. If you’re interested in her story, I’d honestly recommend watching her Soft White Underbelly episode on YouTube.

No Ray of Hope
Hmmm, I’m confused 😵💫 🤔⁉️Did I miss something⁉️How is it possible to work as an independent contractor for the federal government with a high security clearance and the identities of ”new” relatives don’t surface. Nope 🙂↔️, impossible‼️More so, the conflict of interest was blatantly obvious. Yet, no one asked the awkward/humiliating/embarrassing basic question (s) or volunteered an explanation for the criminal activities & or the absences, EVER🤷🏾♀️⁉️ Ten years together, two children & there’s no ray of hope⁉️Hmmm, sounds like Mr. Ray was the convenient scapegoat for Ms. Angelica that continue her bucket list of adventures & affiliations…Ms. Robles clearly is an adrenaline junkie and enjoys an adventurous and an eclectic lifestyle with pre established vocation & personal parameters. “Through These Brown Eyes” was an interesting read, disjointed but also convoluted. However, I wasn’t impressed by her accomplishments 🤷🏾♀️‼️

Angelicas life is truly fascinating, how anyone can have so much happen in their lives and still come out stronger than ever is amazing. Strength and optimism that never quits. I think it's something you are born with and she was born with it in spades. Anyone who knows her, knows that she really is an 'all in' kind of person. Once she sets her mind on something, heaven help anything that try's to stand in her way. She loves fiercely and is so passionate about everything, I love to just let it wash over me and go with the flow that is her force. I look forward to the next chapters in her life, because now that she's been unleashed, nothing but awesomeness is to come.
