Loved this collection of authors some where new to me but devoured there stories and enjoyed the tantalising read. Filled with what might go bump either way in the night, with paranormal naughtyness and fun this was a thrilling Anthology.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you're looking for a romance anthology that'll get you in the Halloween spirit, then look no further.
I had the pleasure to get an ARC of this baby and let me tell you, it DOES NOT disappoint!
This amazing charity anthology covers ALL the paranormal bases: from vampires to ghosts, demons to slayers, and every swoon-worthy paranormal creature in between. Sexy shifters, dashing fae lords, and even a reverse harem of gorgeous ghosts. This is such a great group of stories by authors whose works I love and several that are new to me. I laughed, I swooned, and I got all the feels for Halloween with Samhain balls, carnivals, and even a zombie apocalypse. It was a blast and I can't wait to check out more works by these talented ladies!
Plus it's for a good cause. And who can resist that? Grab your copy and indulge in the seductive world of the unknown. You won't regret it!
I flew threw this spooky, sexy PNR anthology. I mean, what's not to love? The collection features some seriously talented writers and some seriously sexy stories. All that heart-pounding and swooning for a good cause, too? Love it.
'The absolute best selection box of spooky choice with this Booktober PNR anthology for all'
Thank you to the wonderful authors who gave me an ARC copy of this PNR anthology to read. I'm proud to support such talent and read some brand new authors I've not had the pleasure of reading before. Happy Release Day (29th October) to you all!
I've first got to point out how genius the 'skull rating' system is. I've only ever seen reviewers on TikTok or blog websites give their own ratings for books they've read, this is the first time I've come across one by authors themselves. At least for an anthology. This--along with the description with the skull level--lets readers determine what they might or might not be comfortable with in terms of steam and spice. Readers are all different from one another, so one will not like spice/steam and another may love it, this is a neat, handy-dandy guide which I highly recommend other authors who are thinking of collaborating for an anthology should do.
With this anthology, you truly are spoiled for choice. Name a paranormal topic, monster or spook, its in here. Shifter romance? Check. Forbidden love? Check. Cross-species romance? Check? Menages? Check. Reverse Harem? Check LGBTQ+ romance? Check again. The authors have taken great care in coming together to include something for everyone. Even if you think one or more topics aren't to your reading taste, you'll be surprised at how much you'll actually enjoy reading these short stories. A few certainly made me curious as to read more novels (full-length) around those topics for sure.
Now for the nitty gritty. I've put together the basics for each story, so here we go! :
Feral For you By Miri Stone
Steam/Skull Rating: 4/5 skulls My Star Rating: 4.5 stars Tropes: Vampire/Shifter Romance, Rejected Mates, Age Gap Romance, Second Chance Feedback: An alluring story with the steam saved until the right moment. Plenty of open questions and very interesting concept to the story, crossing the line between Vampire & Werewolf love.
Dog Days by K.O.Newman
Steam/Skull Rating: 4/5 skulls My Star Rating: 5/5 stars Tropes: Fated Mates, Instalove, Curses, Shifter Romance Feedback: OOF! Aside from the backstory and situation the hero is placed in, this story is O-to-the-OF! The kind of story to heat the cheeks and causes lips to be bitten. Despite it being a short story, there was plenty packed in without it being overwhelming or uninteresting. If I could rate it, I would give it 20/5! Definitely would read something full-length with this topic/subject matter.
Defiance by Mariah Thayer
Steam/Skull Rating: 3.5 Skulls My Star Rating: 4/5 Stars Tropes: Shifter Romance, Rejected Mates, Second Chance, Forbidden Love Feedback: A sweetly sensuous romance with an "impossible" barrier that must be broken down in order to have an HEA. Incredibly written confrontation scene with gritty detail, but the novel was left with an open ending. Would love to have a bonus epilogue at some stage, I'd love to see more of these two's story!
