Ever hear the kid song, Jack and Beau sitting in a tree K I S S I N G? Well, she met me when I was up in a tree, but kissing her has never been an option. She isn’t the kind to fall for a daredevil. And I’m a Formula One race car driver. Adrenaline Junkie is my middle name. Taking risks and tossing my fate to the wind is what I do. Being her friend is no longer enough. Can I find a way to hold onto her, when we are so intrinsically different?

Meet Jack Adrenaline junky, who happens to be an F1 driver who's been in love with his best friend since forever. But he thought he could never have her...
And Beau. She's a lost soul who's been in love with her best friend since forever. There's just one problem... Isn't there always? 😉
You'll have to read HIS TO HOLD to find out what the problem is.
This second gen, best friends to lovers romance was epic and engaging from start to finish. This is Jack and Beau's story. Best friends since childhood, their wires get crossed as they both develop deeper feelings, but for multiple reasons, they keep them secret. When the floodgates open, however, this story turns steamy and consuming all at once. There's no question, no will or won't they, they're all in. This story is really one of how they complete each other, how they're unequivocally meant to be, and how fiercely they're going to hold onto each other.
With Beau's close proximity to Jack's family, there's a lot of interaction with Sasha, Jack's fathers, and all his siblings. They way they interact is cute, supportive, and I love the way they revel in their uniqueness. As an avid lover of the Quintessence series, it does my heart so much good to see everyone thriving or coming together when times get tough.
And I pray this story gets enough traction because the tease that is Rosie and Bash gives me goosebumps. This is a romance that takes place around Christmas, and it was an excellent gift to read during the holiday season.
This Next Gen, Friends to Lovers was Perfect!! I absolutely LOVE Jack and Beau. Their banter made this book and the presence of the Dubois Family cracked me up. Definitely a One-Click worthy book.
I adored Jack and Beau’s story ❤️ From reading about them in His to Keep I wanted to know what was going on with these best friends. After finally getting to read it I thought that the reason they weren’t together was quite funny and all a miscommunication. I loved how much they loved each other and how much Jack’s family loved Beau.
I enjoyed seeing all of the family again in this book and now I definitely need to go and read about the families. I won’t spoil anything but this series is a must read as is anything that Serena writes.
I truly hope that we get a Bash and Rosie story because towards the end of this book I was fully invested in them.
Jack and Beau are pure perfection. I read this book in one go. I loved every second. Jack was so swoon-worthy and Beau is my kind of girl with just the right amount of sass. I loved seeing all the Dubois family together again. It was such a beautiful Christmas read for me. Only thing now is I want more in this series and I'm so excited for Bash and Rosie. This author again has proven she can write anything and i will love it. I'll just sit here patiently and wait for the next book to be released. I would highly recommend this five star read , it was amazing.
The heroine doesn't believe in labels which leads to the hero thinking that she's a lesbian. Can't blame him though because she's only dated women. The pining lasted for like 5 seconds before they resolved the confusion. And here I am halfway done with the book and there's literally no need to have 150 more pages when the leads are already together and everyone's happy. The story just feels bland now. I'm also approaching a slump so maybe that's the reason?
I just loved absolutely loved this story I couldn’t put it down. Again this is the next generation story of Jack Dubois the youngest son off sascha and her Harem jack is a F1 driver and an adrenaline junkie and when he is on the race track he takes risks that could end badly for him since his best friend Beau stop going to watch him race because she couldn’t watch him take the risk he was taking because she wanted to be more than just friends she loved him.
Jack and Beau have know each other since they were teenagers and over the years there feelings for each other had change and grow but they have never told each other how they felt about each other and so her heart didn’t get hurt any more Beau pulled away from jack because she didn’t agree with the risk he was taking on the race track. until the end off the F1 sessions when jack came home because his parents had a party for him winning when everything chances for them both.
I loved this story there is lots off love and warm fuzzy feels and it’s set around the Christmas session and as always there is a lot going on in the Dubois house hold not only with jack and Beau but his other siblings as well so lots off drama this definitely a must read book loved it ❤️
I fell in love with Jack and Beau from the very first page. This next generation is even more than I could have wished for! Serena Akeroyd has pulled at the heartstrings in this beautiful Christmas time story that shows the depth of writing she is known for. She breathes life into characters that could step off the page right into your front room. You'll fall in love with all of the Quintessence Family as they face another tribulation, as life is never a smooth road to travel.
