The book jumped out at me from the shelves. I did not regret for one second the moment I unwrapped the book and started reading! I really loved how you shared so generously and your style of writing was so engaging. Also, the background of how you got into sales was truly relatable!
Nevermind that some of the content is not related to what I do, but there's definitely a lot to learn! I do not deal with whales (yet); dolphins maybe, but the principles you laid out in the book is really helpful!
Having worked with High Net Worths for a long time I wished I had read this book at the start of my career, Marcus through a lens of experience and understanding guides you on a journey into the mindset and customs of HNWI.
While I have very little time for gambling you don't need to have casino experience to enjoy this book.
The simple meal in the Chinese restaurant is one of my favourites pieces of advice.
This book went beyond all expectations to deliver a story that's not just instructional, but also impactful and inspiring. The insights within are a game-changer. I love how the book offered practical advice that can be applied immediately. This has left me with much more hunger and importantly, confidence, to go out there and chase my own success.
How to Hook a Whale has lots of precious insights into how to deal with the moneyed. Now I have an idea of this other world works and the importance of building the relationship first, sell later. Great book!
With a provocative title like this, the follow up question is whether the contents deliver. It over delivers. Filled with personal stories and laced with wit and humour, I finished the book in one sitting. I read a book to learn or laugh. In How to Hook a Whale, I learned and laughed.
Picked this up at the bookstore since the title looked interesting. It was wrapped in protective plastic and had no existing reviews so I decided to give it a shot without knowing what I was in for. Bad decision. It’s a bunch of fluff, no real valuable advice about “how to hook a whale”. But it is an interesting read about the author’s life story. Finished reading it within a few hours since it doesn’t have much substance. I’d say don’t waste your time. Pretty funny to see a bunch of reviews by accounts created in April just to post their one review on this book in April...
