Marine biologist Corrie Duval is haunted by the murders she witnessed. She buries herself in work to forget. It's not so easy when her friend Zeballos Artino is desperately sick. Without a cure, he can only hope his mother's people have answers. But the pale folk are proving impossible to find.
When Corrie and Zeb meet with a researcher keen on studying Zeb's mysteries, answers are on the horizon. But the notebook of Zeb's father hints at a greater peril than Zeb's sickness. Stormy seas hide secrets in their depths, and Corrie and Zeb don’t know if wonders or terrors wait at the end of their search. They must find answers before the ocean swallows their boat--and them--without a trace.
Emma Shelford feels that life is only complete with healthy doses of magic, history, and science. Since these aren't often found in the same place, she created her own worlds where they happily coexist. If you catch her in person, she will eagerly discuss Lord of the Rings ad nauseam, why the ancient Sumerians are so cool, and the important role of phytoplankton in the ocean.
Emma is the author of the Nautilus Legends (a marine biologist discovers that mythical sea creatures are real), the Musings of Merlin Series (Merlin is immortal, forever young, and living in the modern day), and the Breenan Series (a young woman follows a mysterious stranger into an enchanting Otherworld).
I loved this book, couldn’t put it down. It’s the fourth in the nautilus series. I’m engrossed with plot and the characters and always want the next book.