Jack has always felt like he never fit into his family who are all intellectuals. He's different in that he'd rather be doing anything than sitting around using his brains. He has always been a risk taker but lately something has been missing from his life. Jack has privately loved his best friend since he was fifteen and she had just moved onto the estate his family owns. Beau, the best friend who has always been at his side, has turned away from his careless need to race around a track putting his life on the line. She's secretly loved him just as long as she has known him. She can't handle watching Jack possibly crash and not make it out the other side any more so she stopped going to his races. Both of them are just coasting along in their lives, wishing that they could tell the other exactly how they feel but there are obstacles. Jack thinks Beau is gay and loves only women and Beau thinks Jack doesn't care about anything except winning his next championship. For years they've both denied themselves love because the one they truly wanted wasn't available. Until one night before Christmas when the truth finally comes out that Beau isn't gay and Jack finally gives her the kiss that sets their future on the right track.
This is the Christmas love story that will melt your heart. Grab your comfy blanket and curl up for a heartwarming volume in this series.
What a wonderful story Serena has given us in His To Hold, book #2 in the Quintessentially Theirs series.
We met Jack briefly in his brother Tin's story, and here we learn so much more about the youngest Dubois.
Isabeau (Beau) Killian and her widowed father Julian end up living in a house on the Bishop Rosen estate in Surrey when he is employed as a Financial Manager by Andrei.
From their first meeting at age 14, we find out how Beau and Jack first met and how their friendship developed throughout the years.
Beau is at a loss in her life, mainly through grief and her seemingly unrequited love for Jack.
Jack, a champion F1 driver for the Sabre team appears to be on self-destruct mode taking high octane risks in this dangerous sport. Luckily we find out the reason behind his actions.
Due to a mistaken belief by the whole family and specifically Jack they remained in the friend zone... until
It is so good to meet all the greater Dubois family again.
There are some humorous moments, as well as angst, tears, drama, intrigue, twists, steam and magical family dynamics.
This is such a lovely story and I do hope Serena continues to write more about this fascinating family. Loved it.
His to Hold is book two in the Quintessentially Theirs Series. It’s the story of Jack Dubois and Isabeau (Beau) Killian. They’ve been best friends since they met over 16 years ago and although they have feelings for each other, they don’t know it! Jack is an F1 driver and he’s a daredevil, so much so that Beau and his family stopped going to see him race, no one can stand his speed and the way he defies dead at every turn. One night, Jack and Beau are together again and after a massive misunderstanding they realize that things can be different between them and holy hotness!!! Get ready for this race, it was fun and exhilarating and beautiful and oh my 😍 I never thought sweet talking could be so sexy! These two are goals!
This is both my first book I read by Serena and my first F1 romance and I’m hooked! Serena’s way to include the entire family was outstanding! This is not an ordinary family but they love fiercely and I’m looking forward to reading their stories as well! I laughed and swooned in equal measure. I read this book so quickly, I didn’t want to stop! So, so, so good! I loved how well Jack and Beau worked together, it was like a well oiled machine, pun intended! I also loved learning all that’s behind an F1 race, it’s definitely more than just some fast cars going around a circuit 😅 I’m hoping Serena will give us another book in the series (Bash and Rosie 😉).
"Jack lived. He triumphed. He burned with an inner flame that drew me to him like I was a moth."
"I've been waiting for you to kiss me since I was fifteen."
"I reveled in the knowledge that he was mine and I was his. His to hold. Forever."
Uuuhhhh....Jack and Beau are absolute perfection!! Their love for one another is beyond words. They spent so many years thinking that they couldn't have each other. Both pining after an unrequited love. One night changes all that. Their love is explosive, passionate, and oh so swoon worthy! They take their relationship to a whole other level and I am here for it!!!
I love the fact that we get more of the family aspect in this book as well. Seeing Sascha, the Dads, and the other siblings is such a fun aspect to this book that I wasn't expecting. It definitely makes me want more of Bash and Rosie's story!!!!
His To Hold is definitely a lighter, sweeter romance than I am used to reading from Serena, but I loved it anyway! Jack and Beau have been friends forever but have been separated because of a misunderstanding. Jack thought Beau was gay and because she left him on the racing circuit he was taking risks he shouldn’t have been. Now, they have cleared the air, shared their secrets and found the strong connection that they always have had. So, get ready and enjoy this wonderful friends to lovers story as they take the next step towards their happily ever after.
