My neighbor is a Grinch.

Since I run the Christmas Emporium and sometimes moonlight as an elf, that's kind of a problem for me.

No surprise, though. When I brought over cookies to welcome him to the neighborhood this summer, he slammed the door in my face.

Until he brings his kid to visit Santa one of the days I'm working as an elf, and I realize there are key parts of their

This is my first book ever from Jerica Macmillan. I honestly did not know what to expect from it. And it turns out, that the book actually surprised me in a very good way. It was the perfect book to start my Christmas Holidays book.

The actual story was a bit sad at the beginning. We were presented to Shane and his little sister Sophie, who were trying to get over the fact that their parents died 6 months ago and Shane being Sophie's guardian. And then enter Sarah. She was so cheerful and happy a

Sarah is a very sweet and sunshiney lead! I loved her giving nature and how she wouldn't be intimidated by Shane's gruff exterior. And Shane is a great Cinnamon Roll Hero! Grumpy on the outside and sweet and sensitive on the inside.

"I'm melting into a puddle of goo at the sight of this big, gruff man doing deep breathing exercises where he pretends to blow on hot cocoa with his six-year-old little sister. There's something inexplicably hot about a guy taking care of a little kid."

After the unexpected death of their parents, Shane the eldest sibling is thrusted into the role of a parental figure, by becoming the legal guardian of his six-year-old sister. He's slightly grumpy, can be a butt at times, but underneath that, is

Some people may have left her small town, wanting bigger and more glamorous lives, but Sarah always loved it here. She loves nothing better than running her parents' Christmas company, bringing joy to everyone around her. So when she first meets her new neighbor, Shane, and he soundly rejects her offer of neighborly cookies as a welcome to the neighborhood, she's taken aback. But not so much so that when he brings a little girl to see her father as Santa, she instantly wants to mak

This is my first book by Jerica Macmillan as the title and storyline caught my attention. I try and read as many holiday romances as possible in December, and was pleasantly surprised by this little gem. I love when people meet by chance and these two polar opposites aren’t very neighborly at first especially since he moved in right next-door and wants nothing to do with being social.

Sarah is such a kind soul and is filled with the Christmas spirit. She runs her family business, a Christmas Emp

I've only read two other holiday romance novels and didn't care for them. I decided this is the year I'm going to explore the genre more. I picked this one based on a bookstagrammer's recommendation and it was a great place to start!

Sarah is the manager of the family business, Christmas Emporium, and sometimes works as one of Santa's elves. She lives for Christmas year round. Her neighbor Shane has slammed his door in her face and appears to be a real life Grinch. But then he shows up to see San

A Very Grumpy Christmas is an enjoyable read that I absolutely loved!!

The christmas setting in books always gets me so excited to read them and this book did not disappoint! Shane and Sarah are next door neighbors and the connection they begin to form is something that I really liked in this story. When Sarah first meets Shane he is definitely grumpy and has these walls build up but slowly she gets to know him and his past. With Shane being guardian to his sis
This was my first Christmas read of the year and it didn’t disappoint! I really enjoyed this book. It has two of my favourite tropes: single dad and grumpy/sunshine🤩

I loved all the characters! Sarah was so sweet, selfless and relatable. Shane is a typical grumpy hero, which I love, and he really steps up and is a great ‘dad’ to Sophie. Sophie stole the show! She was so funny and cute, I absolutely adored her.

Sarah and Shane had a lot of chemistry. They worked so well together. And I loved their

I need this book in paperback! It’s so cute and so much fun. This is definitely what I love. Christmas themed but nothing too corny or cheesy. It’s set during christmas but it’s steamy, fun, a bit angsty, emotional. He’s a grump. Her family owns the Christmas emporium and she takes a liking to his little sister that turns out is not his daughter but he is indeed her caretaker. Their relationship is so sweet and pure. I loved them interacting. This book is perfect if you want a book with a single ...more

That's "grumpy" in the title so... You know me.
And the grumpy hero grunts and has problems saying "thank you". And the heroine, Sarah, is such a sweetheart 💕
After a tragedy, Shane has become the legal guardian of little Sophie who loves her hair braided but not just by his brother.... by her sweet neighbor.
This book is a feel good, Christmas delight and a little heart-wrecking. Recommended!

4.5 stars! Very fun Christmas story that made me cry and feel all the feels on top of being a cute romance for this time of year.
the beginning was so good but by the time the “friends with benefits” plot started, it got boring and repetitive. and it wrapped up wayyyy too quickly after the third act break up. cute kid tho.

“I know we agreed originally to keep things light and fun, and while I’ve always had fun with you, the way I feel about you is anything but light.”

After the loss of both parents, Shane is now the guardian of his six year old sister, Sophie, and has moved back to his hometown. It hasn’t been easy especially with his sister’s tantrums as well as dealing with his own grief. When his next door neighbor went over to welcome him with cookies, he shut the door on her.

This was a cute read for Christmas.

