What a good kids story!

Read this reader with a small group of ~9 year old children. This group are usually indifferent to what they read. However they enjoyed this book, came across and discussed some tricky word, such as 'bronchitis' and 'asthma' and discuss the events of the story. It was a good combination for this age group, dogs, sport, common ailments and danger.

A lovely redemption story for kids. Rachel takes pity on a hungry junkyard dog and ends up saving him from certain death. She adopts him as her pet and he becoming a loving healthy animal. Rachel also reaches out to a drop-out boy called Stewart and transforms his life. This is an easy-to-read heart-warming tale that is great for beginning readers.