Jack and Beau are just beautiful together! I loved this Christmas story soo much! The characters are great and I was so happy to read about Sascha and the Quints again. I really like the little twists and unique story parts Serena Akeroyd has in each and every one of her books! The writing is great every time and I can't put down her books! What a great way to end the reading journey of this year with such a lovely book!
This book is a great continuation of on of my most favorite series! Beau and Jack had a hard time telling each other how they feel but once they do. The drama this family brings is fabulous. I defiantly need more about the quintessence kids!
This book is so good. Jack and Beau loved each other since they were kids but they didn't think the other felt the same. One night at a party all of that changed. Seeing them finally come together and find their strength in each other was amazing. Another home run book by Serena Akeroyd.
Reading His to Hold is like coming home to see your extended and rather crazy family for Christmas. It’s chaotic and full of drama, but ultimately heartwarming and enjoyable.
This instalment of the Quintessentially Theirs series follows Jack (Sascha’s youngest child) and Beau. They’ve been the best of friends since teenagers but everybody (Jack included) thinks Beau’s gay and nobody imagines the two of them will get together. Once Beau disabuses Jack of that notion, the story can get going and we get tossed in the middle of all the bonkers happenings that go hand in hand with the Dubois family.
There are some absolutely brilliant moments courtesy of overbearing parents and others with no filter. In stark contrast, there are also times when your heart is in your throat and all you can do is pray that the inevitable doesn’t happen. For fans of the Quints there are plenty of classic Devon moments that will have you laughing hysterically.
The book is a wonderful read about the coming together of family around the Christmas period and how love really does make everything that much better.
Wow! There is a lot going on in this book! Very strong family dynamics and a truckload of family drama. Jack is a race car driver and many people worry about his safety and recklessness, including his best friend Beau. Beau is a lot! She wants to be a strong independent person but I think She’s a little immature and needs more support than she will admit. When her and Jack finally confess their true feelings for each other, I don’t think to many people are surprised! This was a very layered very entertaining read. Both main characters have a lot going on around them, but have a pretty good balance. I enjoyed all the different strong personalities. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Jack and Beau have been best friends since her father started working for Jack’s family. The issue is that something has grown between them over the last couple of years. Jack is taking more and more risks on the track and Beau refuses to continue to travel with him and watch the self-destruction. Jack cannot figure out what is wrong but when Beau announces that she is going to move into the city, Jack knows that he needs to intercept. He cannot loose the woman that he loves…even if she can never love him back. But not everything is as it seems. Beau is holding onto a secret of her own. One that could have a significant impact on their relationship.
Serena Akeroyd continues to amaze me with the complexity of her characters and stories. This time we were able to get more on the Quints and how they have continued to grow and evolve. This story is centered around the Dubois family and how they are accepting of anyone and everyone, no matter what. I am really hoping that we are going to get the rest of Jack’s siblings!
His to Hold is a continuation of the Quintessence series, based on the next generation the family we have all come to know and love. This next installment is wonderful, bringing both previous generation series together, and perfect for this time of year. Best friends to lovers based around Christmas, it was sweet, funny, and full of romantic moments. How Serena can write about Mobsters and MCs and then write these sweet heartwarming wonderful stories shows just how amazing of a writer she is and the depth of her range. A feel good book for a feel good time of year. Perfection, give me more of this next generation please!!!!
HIS TO HOLD by Serena Akeroyd is book Two in the Quintessentially Theirs Series. This is the story of Jack Dubois and Isabeau (Beau) Killian. Jack and Beau meet when they are teenagers and become best friends. But Beau has always had a crush on Jack which in their present day has made things hard for her and maintaining their friendship. But more upsetting to Beau is how reckless Jack in as a race car driver and in life. Beau lost her mother early in life and doesn't want to loose any one else. So she has puled away from Jack. Jack too has felt more than friendship with Beau but a misunderstanding towards Beau has kept him from going forward with those feelings. This was a wonderful read. Love Ms. Akeroyd's writing so I do recommend this book/series.
