When Vera Was Sick

Rate this book
A comforting story about one brave little girl.

"Vera was sick.

She had spots all over her body, even between her toes and inside her ears. The doctor said she must stay in bed."

Vera is sick. Mother puts her in the spare room and rubs lotion on all her spots. She brings in Vera's favorite pillow and tells her to try and sleep. But the sickroom is lonely and kind of scary. The wallpaper looks like it's making funny faces at Vera, and try as she might, she can't fall asleep. All Vera can do is scratch her spots.

Any child who has shared the woes of being sick will find comfort and humor in this tender story about one brave little girl.

It was an ok book about a young girl having the chicken pox. A good book to read if one of your students is absent due to an illness.