Siren's Song by Marlee P.Louis
Steam/Skull Rating: 4/5 Skulls My Star Rating: 4/5 Stars Tropes: Fated Lovers, Carnival, Psychic, Meant to Be, LGBTQ+
Princess and the Wolf King by Emilia Rose

Dances With Devils by Raven Woodward
Steam/Skull Rating: 4/5 Skulls My Star Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Tropes: Why Choose, Vampires, Enemies-to-Lovers, Necromancy
The NecroDancer by Mercy DeSimone
Steam/Skull Rating: 3.5/5 Skulls My Star Rating: 4/5 Stars Tropes: Forced Proximity, Ghosts and Ghouls, Brothers, Small Town Romance
The Grave Keeper by Ebony Olson
Steam/Skull Rating: 4.5/5 Skulls My Star Rating: 5/5 Stars Tropes: Angels, Ghosts, Menage, Second Chance
Hunter's Mark by Marina Garcia
Steam/Skull Rating: 3.5/5 Skulls My Star Rating: 4/5 Stars Tropes: Angel-Devil Romance, Forbidden Romance, Paranormal Romance, Instalove
Ada by Shelly Ferguson
Steam/Skull Rating: 3/5 Skulls My Star Rating: 4.5 Stars Tropes: Accidental Marriage, Fae, Instalove, Samhain Ball
This anthology pushed me as a reader above and beyond genres I either avoid, or tend to skip over altogether. In the spirit of the spooky season, I pressed on and confronted my literary demons--pun intended--and was given a frighteningly good time in return.
The amount of talent and boldness within the authors as a collective is insanely fantastic and as a Brit, you know when we use that word, we love what we see or in this case, what we read. Namely, what I have read here in this anthology. The seamlessness of the putting together of these authors from all across the PNR spectrum is mind-blowing. Here we have authors who all specialise in their own area of book writing/novel writing, but they all work together to create this anthology that everyone really should get their hands on, spooky season or not.
Shivers were truly sent down my spine, and as someone who is more Christmas season than Spooky Season, I'm genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed reading every page.
Thank you ladies! Thank you all for an awesome anthology with a cause everyone should get behind to support!

Some short and sweet, but steamy stories. All of them are Halloween themed. I picked this up for one of my favourite authors, but have discovered new authors to check out from it. Definitely worth the time of reading. I still have a few more stories to read from it, but they’ll keep for quickie before sleep tonight. The sex is hot. Not in all the stories. There is a range, And I loved that they’ve given each story a rating of how steamy it gets so you know what to expect. It’s a well thought out and put together anthology with something for everyone.
This is an fantastic collection awesome stories, by some amazing authors. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one! I loved all of the entertaining storylines and the incredible variety of characters that are included! I loved the skull system this book has going on to tell you how steamy each story is, and let me just say, there is quite a bit of steam in these stories, I loved it!
I absolutely recommend this Anthology, and am very much looking forward to reading more from all of these Authors!
this was a really enjoyable anthology, the characters were great and I enjoyed going through each of the stories. Each of the stories were well done and I'd be interested in reading more anthologies from this publishers.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Some incredibly enjoyable novellas by some wonderful authors - I need to seek them out and devour all of their work! Though I enjoyed them all, I particularly enjoyed Marlee P Louis FF romance, magic and lust make for a heady cocktail. In all we have multiple paranormal romances to sink your teeth into - excuse the pun. Absolutely worth the cost and for a good cause too! Very steamy and a fabulous way to spend halloween.
So far: Ava by Shelly Ferguson is FANTASTIC! I loved the Phantom of the Opera Samhain vibes and FAE!!!!!! I always love a goo fae story especially when the fae are new and VERY exciting!!!!! 😍
This is a great anthology filled with a variety of authors who bring well written novellas that kept me entertained for hours. They bring magic and romance and cover all manor of paranormals and story lines. I enjoyed reading these stories and would recommend reading.
