A ghost from the past.
A parents’ worst nightmare.
And a race against time through the heart of the wilderness.

Eight years after the events of Man In The Water, Jack takes Joseph on a camping trip for some much needed father/son time. But when he wakes up to find Joseph missing from their tent, everything he thinks he knows about the past is suddenly brought back into question.

As Stacey finds herself in the midst of a sinister plot back home, Jack faces the wilderness and a father’s worst fear in book two of the Jack and Stacey Green thrillers.

So I haven't actually finished the book yet, but I'll give my analysis of what has happened so far... Basically Jack is trying to save his son from literally getting kidnapped. It shows how much love Jack has for his son and how much trust he has to put into his training and his hard work. Stacy his wife is someone I feel uneasy about.. She is part of the CIA, but is also included in some Russian scary thing and I don't trust her... At all. It just shows how you really never know someone. That is so scary. Jack will never know who Stacy really is and who's side she is on. I would say it teaches me to be careful on who I trust. Some people that are closest to us aren't what they seem to be. I like the book because it is intense and a page turner. I live for the page turner books and love how I can read them for like 8 hours with no pauses. This book definitely grabs your attention and makes you want to keep reading. I don't really like how long it is taking for Jack to get his son back. It is kind of an excessive story... If that makes sense like JUST GET ON WITH IT. "He was in a constant state of wonder, unable to take his eyes from all of the trees and flowers that surrounded them. Jack couldn't tell if he was legitimately in awe of the scenery or if he was hoping to catch a glimpse of Bigfoot." (Hill 97) I don't know why, but this quote just is so good. I love how Jack notices how his son feels and how he knows what he is thinking. Jack loves Joseph and I want to be the same way for every person in my life. Really truly just adore them. So far I give it 5 stars. I really love this series and have enjoyed the excitement it gives me every time I read it.

very graphic injuries

I like the book ,”The Man in the Water” so I thought I would give this book a shot, pun intended(you will get it when you read the story). Some parts are extremely graphic and almost turned my stomach but it is easy enough to get past it. For being 500+ pages it was a remarkably quick read. My only complaint is there were a few typos but that did not ruin the story and I was able to carry on. All in all it was a very good story and I kept asking,”Jack, how do you get yourself in these predicaments?” Looking forward to the next book, “Man in the Fire”

I read this the day after I read “Man In The Water”, a novel that I didn’t like much. Since I already owned this 2nd novel in the series, in digital format, I thought I would quickly read it the following day, not realizing that it was 514 pages, twice as long as #1. I’m glad I read though it as I liked this book better than the first, but not enough to give it a rating higher than 3. It really did seem like the author, who does have a knack for writing suspense / thrillers, tried to drag this one out a bit and sometimes Jack seemed to not be moving quickly enough in any sense of the word. I dislike books that waste my time. This was, at times. a borderline time-waster when it should have been more of a riveting page-turner.

I really like these straight forward stories with nothing but action and story telling. I finished it very quickly and it was an easy read. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
