It's Not What You Know It's Not Who You Know It's How You Look
'April Fools Daily' chronicles the saga of shy secretary-turned-rock-star Dessie Killmade as she struggles to succeed over the obstacle of her less-than-stunning looks — in a world that is all about appearance. The story traces her path along the Baby Boomer generation’s long, strange, musical trip across the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Set in the music scene of St. Louis, the story is peppered with references to real music, real people and real places.
Includes a suggested soundtrack for your reading pleasure.
This was a fun book to read. The book moved quickly, characters were interesting and humorous. Thoroughly enjoyed reading about St Louis music, the places and the musicians, both real and fictitious.