This review is for Defiance by Mariah Thayer
Nikki and Adam are fated mates but have to fight their way to be together. It's an intriguing story filled with anxiety as well as emotional pain.I enjoyed seeing them come together in the end. It's well written, moves fluidly and is a great read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Booktober is a PNR anthology that contains 11 stories by 12 different authors. This limited edition Halloween collection has a story for everyone - all different levels of heat and all different shades of spooky. There is something for everyone. Hands down this is the best anthology I’ve read in a long time. I loved every single story. Each story had amazing characters, were well written and had the most original plot lines. I love PNR but sometimes I feel like the different tropes are so over done that nothing is new or surprising anymore. This anthology blew me out of the water. There are a couple of my favorite authors in this book that I was super excited for, but most were new to me authors. I can honestly say that I will have so many more books to add to my TBR because I fell in love with so many new authors and their fabulous writing styles. Halloween may be over but it’s never too late to curl up with a good spooky story and this anthology is chock full of awesome ones. If you are a fan of paranormal romance this anthology will have plenty of stories for you to fall in love with. I highly recommend this anthology AND proceeds go to a great cause so it’s a win/win! I will be including a review of each story in the anthology.
Feral For You By: Miri Stone
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow! Such a fresh new spin on PNR. Miri is fantastic at world building. I was sucked right in to this new world of vampires and wolf shifters. Paranormal mixed with some mystery and suspense. Eliza is a spitfire who takes no crap and gives zero you-know-whats. Levi is that hot possessive alpha that bows to his queen. Stanley makes a great BFF for Izzy. This story has a bit of a Quentin Terrentino vibe where we start at the end and work our way back. The banter is great, the chemistry is hot and the story flows seamlessly. My only issue is that this ended WAY too soon! I need more! Great work Miri!
Dog Days By: K.O. Newman
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely LOVE Kat’s writing style! She has got shifters down to a T. Dog Days was a quick but very satisfying read. This story felt like a dirty version of Hocus Pocus with witches and curses and shifters. Even though it was instalove it still had a great plot line. Hunter is a great main character. I loved both the human and the dog version. Luna was sassy and confident just how I like my female leads. Holy cannoli was the steam H O T! Emma and James are great secondary characters, we all need friends like them. I would love to see more from this world, the small taste we got with this story is not enough! Hopefully we can get more details on what happens next for this group. Thanks for the great story Kat!
Defiance By: Mariah Thayer
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow. What an emotional read. This one pulled at the heartstrings and made my chest hurt a bit. Very well written second chance romance. Loved the world building, such an odd mix of supernaturals, I’d love to see more from Nikki and Adam and the secondary characters as well. The story flowed well and built up the emotions. I absolutely love the bond and chemistry between Adam and Nikki. Even though this was a short read, the character growth - on both sides -was phenomenal. Adam was not let off the hook. He made me so mad, but Mariah wrote me off the ledge so to speak. Great story and like the other ones my only grievance is that it ended too soon. I have to know what happens next! Mariah is a new to me author, but after this story I can’t wait to read more!
Siren’s Song By: Marlee P. Louis
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steeped in the mysterious and magical, Siren’s Song will hook you from the very first page. This book is not at all what I was expecting, but in such a good way. Briony isn’t having the best of luck in life and a chance encounter at a gas station alters the course of her life forever. Rowan is a fantastic character. The way Marlee has written her, I was just as enthralled by her as Bri was. This is a FF story, but even if that doesn’t seem like your cup of tea - give it a chance. This story is so well written and the plot is just so interesting. The chemistry is scorching and you can’t help but be drawn in by the characters and the unique plot line. A pinch of magic, a hint of mystery and a whole lot of sexy vibes, Siren’s Song will keep you warm on a cold night.
Princess and the Wolf King By: Emilia Rose & A.S. Sparks
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Whew! What a spicy read! Quick and dirty but it hits all the good spots. Aria maybe be a princess but she isn’t spoiled royalty. I love that she stands strong in her convictions and puts others before herself. Xander is everything you want in an alpha shifter - growly, possessive and takes charge. The chemistry is instant and smoking hot. Well written and even though it’s fast paced the plot flows well. This story ventures more on the dark side with a bit more violence so if that’s your jam you are in luck. This needs to be a full length book, I’m not nearly finished with the Princess and her Wolf King. Great job ladies!
Dances With Devils By: Raven Woodward
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holy hotness Batman! I was not expecting a party in a cemetery to go where this went. What a cool and original plot line. Loved every second of this. Great Halloween read. Amethyst is a great main character - she’s sassy and opinionated and I love her. The boys are just… yum! All the bad boys we love to hate all in one deliciously naughty story. The plot twist is just *chef’s kiss* I won’t spoil the plot twist but yeah it’s a doozy. Raven wrote great characters with off the charts chemistry. A story that has all the great supernatural aspects and some suspense and mystery thrown in. I need to get the rest of this story pronto!
