Beautiful story! Great Illustrations!

A Twist of Magic is a beautiful story about a girl, her stuffed bear, and their adventure in a new culture. Not only does the reader get to see the beauty of Ecuador in the illustrations, we have an opportunity to experience pieces of Ecuadorian culture through recipes and language provided at the end of the book. This is exactly the kind of story I tried to provide to my kids when they were young and curious to get them excited about travel, other cultures, and taking care of the natural beauty that surrounds us. I look forward to more books in this series!

Such a great book for kids; Anna gets to explore a new country and learn about different cultures. This book gave me goosebumps -- a perfect combination of magic, wholesome, and educational. I love the added touch with the country fun facts and recipe cards in the end. The illustrations are beautifully done - vivid, detailed, and magnificently captures the magic of the book.

This Story Truly is Magic!

I wish I was Anna! She’s living the dream I had many times as a child. Finally, someone captured my childhood dreams in a story.

Thoughts of being magically whisked away is surely a fantasy of every child. Who hasn’t played a game of “I’ll go where my finger lands” when they’re given a globe or map to explore?

This beautiful story brings that fantasy alive as it takes us on an adventure to Ecuador. Here we learn about language, food, historic sites, culture and people.

The end of the book provides lessons about the country, fun facts, language and local recipes.

The illustrations are vibrant and exquisitely capture the essence of Ecuador.

This is book will awaken and drive the cultural curiosity in readers. The imagery is in this story will surely inspire readers to explore the wonderful world outside their doors.

I am hoping to see more books of this type from Allison Ward. Let’s keep exploring our incredible globe. This story was really well done - 5 stars!
