A Land Unknown is an astonishing true story of one man's incredible journey to Hell and back, truly, a must read for those curious about the near-death experience written from the Christian perspective.
This was a mesmerizing account. I’ve read some other Near Death Experience (NDE) stories but this was the first that made me realize there is an initial deception of paradise at the beginning of hell. If people come back to life during that time, they are misled to believe they were entering Heaven. Consequently, they and others hearing about their NDE are falsely persuaded that nobody really has to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This spreads the lie of universalism. This also explains the large number of pleasant NDEs reported by the unsaved and is one of the more terrifying aspects of this entire account.
This real life drama will bring understanding to the believers and nonbelievers about what hell is really like. It’s written the way it happened, and for those us who simply cannot explain in the right way why to get saved, this book is the ideal book for nonbelievers to read.
Excellent hell testimony...very humbling. It will make you think hard about your eternal salvation. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, he lovingly awaits you!
This was an exceedingly well written book. The testimony is so very powerful. I also found it highly disturbing, even traumatic, but it was well worth it to explore the concept of hell.
I also have read/heard many near death and i certainly do not believe them all. the thing I appreciated about this book was God's explanation of "how can a good God send people to hell" The author is wrestling with this and other questions I think we ask ourselves. and that we all need to answer. Is God real? is he Good? is he is control? why are there any humans in hell? this book was not something you read while you eat. it was not entertaining it was a bit disturbing and rightly so. the most important question we could ask ourselves "Where are you going to spend eternity?'.
The author of this book, Mr. Bryan Melvin, describes an interesting experience he went through after dying because of ingesting contaminated water with Vibrio cholerae. According to his account he met Lord Jesus in the afterlife and since he was not part of the Body of Christ he was sent to Hades or the abode of the dead which he calls a land unknown, hell’s Dominion. Although he grew up as a Christian, he subsequently became an atheist and used to sustain his points of view through a series of arguments to explain that God does not exist, and if He does then should be view as a criminal with intent. Once in Hell he was given the “opportunity” to visit such a place and for his surprise he found out that a lot of deceased people are stored in 10 by 10 feet cubicles where the individual reaps what he sowed in life. According to his account, there are different levels of punishment, and the dead are constantly arriving to such a hideous place which is administrated by an army of demons who torment them day and night. However, the way he was initially welcomed into this place was very deceptive since demons tried to give him the impression that he arrived to Paradise, but nothing could have being further from the truth. He goes on describing the kind of torments people confined in cells go through and the kind of illusions that are portrayed before them forcing them to relive the awful experiences they inflicted to others, but in situations where they were the victims rather than the perpetrators. At the end he was given the opportunity to come back to life and after several years of writing he published his experiences for others to change their course of life seeking Lord Jesus in this life and understand that the purpose of this existence is to make life live and not ugly and what the person reaps is what he sowed.
I was a lukewarm Christian before realizing I needed to do more. I was stuck in crisis mode not realizing how to get out no matter how many search engines I looked on, videos I watched, advice articles I read. I was lost for hope until I purchased a Bible. Things changed with little effort except reading God's work. A work that lead me to this book eventually. Truly is a great read and the details bring out a wide range of emotion. What an experience that must have been and to meet Jesus's an bow down before him. i hope one day i and my loved ones get to experience that. I love how the author tells a little bit about his life prior, the details of the creatures in hell, the details of the cubes, the sensations he felt, the trapped souls and the experience after. Also liked the details in the last chapter explaining more in depth what the chapters meanings were. I read he ommited certain details, and I found myself skipping some sentences that the demons chanted because it just felt wrong to repeat. So im glad if they were worse, it was left out. I read it a few times in the beginning, felt off and caught on when it was being repeated again then skipped. It's the authors truth so I understand why it was put in but again, glad he skipped out on even worse things being said lol. Overall a great read and I'm still not finished. I still need to go back and find the hidden message in italics which is something new to me but given his experience, I'm eager to try. Overall a great book and one that reminds us all to keep our relationship with Jesus Christ strong and encourage others lovingly to do the same so they do not suffer for eternity.
I prayed in recent weeks for God to show me more about his personality, because I could not shake the image of God as a disappointed father. He has shown over and over that he loves me, but I could never imagine that He could personally like me.
He answered my prayers by introducing me, through the Shawn Ryan podcast, to the works of Lee Strobel and John Burke who he interviewed. They are documenting current day miracles, visions and near death experiences where people meet angels, and are shown the absolute joy and all consuming love and compassion that is experienced in the presence of Jesus.