The NecroDancer By: Mercy DeSimone
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“In my experience, big egos come with small dicks. And a reckless regard for human life.”
“Who knew hell smelled like wintergreen?”
These are just a couple of the quotes that jumped out at me in The NecroDancer. Clearly Mercy has the sass down pat. Well written characters, interesting plot line, sassy come backs, steamy moments and ghosts and zombies. This story has literally everything that you could want and need in a Halloween romance. Taryn is a girl I would love to be friends with IRL. Trick and Treat are just a whole lotta alpha yummy. The three characters together make for one kick @$$ and steamy story. Loved it and I can’t wait to read more from Mercy.
The Grave Keeper By: Ebony Olson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holy Hotness… like literally… a ménage with celestials on Halloween… a trifecta of naughty yumminess for our reading pleasure. Danse was such an interesting character, as someone who’s been through millennia the girl has been through it. I love how different and original this plot is. Talk about love conquers all and meant to be together. Aureus and Lucas are the Gods (no pun intended) of alpha hotness. Quick and dirty but with a plot that flows well, The Grave Keeper has you wishing you got an invite to this Halloween masquerade ball. This is definitely on the NSFW end of the dirty scale, especially compared to most of the other stories in this anthology.
Hunter’s Mark By: Marina Garcia
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
How a story can be both a paranormal suspense and a sweet romance is beyond me, but Marina walked that fine line with Hunter’s Mark. With death and destruction around every corner, Emil and Carmen still found a way to makes us fall in love with them and root for them to succeed. Great plot with a unique storyline that shows good and evil are shades of gray. Even being an instalove story it still felt very genuine and a bit of a slow burn. I wouldn’t mind getting lost in this world some more and see how Emil and Carmen’s unique situation plays out in the future.
Ada By: Shelly Ferguson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well THAT escalated quickly! What a fun read! Ada is a fun character, I could totally see myself hanging out with her. Ada was right that Eldur has the whole noble regency vibe going on. Tall, dark and handsome? Sign me up! Very quick read but the plot flowed well and was super satisfying. Instalove with conversation and romance, Ada was a lovely story. I loved this paranormal world that Shelly created. She’s a new to me author, but I can’t wait to read more about the town of Somerset and it’s townspeople.
Halloween Hook-Up By: Quell T. Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Talk about ending the book with a bang! Whew, that was spicy! Where can I find me an incubus?! Holy cannoli. I love that Ollie came to college sheltered and looking to spread her wings. But what makes this such an interesting read is that supernaturals are a normal thing and that Ollie had never been around them until college. It’s a bit of a different spin on college experiences. Giovanni is such a different main character than I’m used to. He could be the biggest horn dog what with being an incubus and all, but I love that he seemed almost vulnerable sharing what he was. The chemistry was great between Ollie and Giovanni, and the steam was holy moly HOT! Quick and dirty but VERY satisfying! Loved it!
Continuing my love/hate relationship with anthologies. I love experiencing new authors and getting a taste of what their work is like.
Most of the stories here are perfection, in that it’s a fully contained story, no prequel or sequel needed. A short story standalone, if you will. Mercy’s NecroDancer is a perfect example of that. It ends at a HFN point, everything is open so there could be more stories to tell, but it is a complete story in and of itself.
Other stories in here are more like… the first few chapters of new stories for the authors. These are the ones that I ‘hate’ in the love/hate relationship. I’m just getting into the story, things are going well…. And BAM! If you want more… add this to your TBR, more coming soon. My TBR WEEPS!!!! 😂🤣😂
All in all, this is an excellent collection for an excellent price for an excellent cause. 💜
Booktober is a super fun, if you like to be terrified sort of way, charity anthology! So far I have read 2 of the stories in the anthology and really liked them. I read Feral for You by Miri Stone and Dog Days by K.O. Newman. Feral for You is a shifter and vampire fated mate story that I could 100% see being a full length novel in the future. The characters have such a complex relationship that you can't help but get sucked in. Dog Days has witches, a centuries old curse and shifters. While it was a little dark it also had a fun take on shifter fated mates that I liked. Overall I liked the stories I read and hopefully I can read more stories in the anthology eventually!
