Book 11. Aurora is back in this book. Is Wyatt going to propose to Rory. And if he does will she say yes. Vale a fairy \ witch one of Rory friends has took over Yuletide Yummies. And Vale wants to have a contest with a wonderful Gingerbread House. There were items in Vale shop and Clarance the vampire pub and Nutty the talking squrirrel were having someone stealing there food. Rory is doing some work for Mrs. Claus Clara. And she has her own ice sculpting shop. Clara gave Rory a snowflake necklace and told her that she can make a portal from it and go anywhere she desires. Then Rory got like notes that seemed cryptic and she thought it was Wyatt her bear shifter boyfriend ( she thought that he was just making it sound cryptic ) but come to find out it was someone else entirely These books in these series are great fun reads. They have Different Authors in this series. And different characters in series. I recommend if you love make believe fantasy you will love these cute books

Rory has more than one mystery to solve in this novella set in Holiday Haven. Rory's magic is on the fritz, Wyatt is acting secretive, and there are thieves in Holiday Haven. Likable characters who are flawed, engaging little mysteries and magic made this an enjoyable read.

The mystery itself was fine but annoyances I tolerated in the prior books really grated on me in this book so I think I'm done with this author. Rory regularly being afraid, nervous, worried, etc. in the first book made sense because of her situation. In this book, when she has a loyal group of friends and is a valued part of the community, it doesn't. I don't like whiny main characters and both the writing, as I just cited, combined with the narration, really plays that up, though I doubt that's the intention.

Similarly, Wyatt is supposed to be Rory's dreamboat and they're supposed to have a loving relationship but Rory expressed more than once fear of Wyatt's reaction (not as in a normal trepidation but as in actual fear), fear of his bear's reaction, etc. and his dialogue came across as a bit controlling even though I'm sure that's not the author's intention. If Rory was a real person, I'd sit her down to talk about red flags and how to communicate better with Wyatt.

Lastly, some of the things Rory does or thinks about doing just don't make sense. Early in the book she gets a showglobe as a gift and when she shakes it, she gets a slight but noticeable jolt or zap. Yes, that's weird but instead of mentioning it to someone or investigating the snowglobe further she thinks about smashing it in the trash. Really? And that's just one example.

Overall the Holiday Haven series is fun but I'm definitely liking some authors better than others.

Perfect winter cozy mystery

💖 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 Genre: Cozy mystery, urban fantasy

Rory and the gang are back solving yet another mystery. This time, random items are being stolen from just about every business in town. Can Rory clear her name in time?

💕 Positives:
* Rory accepts a lot of responsibility in this story.

* A bunch of mini mysteries were built into the storyline, including magical penguins.

* Loved the gingerbread house competition. The winner surprised me, but still it was a neat sub plot.

* There is a neat side topic on prisioner reform. I like how Clara went about it.

* The ending!!! Such a heartwarming, cozy and amazing ending. 💖💖💖💖

🚫 Negatives: None.

⚡Content Warning: None.

🌟 Overall, I loved this book! It's bittersweet though since this is the last one in the series for Rory and the Humbugs. I hope that author decides to add more to this series. Rory is such a sweet character and I enjoyed reading about her.

The mystery was tricky to solve, but there were subplots along the way to work through as well.

I loved the ending. Everything was wrapped up with the absolutely best gift Rory could get (and give). It was such a good book! Just wish that the series didn't end here. Hopefully in the future, Bella Falls might add on to this storyline.  Fingers crossed.

Out of all the series..

.. Aurora Hart and the Humbugs shine. Moral without preaching she's the bad girl turned good and proof that no matter what choices and mistakes you make you can turn your life around.

Aurora, Rory to her friends, is given a special charge by Clara Claus to act as a guardian and help protect Holiday Haven and the North Pole using some of Clara's powers on condition she tells no one.

When small thefts throughout Holiday Haven seem to be increasing rather than stopping she tries to help find the culprits but overwork and worries about getting the right gift for Wyatt means she misses a vital connection between a gift and her powers weakening thinking it's caused by the poor health she's suffering from.

When the truth is finally discovered Rory feels like she failed Clara's test and yet Clara see's that the mistake was hers in hiding the truth Rory was unable to draw on the help and support of the humbugs and that support is vital part of Rory's strength.

But can Rory find the right solution for person who caused her harm? Can she give them the same help and advice to make them realise that they too can move forward, reverse the damage they have done and change the path from bad choices to good?

This is another book in the Witches of Holiday Haven series. This is the continued story of Rory Hart. The book begins with Rory realizing that she has so many orders for her ice sculptures that she will be busy right up until Christmas. Rory becomes concerned because her and her boyfriend, Wyatt don't seem to have time together anymore. She is worried about their relationship. And she's keeping a big secret from him that weighs heavily on her.

The townsfolk of Holiday Haven have reported many items being stolen. Buzz the towns police officer calls a town meeting trying to get clues on who the thief could be. Meanwhile, Rory has discovered her magic seems to be failing her. She's worried her business may be in trouble.
When suspicions arise concerning the thief, Rory thinks she may be able to find the culprit. She doesn't tell anyone about her plans and puts herself in great danger.

This book continues with the "humbug" group front and center. This was a wonderful conclusion to Rory's story. I like the fact that each of the main characters have 3 books devoted to them by the same author. I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of the series, and finding out more about the residents of Holiday Haven.

