Kandy had her heart shattered when her stepbrother and his two best friends cruelly rejected her confession of love. What she didn’t know was that their rejection nearly broke them too. Years of regret and self-inflicted torment later, Atlas, Brogan and Ryder are back and they’re determined to win her heart, trust, and body. Kandy’s best friend sets her up for a much-needed night of indulgence at the Gilded Key Society to break her dry spell, but surprise, surprise when, her mysterious match turns out to be none other than the three men who once crushed her. This time, they’re not letting her slip away, and they make it crystal clear that tonight is all about proving their devotion. Now, I love a good second-chance romance, but I wasn’t entirely sold on how Kandy was steamrolled into their grand seduction. For a woman who had been deeply hurt, she deserved more than just a night of lust and declarations. Where was the groveling? The effort to truly earn back her love? And as if the emotional stakes weren’t high enough, there’s also a stalker with an unhealthy obsession with Kandy (though let’s be real, their identity wasn’t exactly a shocking revelation). Cue the over-the-top alpha male protective instincts as the guys whisk Kandy away to a secluded cabin under the guise of keeping her safe. But, while I get the need for urgency, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes when they skipped right past checking her over properly after the stalker’s attack—priorities, gentlemen! At least they gave her a few days to recover before things heated up again. And when I say heated up, I mean blazing inferno levels of steamy. That said, while the passion was definitely there, the actual execution felt a bit lacking with some of the descriptive language veering toward off-putting rather than sensual, and the balance between romance, plot, and steam felt off-kilter. If you’re here for the spice above all else, you’ll get plenty of that. But as for me? This wasn’t my favorite of the series.
