So, maybe crocodile demon monsters are going up my list of favourite monsters because!! I loved Raukra from the second he spoke. He was dominating, assertive and oh so hot!
I liked Cleo too— she was stubborn and held her ground despite the fact that she landed in the water with a literal gator demon (which was hilarious). I loved the two of them together, they make a great team!
I wish we had a bit more buildup with the villain of the story but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read more from Vicky Walklate!

At first I was a little hesitant at the power dynamics here, but by 30% I was all in. So much juicy plot crammed into so little book. And Raukra was a really unique monster 👀 And full claws, teeth, and tail?! YES.

Crocodile demon + wildlife park manager. Outside sexy times are my favorite, and we get one of those here ;) This was an enjoyable little monster romance, and the All Yours bonus epilogue for email subscribers teases more in-universe monster romance in 2022 with a wicked cliffhanger. I am so looking forward to reading more!

It's gonna sound weird but considering the long list of "triggers" for this one (which are definitely presented as more of a tease of what's supposedly in the book than as a proper warning), I was expecting the smut to be a lot darker and more deliciously depraved? But there was really none of that whatsoever and instead the smut was kinda really vanilla. Or like, what vanilla people think "kinky" is... lol. 🥴
That being said, if you don't get too excited about the "trigger warnings" like I did and just read it for some quick and sweet monster smut, then you'll probably enjoy it!

Great Monster Novella!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I must say that I enjoyed it very much. Though a short read the characters were quite well developed. This is a pretty steamy read! If you like short steamy monster romance then I recommend that you try this series!

It’s okay. I mean I didn’t find it particularly juicy because it was slow to build up with background but rips right into the sexiness quickly. I find a balance is perfect for the shorter ones and this didn’t have that balance

The Daddy Croc you didn’t know you needed!
Wow this is a really hilarious and creative read! Daddy Croc energy with a sassy brat! Loved it! Very random monster read but good plot and storyline to match the randomness! First of mine from this author and I enjoyed it!

This was a quick fun read. Was it perfect? No. The power dynamics in the beginning were a little iffy for my taste.

Despite giving it only 3 stars, I did enjoy it. To a point. The length of it,in my opinion, hurt it. And it just ended. No epilogue. Nothing. So much potential. Not as satisfying as I had hoped.

I’ve been excited since I heard about this novelette—I mean, a crocodile demon who’s into spanking and praise sounds like a great premise to me.
But damn, sometimes a story really lives up to the hype and ends up being even more fun than you were hoping for, and this was one of those stories.
I loved Raukra and his instant connection with Cleo. I never thought I’d be wishing for a giant crocodile man to sling me over his shoulder and show me who’s boss, but here we are.
In addition to the steamy scenes this story was great in general and Cleo was surprisingly relatable. A fun quick read you should definitely pick up.

Das Ebook habe ich im Rahmen meines ablaufenden KindleUnlimtedAbos gelesen. Eigentlich wollte ich nur die ersten drei Kapitel lesen und es dann entweder als Print kaufen oder als unwichtig vom Reader löschen. Aber nach den drei Kapiteln merkte ich, dass es nicht gut genug war um gekauft zu werden und ich trotzdem wissen wollte wie es ausgeht. Bei 110 Seiten habe ich mich dann entschlossen es doch komplett zu lesen.
Es geht hier um Cleo, die in einem Wildpark arbeitet. Sie ist nicht nur die Managerin sondern war auch eng mit der alten Lady befreundet, der der Park bis vor ihrem kürzlichen Tod gehörte. Nun kommt ein Erbe ins Spiel, zieht in das Haupthaus ein und bringt eine merkwürdige Statue eines Echsenmannes mit. Laut dem neuen Besitzer stellt er eine Dämon dar, der alle 10 Jahre durch ein Portal zurück in seiner düstere Welt gerufen wird, es sei denn er bindet sich an einen Menschen.
Was an der Geschichte wahr ist und was vielleicht etwas abgeändert oder offen gelassen, wurde muss dann jeder selbst lesen. Auf jeden Fall besucht die fleischgewordene Form dieses Dämons dann plötzlich nachts Cleo und nach und nach wird diese Beziehung dann intimer und intensiver.
Ein wenig erinnert die Art der Geschichte an ein Märchen. Wie haben eine Heldin, einen Bösewicht und ein Monster, das vielleicht gar nicht so sehr Monster ist. Nach und nach werden kleine Hinweise auf das gegeben, was da im Dunklen liegt und was noch passieren wird im Buch und man rät mit. Es ist durch aus interessant und spannend gestaltet. Eine große Überraschung habe ich jetzt nicht erlebt und so richtig mitreißen konnte es mich auch nicht. Das liegt vor allem an dem einfachen Schreibstil. Ich hatte nie das Gefühl richtig in die Story abzutauchen. Es war alles sehr linear und simple, trotzdem habe ich schon deutlich schlechtere Schreibstile in diesem Genre erlebt. Es wirkte wie ein einfaches Märchen mit Erotikanteil. Der war dann auch wieder recht gut, wenn man auf Spanking, übernatürliches (MonsterErotika halt) und Dominanz in seinen Büchern steht. Die Geschwindigkeit mit der die erotischen Szenen dann intensiver wurden, fand ich perfekt gewählt. Auch wenn ich die Beziehung der beiden nie als echt und emotional empfand, so waren die erotischen Szenen durchaus sehr unterhaltsam.
Ansonsten wirkte alles auch etwas kitschig, was eben auch wieder in Richtung Märchen geht. Ich mag da lieber die humorvollen und peppigen Geschichten.
Ich glaube eher nicht, dass ich noch einmal zu einem Buch der Autorin greifen werde.