Yay!! So many great stories in this antho!! I really loved Miri's and KO's stories, they never fail to write amazing pieces!! Met some new to me authors that I will definitely follow, got together with already known ones and helped a charity!! Plus, the stories are rated so you can choose the level of hotness you want to read (read them all, they are awesome) Do not miss this book! You are going to love it!
This is a good collection of Halloween steamy paranormal romantic reads all for a good cause. This collection has something to fit everyone. The stories are all unique and nicely developed. The characters are likable as well as most of the stories. I love anthologies, it is a good way to read stories by authors you like and new ones you can get introduced to.
I can’t seem to pass up a good anthology and when I saw this one was for Halloween had to have it. These were fun little stories that will get you into the holiday spirit. Looking forward to reader more from these authors.
This was a great anthology by some new to me authors. I enjoyed each novella as they were all well written and kept me entertained and they are supporting a good cause.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed almost all of the books in this anthology. I liked that they were so varied in terms of theme and characterizations. But my favorite part was how most of the stories felt so different. I didn't feel like I had read them all a thousand times before. And for the most part I was able to really root for the characters. There were a few times I was a bit worried that I was reading a doormat. But each time the character pulled it together and I was so excited for their backbone moment.
I really like that this has the overall theme and that the heat rating is in skulls. Very cute. There is also a blurb for each story with tropes. And at the beginning of the book is more info on the charity which is a really nice inclusion.

Halloween is my fav holiday of them all, so “Booktober: A PNR Charity Anthology” is a welcome addition to my holiday collection. There’s a good variety of short stories to choose from and they’re even graded as to steam level. The standout in the collection is “The NecroDancer” by Mercy DeSimone. It’s a delicious and well-thought-out story that’s begging to be expanded into a full-length novel. Taryn, our leading lady and her two slayers, Trick and Treat, kept me swiping at my Kindle the whole way through. Let’s just say, I’ll never be able to utter the words “Trick or Treat” again without thinking of Mercy’s steamy story. I highly recommend this anthology to get you in the mood … and not just for Halloween.
What a great collection of stories, really enjoyed this tantalizing read. This anthology features steamy, sexy, self-contained haunted romantic stories detailing a uniquely sexy couple in each. Filled with whatever the night might bring. With paranormal naughtiness and fun, this was a really exciting Anthology. If you're looking for a romantic anthology that will get you in the Halloween spirit, look no further. I flew through this spooky, sexy PNR anthology. The collection contains for me new talented writers that give you heart palpitations. Really enjoyed it. I say....read it and enjoy.

This is a variety of stories from multiple authors for charity. Quick stories that are complete, but make you want more for the characters. Every one of them has a ranking on the level of steamy. Very well written, and a lot of new to me Authors that I will be looking in to. There is something for everyone, depending on what you like.

I love anthologies. Sometimes you just want to read a quick story, and anthologies let you read something from authors you might not have read before. This one not only has a bunch of fun, Halloweeny stories, it has a blurb for each, with steam ratings and tropes listed, so you can choose what you’re in the mood for. And making it even awesomer, is that these lovely authors are donating all proceeds to a great charity. While not every story was totally my thing, I enjoyed reading them all.
5 stars for the Booktober Anthology. I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated are my own. OMG this anthology was great . I loved every book involved. IF you love sexy paranormal romances that will have you hooked from the first page then this is for you. Yes the novella’s are short but they aren’t short on the feels. I have to say this anthology is a must read
This is a must read for those of you that like Halloween inspired books. It’s full of shifters witches and much more. Each book is well written with some very steamy scenes, action and happily ever afters. You won’t regret it!

Miri Stone’s Feral for you was such a perfect quick read to sink your teeth into. It was steamy with a great storyline. It also left you wanting more. Which is the perfect short. Plus the proceeds of this anthology goes to an awesome charity.
I'm clearly biased but I love this series. Each of the indie authors contributed an amazing story with all of the proceeds (every penny) going to the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center (@niwrc).
