Two bestselling Sarah Dessen novels in one package!
It's easy to become jaded when things don't go your way. But sometimes the things you expect the least are the things you need the most. Sometimes a big, daunting change is what you need to move past what's been and embrace what's going to be.
Whether that's saying goodbye to old friends or saying hello to new friends, found family, and loves, embracing change will help you forget your past.
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah Dessen, here are two books about exploring emotions, forgiving those who have wronged you, and learning to be better than you ever thought you could be.
Book 1: Went down like soup on a cold day. The characters were warm and the story had a good message. I liked the interactions between the people at Wish and it was well written. Book 2: It just didn't hit me like the 1st one. Maybe it was because all I could think about was the crossover between the two books, both are set in a development called Wildflower Ridge, or maybe the story just wasn't as good, but this was definitely my least favourite out of the two.
I enjoyed both books but the second one was my favorite. I loved Ruby and her relationship with her sister, Cora. Ruby's mom abandons her, and she goes to live with her older sister after being estranged for years. It's my first time reading this author, and I'm so glad that I discovered these books.
I wanted to give it 2.5 stars but you can’t. The Truth About Forever was better than Lock and Key. I found Lock and Key somewhat boring and hard to finish. I never felt excited about it and didn’t feel a draw to continue reading it. These two books in one I should have skipped. Hoping the other ones I got by Sarah Dessen are more interesting. On a positive note, both are a light read.
This was a great summertime read! It's two stories in one book about love and friendship. It is geared more for young adults/high schoolers but I absolutely loved both stories!
