Are you looking to start a Christmas devotional? Joel Osteen has a new one out called Peace for the Season with 40 Christmas devotionals in it. It is a small size at 6 1/4 inches sqaure--easy to fit into your purse for a quick read or to pack into your book bag with your Bible for devotion time.

Peace for the Season is divided into 8 sections following the introduction. In the introduction, Osteen encourages you to make time during the busy season to read and to let Jesus be your peace. Then, he says, you will feel at peace in spite of being in a time when a lot of things happen that aren't very peaceful around us. Each devotional has a Bible verse, short reading and a prayer.

I really liked these short readings with the prayers and the verses. They were encouraging and they helped me think about how I am living during the season. Peace for the Season would be a nice gift for another Christian friend or family member too.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.

Use These Devotions to Have Peace Fill Your Christmas Season

The Christmas season can be a challenging time of year for many people. Pastor Joel Osteen has written 40 devotions in PEACE FOR THE SEASON. Each devotion begins with a Bible verse and a short devotion and ends with a straight-forward prayer.

For example, Day 30 “Put on Your Shoes” uses Ephesians 6:15 from the New Living Translation and Osteen writes, “Every morning make the decision that nothing that comes against you is gong to get you upset—that’s putting on your shoes of peace.” (Page 107 to 108)

Whether you read these devotions as a family or individual, PEACE FOR THE SEASON is a well-written and practical book that I highly recommend.

40 devotionals for Christmas. Thank you to the publisher for sending me this book to try out. Daniel and I have read the read each day before going to bed. There is a scripture, a read aloud to go into more depth, and then the day ends on a prayer. I caught myself thinking about the days before while at work. This would be good for any family or singleton that wanted to work through a devotional during Christmas time.

Osteen's latest is a wonderful book to use for the Christmas season. He includes the Christmas story in the devotions, which I really enjoyed.

There are different sections: God's Got This, Peace with Yourself, All is Well, Sleep On, The Guardian of Your Soul, Protect Your Peace, What's on Your Throne, and It's Already Set Up.

This is a nice book to help bring peace during Christmas time, and I love that the focus in on the meaning behind the season: Jesus.

In Peace for the Season, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new devotional covering the Christmas story. He starts by reminding readers how Isaiah foretold about Jesus being born and how He is gift to all people. Jesus is called an everlasting God, Counselor, and Prince of Peace. He shared how we need to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and it’s easy to dwelt on getting last minute gifts, decorating, and running place to place to celebrate with loved ones. Throughout the book, he will explore the birth of Jesus and how Mary was instructed that she would be carrying Jesus. The book is divided into a few different topics such as, “God’s Got This, Peace with Yourself, Sleep On”, and much more. The first area he discussed was about how God has got this. He stated that Mary was probably excited but also a little confused because she was a virgin. She had to choose to believe in the promises of God and that He would take care of her. Joel explained how we can get lost in our difficulties and challenges and we need to be reminded that God has it and that He is complete control.

I would recommend this awesome devotional for everyone for Christmas because this would make a wonderful gift to give this season. A lot of us are struggling with living in peace and we need to be reminded that God is still in control and we don’t have to live frustrated or broken down. I immensely loved how the book contained the whole story of Christmas and even some on the teaching of Jesus. One of my favorite topics was the one on sleeping and how Joseph was told while he was sleeping to marry Mary even though the child, she was carrying wasn’t even his. I loved the other part of the story about how Jesus also told his disciples to sleep on before he tried three times for them to wake up and pray with Him before his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. I liked how Joel used this story to showcase how we sometimes need to have the mindset of sleep on and to not be bothered by things we can’t change. We can instead focus on God’s power and how He is well able to do the impossible. I loved all of the peaceful reminders included in this book and I think it will assist in bringing peace to us during the Christmas season and even afterwards.

Peace for the Season is a sweet little devotion book. The contents offer daily blessings, and the gold embossed cover makes it a lovely coffee table book.

Joel Osteen is one of the best encouragers and pick-me-uppers I can think of. His devotion books are no different. This book is sweet, simple, and potent, and I love that it focuses on the Christmas season.

The book is divided into 4 sections titled: God’s Got This, Peace With Yourself, All Is Well, and Sleep On. Each of these 40 devotions includes a title, Scripture verse, devotion, and brief prayer for the day.

I love the simplicity of this book and the candid, uplifting, and inspiring messages it shares. Its focus is on Christmastime and the greatest gift—Jesus Christ.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review was not influenced.

This book is designed to be read during Advent but I read it in Lent, instead. It's got great wisdom, taken from the Bible, for living a life that is centered on God and peace. Reading a new reading each night before bed, I found it to be a calming force in a life that can sometimes feel overly busy and frantic. We all need this kind of peace:)