I also found the Almost False podcast, where former satanists, mediums, and others who have become Christians give their testimony to interacting with demons and unclean spirits. Mr Melvin was a guest on the podcast and shared his testimony which is included in this book. Both are very worthy of your attention.
There is so much more going on in the world than what the materialist worldview would ever acknowledge. I pray now that everyone hears about the enormity of what God has done for them.
This book needs to be read again and again. It is deep and provokes one to think deeply. Bill wiese account of hell is the best book I've read but this book comes at this topic from another angle. It attempts to answer all the deep big questions people have about why, why. It might be of benefit to people who have a deep need to know why. I am a born again christain and have no desire to know why. The gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple that a child could grasp it. And from there simply believing the bible should be enough. The bible says there is a hell, so I belive it. It says hell is eternal so I believe it. However some people need a book like this in order to belive so this book is a good book to read. Aligns with the bible and I pray it blesses many people. The writing style is easy and simple to follow and the post-lude is a really good section as it gives insights to each chapter.
Good background info to main story before bring in hell. It took 4 chapters to get there. After reading the addendum it's clearer by the author wrote the book in his manner. It's an interesting view of hell, but it was not clear if everyone ends up in the lake of fire at the end times or stays in there cubes. Lots of repetition, like when he sits back down to write he repeats alot as well as repeats alot of quotes over and over and over, the same quote- i started to glance over sections. Also, not very clear on how the cubes are organized. Not very clear about much really. Not enough scripture in book but he did mention he does not want to scare readers off. Thx for writing the book.
Brian I was sent a link on Facebook and saw your YouTube interview which caught my interest. I then saw your interview on Daystar which I love to watch and I said I need to read this guy's book. This book brought on alot of feelings some I am not sure where to place but the testimony of this book was amazing. I am in awe of what you went through. The way you wrote about the interventions and riddles hit home and made things click like a seat belt. That may sound funny but i dont know how else to explain it. I hope this book is read by people everywhere. I give it five stars 🌟
B.W. Melvin captured my attention from page one. I read the entire book without ever wanting to put it down. Melvin describes with great detail the function and design of Hell. His descriptions bring the reader into the same experience as the author. I gave only four stars because of the style of writing. The verbiage used was challenging, and the repetition of words, phrases, and descriptions got laborious. The writing style is not for casual readers. That being said, I enjoyed the book tremendously because of the revelations provided about God, our creation, and Hell.
This was a great testimony! I know in my spirit this is true because I could hear the voice of the angel of the Lord when he spoke.
The riddles were grand and lyrically beautiful to my ears and my soul. No devil could EVER speak so lavishly...
The way the Most High accepted his challenge, but first humbled him, and then gave him an authoritative response to the questions in his mind... wow...
The Most High is AMAZING!! There is NONE like him!!!
Thank you for this elaborate, truthful testimony!!!
This book should be read by everyone, believers as well as non-believers.
He goes into as much detail about his experiences as he can without scaring the reader. I've often had questions about what happens when someone goes to hell, now I question if I've lived my life in a manner to NOT go there myself. I pray that I have.
I can tell that the author is a simple person trying to describe a horrifying yet real supernatural experience. I read through the book in one day. It was hard to put down. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know about God, justice, and how we are held accountable for our actions.
I first came across this man's testimony on yt and found it fascinating, so I bought his book. Well worth the purchase. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in NDE and after-death experiences. They are not all "sunshine and roses and embracing bright light" tales.
Melvin is one of the witnesses, like Jesus, who returned from death to bear witness to what he saw and heard! We do well, IMO, to take seriously his testimony & take the road that God provides "to make life live" as brother Melvin chose to do.
No preaching or pressure. It's up to you to judge and decide what the author presents. Personally, I think it's the most effective type of gospel. Thank you Mr. Melvin.
It was good but terribly repetitive at times. The content felt stretched to fill a book. On the other hand I'm certain the author was working overtime to convey a thorough message.
Loved everything about this book. Included deeply moving accounts about the Lord and many powerful revelations. This is also one of the most Biblically sound near death experiences I’ve ever heard (and I’ve heard plenty) - there’s only One Way! Couldn’t put this book down. Highly recommend!
A very good book to read and worth the time and money. There is many books on this topic and many of them is a waste of time and money with lots of lies but not this one.
This book will give you a lot to think about, and will give you more questions than answers if you really ponder it. At some points it can yank on your heart in a way that will change your perspective of the gospel. I'm sure there is so much more to his experience than he could tell, but what comes across in this account is enough to give pause to what we're doing here and the consequences of our actions.
