Confessions of a Long Distance Lorry Driver

Rate this book
A RIDE FOR A RIDE...It's amazing the things that happen to long distance lorry drivers. Timmy is up against it from the moment he meets Babs and Suzanne. What they don't know about selling lorries is more than made up for by what they do know about other techniques. Then there are Noreen and Avril. Timmy comes across them when trying to deliver Bango fish to the Hai Bali Tabernacle. But even they are nothing compared with Gladys, the double-jointed elephant girl, who joins Timmy - along with her large grey friends - in a moving incident near Basingstoke. Timmy thinks he must have seen it all now - until he calls at a northern club where the male striptease act has failed to turn up...From transport cafe to lay-by and back again it's action all the way as Timmy and Sid set out to deliver the goods.

Absolutely loved this book, one of the best of the series so far. The dialogue is top notch, full of clever sarcasm and ingenious wit. As for the descriptions and names of the various body parts - well, we get a whole load of new entries here. I found myself laughing out loud (tears of laughter) on several occasions. Great stuff!
