John Lewis Hart, also known as Johnny Hart, was an American cartoonist noted as the creator of the comic strip B.C. and co-creator (with Brant Parker) of the strip The Wizard of Id. Hart was recognized with several awards, including five from the National Cartoonists Society, and the Swedish Adamson Award. In his later years, he sparked controversy by incorporating overtly Christian themes and messages into the strips.
OK. I admit it. I read it. It was reasonably humorous, but some of the references baffled me... probably topical for the time which was 1973 and 1978. I no longer remember what they were laughing at.
Warning: The Wizard of Id is married to a woman he considers ugly and there are many jokes about her being so. If that sort of joking causes you to wet your panties then skip this book. Rest assured that I did not laugh at these sort of jokes. They were mildly amusing.
The King of ID - his humor ....know a few people like that! Great relaxing read...The comic part also very well executed. Would love more Wizard of Id comics.