I love a good grumpy/sunshine trope around the holidays (especially when it's more grumpy grinch/Christmas elf) and while this one wasn't AS grumpy/sunshine as I wanted it was still fun. i'm not sure what it was exactly about this book that didn't hit quite right for me, but whatever it was didn't dampen my enjoyment too much. Sarah was a lot to handle, for sure, but at the same time she acknowledged her shit and how *invasive* she can be into other people's l

Shane has had a rough few months. Becoming his sister's guardian, while dealing with both her grief and his hasn't been easy. Struggling to figure out how to make life - and Christmas - easier for Sophie is complicated. But his neighbour, masquerading as Santa's helper might help. Thing is, he didn't realise that unfreezing his heart would be part of the deal.

Sarah knows her neighbour is hot, but he's also quite unfriendly and unpleasant. Then, she overhears a conversation between his little sis

This is at heart a holiday story. On one hand its got a sad backstory but on the other hand its also a heart warming holiday book about the power of the holidays, of family and love and friendship.

Shane had a wonderful life six months before until his whole life changed with a phone call. It didn't just change his life, but his baby sisters and two younger siblings and it tore their family apart.

So the holidays are really tough for them and as its the first year, its going to be brutal. But he w

As Sophie is clearly the main character in this story even though she is a child, I'll first just say I fell in love with her immediately. While I hate that she had to deal with the grief of losing her parents so young, her personality is amazing and she handles the grief as only a kid can.

Shane is another story and like most adults, the death of your parents and then taking in your six year old sister is hard and can make you fear things you've never feared before. However, with all of Shane's

This was my first Jerica Macmillan book and it definitely won't be my last. This was a sweet and fun Christmas romance!

Shane has been caring for his much younger sister, Sophie, since their parents died six months prior. When he takes her to visit Santa his neighbor Sarah is there working as an elf. She overhears Sophie's wish and decides to help the little girl.

I loved everything about this sweet Christmastime story! Shane was dealing with a lot - his parents accidental deaths, being named guardian to his youngest sister, having just moved to help his sister's grief and it's Christmas time. You feel his pain while he tries so hard to make things right for his family. From the first chapter I loved these characters. I’m not actually one for Christmas stories, but this one was a single parent romance, so sign me up.

I loved that Sarah was such a happy person and she was just a genuine person trying to make everyone happy especially around the Christmas holidays. Shane was the total opposite of her. Even though he wasn’t that way before. But losing your parents and then becoming a guardian to your 6year old little sister cannot be easy. And even though he has this attraction to Sarah he just cant get

What a heartwarming, sweet story. Shane and his siblings just lost their parents that summer making him his little sister, Sophie's guardian. He's already a grump and doesn't like Christmas. However, he's trying so hard to make it better for Sophie after losing their parents.

On the other hand, Christmas is Sarah's favourite holiday. Her love for the holidays knows no bounds and even more when their family's business involves it. When she heard Sophie ask Santa for something very sad and touchin

While this book has some heavier topics like grief it also has hope, love and family regardless of how that family looks.

Shane found himself the guardian of his younger sister Sophie, after their parents died. He struggles to accept help, and has his own self doubt as to how he’s doing raising Sophie. While overwhelmed with some well meaning but nosy neighbors.

Sarah while originally rebuffed by her new neighbor she is still trying to get him to show some holiday spirit! She isn’t above adding

I love grumpy alphas! Shane was so hot! I also loved Sarah, and how selfless she was. She always put others happiness before her own. Helping others always made her happy. Shane's little sister, Sophie was so adorable. Shane's family had been through a tough loss, so Sarah knew she wanted Sophie's Christmas to be special. Sarah and Shane spent a lot of time together, but was it just to help Sophie, or is there a bigger connection between Shane and Sarah? Is Shane ready to tell Sarah how he feels ...more

I would say this is more a ‘friends with benefits’ trope. ‘scratching a mutual itch’.

I got annoyed after 60%. The h just kept irritating me. I loved her in the beginning when she was helping the guy and his kid sister but then she just annoyed me once they started their ‘friends with benefits’ and letting me know when her ‘panties get damp/wet’. one of my pet peeves.

I could do without all the period chats too

I am not usually a fan of small-town romances but this one was pretty good. Shane and Sophie's backstory is heartbreaking. Shane and Sophie are dealing with a lot for this Christmas especially. Sarah is a jolly person who loves the small-town atmosphere. she works at a Christmas festive shop all year round. how can she not be jolly?

This was a sweet heartwarming story with a sprinkling of good sex. I did find Sarah a little bit too much at times but I think it matches the Grinch personality of S
Sarah tries and fails to get to know her grumpy neighbor in the beginning. Then fate, by the way of "Santa Claus" spurs her into action. She and Shane become reluctant friends because of Sophie but end up with more than they expected. I mean, the first time they kiss? Whoa! This book also had me all sorts of emotional too at point with Shane and his siblings.  The story was sweet, fun, romantic and hot!! I did not want this book to end it was so good! It's definitely something I'd read again and ...more