Even though the Holiday Haven books can be read in any order, I saved this one for last. Though I love all the Holiday Haven characters, Rory and her band of Humbugs, especially her former roommate Nutty, a squirrel who can talk, are my favorites. Just as the spirit of Christmas helped to redeem Scrooge in Dickens's A Christmas Carol the spirit of Christmas (with a little boost from Mrs. Claus) also helps redeem the Humbugs. This book did not disappoint.

Some of the books in the series clearly announced that they would be the final books. Others did not. I hope there hasn't been a falling out amongst the authors and that at least a few of them will continue the series next Christmas. I can survive without a summer solstice book, but I hate to think of a Christmas without any new Holiday Haven books.

Popping penguins

Thieves in Holiday Haven? That's pretty much unheard, most residents have magic, they could barter, make or buy what they need. The thefts don't make sense, all sorts of odds and ends, food, Christmas lights? Rory decided to investigate herself. Enter the penguins. Rory finds them in an ice cave, no parents, just young ones. Every time they get scared, they pop from one spot to another. That's why no one ever saw the thieves! There is a lot more action and magic going on in the book, but that part was just too cute.

Wow! Life’s Lessons

Can say enough about this book. Rory and company have come a long way!
With Rory’s business doing so well, when some glitches with her magic happen she doesn’t know quite how to handle it. With Vale doing a big gingerbread house contest instead of the now defunct SSAs, Along with items missing from everyone’s storage rooms, the Humbugs are ready to help. Christmas Seasons may never be the same!
Enjoy Ms Falls newest Holiday Haven book and be sure to read the other in the Holiday Haven World. Hoe there’s more!

Snowglobes and jinxes

Rory and the humbugs are back and gearing up for Christmas. Clara Claus gives Rory a pendent, with instructions that she start to act as a guardian of Holiday Haven but she cant tell her friends. But something is wrong with Rorys magic and she uses the pendent to compensate. Then she falls ill and things start to go missing around town. Wanting to help, Rory uses the pendent to find the thieves. And boy is she surprised when she does.

A lovely conclusion to the series! A must read Christmas story!

Ok seriously... Adorable! How can you not love a book that celebrates holidays, has witches and shapeshifting bear men.... elves, Mr and Mrs Claus and of course ... a talking squirrel best friend.

I picked these up as a cute time waster in a busy month but I loved the Aurora Hart series so much! The writing it smart and cute, I literally laughed out loud and smiled the whole time. I love the narrator as well! Pick it up and give it a try.

Just love this author!

This is such a charming holiday read! Aurora is such a tribute to the ideal of second chances and redemption, and the other Humbugs are a perfect support system. The separate mysteries are intriguing, and one yields an adorable surprise. Clean, festive, engaging...Loved it!

Enjoy everyone!!! You'll need to start with the 1st book - Sleigh Spells. It's a great story that sets you up with Aurora, Wyatt, and the Humbugs. Then read the 2nd book - Cheery Charms for more fun and adventure!! I hope/wish more are coming - Holiday Haven is a magical place, I kinda wish it was real!!

Rory is set to enjoy her Christmas at Holiday Haven and her training with Clara is going so good that she gets a special gift from her. After she returns home her magic is going awry so she has to tap into other sources. The town is having a rash of little items missing from the businesses. and her boyfriend is acting strange. Great reading a little bit of romance mixed in with a cozy mystery

Pros:

This as a fun listen with some great character development and world building. Bella Falls is one of the best authors in this collection and her stories always add more depth to what the reader knows.

Cons:

I really dislike the predictability of the miscommunication trope especially when there was enough trouble without basic misunderstanding.

Sad to say I’ve officially wrapped up Rory’s story in this sweet, cozy mystery series. Loved Bella’s contribution to the series and I’ll continue to read her books. This was a great finale for Rory, although I’ll admit enjoyed the first 2 more. Things wrapped up nicely for the Humbugs, this story in particular was very festive. And the ending? Nutty with the baby penguins? Very cute.

Fun

This was a fun Christmas mystery as Rory struggled with her failing magic, Mrs Claus's expectations, mysterious notes, illness and peculiar thefts. As ever, Wyatt was strongly by her side in support as we're her friends.

Can't get enough

I love the way the characters evolve in this series. I'll have to remember the ice dragon named "Snowcone" to make up a story for my preschool class. They will love it as much as I love the Winter Witches!

Enjoyable Series

I am enjoying this series and admire the authors but ladies, please—there are no penguins at the North Pole. They live only in the Southern Hemisphere. Christmas magic aside, of course.

Again wonderful

Rory is again the center of attention and she seems to be the chosen one to replace Mrs Claus when the time comes. She has to face a foe in order to move on and she does that very well.

Great Big Smile

This sequel is my favorite Holiday Haven adventure. I love Rory's openness to change, full hearted ability to forgive and love and talents make her a star in my eyes. I would love to get to know those penguins a lot lot better!

I have enjoyed every one of the different authors in this series!!
All of the characters are so loveable, and the mystery so well put together it will keep you reading until you finish the book. And then you want to download the next book, so you find out want everyone is doing in the mystery!!

The real mystery in this story is what caused every character to mentally regress to preteen age in terms of behavior and self-expression. None of the characters act like themselves here. Very boring and juvenile in the worst way.

A lite mystery set in the North Pole with a Christmas theme. The characters are well defined and the plot and subplots move quickly. A truly enjoyable read.