i came across this one evening when searching for monster romance novellas. I became intrigued and read it over 2 nights because I’d only tune in before bed.
it was ok. We have a demon crocodile statue that comes to live and goes back home to his world every 10 years…I’m just stating right off the bat of what I remember. Ofc being a novella, don’t expect anything amazing or a deep plot. it��s a short and sweet smutty time. when we got to the steam it good, i was satisfied but idk I felt like I just wanted to wrap this one up tbh.
since March has started I’ve not felt like reading, I’m feeling a bit burned out, so I feel like it’s more on me then the book’s fault. I didn’t want to DNF this because I needed to build up my reading challenge so that’s really the main reason for me to finish.

This book got me out of a mini reading slump, so major props for that. I saw this one via Twitter and couldn’t resist that someone had made the “scaly lizard man” audio from TikTok into a book. #Respect
This book is everything that is promised: nothing more and nothing less. The monster is definitely more on the monstrous side (although I wish he had a weirder dick. Like if he’s a full on crocodile monster, don’t give him a boring human penis). The world building is minimal but sufficient and doesn’t get in the way of the romance/monster fucking. The short length is also perfect.
I’m keen to read more in the series.

—Cleo: sometimes one decides to fill their emotional void with crocodile sex. I do not relate to this decision, but I somewhat understand it. And I appreciate how she rolled with the wild supernatural turns. 7/10
—Raukra: truly exhibiting some annoying alpha-hole behavior, but he gets better by the end. 6/10
—Plot: There was definitely a good sense of momentum and buildup of tension, with the inexplicable incidents piling up at the nature reserve. But this book is about bangin’. 6/10.

So Good!!
I had seen the covers for these 2 books and given all the yummy monsters to date, out there to read, I took a chance and loved it, then the bonus! Just as well I have next book to read.
It's a story about a woman named Cleo, who finds out demons and monsters are real. We meet Raukra, a crocodilian being. You learn why he is there and how he is trapped in the human world. There is the sleasy bad guy, and a scary bit ;) but all ends well. They made a great couple, with touches of humour. Looking forward to the 2nd book!

Strangely appealing
I started this book out of pure curiosity. In louisiana we have a legend of a swamp boogeyman called the parlangua he's half alligator and half man. I wanted to see if i could find a book like that, kinda as a joke. But I truly enjoyed this book! I did NOT see the plot twists coming. But I loved the two main characters and i wish I could see more of them!! I would read a full length novel about them!

Interesting tales of the wild
A short novel, but well written.
Has suspense, steam, the wide spectrum of feelings and development of the plot.
All in all, a good read. Cleo a lonely, but strong willed woman that manages a zoo. Raukra is a cursed being from another world. Sacrifices are made, nefarious characters forcing their will, and desire seems to conquer the biggest battle: acceptance.

This was soo good. I've been dying to read this book since it was announced, but it was definitely worth the wait! Both the story and the extra epilogue were great!! The author for sure knows how to write a great story in few pages.
I can't wait for the next novella. I'm really sad I'm gonna have to wait for it :'( I hope Cleo and Raukra appear in the next one 👀

loved it
I flew through this. Such a good fun read.
Even though it’s novella sized, it really packed in the story, but kept the flow and pacing perfectly. Nothing was rushed and I enjoyed the playful approach in their relationship.
The spicy scenes were awesome, with some great descriptions and emotions packed in too.
Onto the next one!

As a Floridian, the idea of an alligator-esque monster love interest is both hilarious and horrifying.
This is one of those books where I saw the (non-discreet) cover, (enthusiastically) thought "what the fuck is this", read it in one sitting, and decided very shortly after that I was disappointed.
10/10 weird monster love interest.

Good Read
I truly enjoyed this take on a demo/monster read. It was well written with good supporting characters, especially Evelyn. I can definitely see Evelyn falling for a demon/monster/animal love of her own. And I'll definitely be looking for more from this author.

surprise! it’s demon crocodiles…
Read it cus of BookTok. Not a bad novella, and some spice to it. There were a couple parts near the end that were a bit confusing and I had to re-read a couple scenes for clarity.