I loved Beau and Jack. I have a soft spot for best-friends to lovers, and while their romance wasn't sweet, it was filled with longing and want and heart-bursting need. They were everything. The second those two got their act together you knew their future was a forgone conclusion. This book just makes you feel. There's a lot of set up for future books in this world, and not just with the second-generation clan. Their family keeps expanding, and I'm looking forward to a return to the Kingdom of Veronia. It's been my favourite series by Serena Akeroyd so far, and I don't even like royalty romance. They're just that good.
“He burned with an inner flame that drew me to him like I was a moth.”
I had no idea how much I needed Beau and Jack!
Childhood friends, to lovers, family intervention, loss, love. So much shared history. Throw in the drama of F1 racing, royalty, an amazing cast of characters from Quintessence, I loved this couple so hard.
“You were my balance. My equilibrium.”
The years wasted between them, crossed wires, misconceptions. Self doubt. These two were destined from the first day Jack laid eyes on Beau.
As with everything Ms. Akeroyd’s written I fell in love with the next generation from page one. I shed a tear for Bash. I know I need his story now more than ever.
His To Hold is a super sweet story about two best friends figure out they've both been pining after each other for years. This is definitely not the usual Serena Akeroyd story, a little bit lighter on plot, but still very fulfilling with characters you can't help but love. Just a beautiful story ❤. Hoping we'll get stories for everyone!
His to Hold is book 2 in the Quintessentially Theirs series.
This book involved best friends Jack and Beau, and their friends to lovers story. It was such a perfect mix of attraction, friendship and steam, blended with a sports and holiday theme. All these elements combined to make a fabulous end of the year, feel good read!
While this is a bit of a departure from Serena's darker books, we still get our visits from previous characters in other books, one of her signature staples.
Crossing my fingers we have more to look forward to in this series!
Okay, this was a very good read and yes I want more. Jack and Beau are childhood best friends and he is this daredevil that lives his wildest dreams at the race track. Beau is the girl that everyone loves and adores.
But she is afraid to lose Jack so she does what she can to stay away.. cause she loves him and well what if..
This is a sweet, warm and good story about best friends and a cute little corgi. It is so good and just the book you need to read.
This book was beyond fantastic. I could not stop reading and was very glad that I had extra time so I could read longer. It moves along at a pace which makes for a relaxing read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you have known them forever and no matter what happens you want to be there for them. You cannot help but love them. This book needs to be read, there is no doubt that this book needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.
His To Hold is the second installment of the Quintessentially Theirs collection from Serena Akeroyd. This book features Jack and Beau as our leading couple and what a couple they are. This book is a bit of a departure from Akeroyd’s usual dark and angsty reads but she shows she is more than capable of this task. This is a book your soul needs after a rough day, week, or year. Jack and Beau’s love is as easy as breathing for them and sometimes that is just what a reader needs. You will positively swoon over Jack and you will want to be best friends with Beau. This story is even more perfect because it is set at Christmas time and who doesn’t want to see our favorite Quints in the holiday spirit. His To Hold was like coming home when you didn’t realize you were homesick and meeting new friends once you got there. I will also say as a reader that I am desperate for Bash and Rosie’s tale and am begging Akeroyd to continue this generation of stories. Because if you loved the original Quints then you are going fall just as easily for their children. Oh, and this book contains an adorable Corgi so it gets even better!
I hadn't read the original series with the parents as the main characters but after reading this book, I'm thinking I should because they are very dynamic characters. However, this second generation is special. I love the friendships and characters. Jack and Beau were very cute together. Yet, it was the connection between these characters and their parents that stole the show.
I hope that Rosie and Bash get a story. I can only imagine that the road for them to get their happily ever after will be bumpy.
I didn't think I'd love a Quintessence next Gen story more than Tin and Etta's His to Keep, but I was wrong! His to Hold is Jack and Beau's story and it is all the everythings. Jack is the adrenaline junkie F1 racer with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He talks back and doesn't behave himself. Beau is his best friend. Through His to Keep we see Jack pine for his friend who he thinks is untouchable and we know he is suffering as a result. Well this is the story of how love finally brings them together.
This is a gorgeous love story. There is a lot of emotion and depth to this story not just for Jack and Beau but for our much beloved Sascha and her men (and Jack's siblings too). It is so intriguing to learn more about what happened to the 6 adults after the Quintessence trilogy was done and there is definitely MUCH more to learn about Bash and his love for Rosie.
But at the core of His to Hold is a passionate and steamy love story between two best friends who are already soul mates, but are finding perfection together as partners, colleagues and everythings.
