"Weather changes all the time. It helps you decide how to spend the day."

Are YOU between ages 3-5 and have ever looked up to the sky and wanted to know why?

Why is it changing outside all the time? What does it mean? What's up with the clouds? Why are always changing? (And much, much more?)

Well, look no further! This handy little guide is for you!

"Clouds might look light and fluffy but they're very heavy. One cloud can weigh more than one million pounds!"

This adorable little book is a fun and educational take on what the weather is and what it does.

It goes through all the seasons and teaches about what to expect during what weather.

"Is the sun shining today? Put on your coolest shades!"

There's even a bit of science to explain how rain works, why thunderstorms happen and more!

"Look outside after a thunderstorm and you might see a rainbow."

The illustrations are so much fun - vibrant, colorful and exciting. I loved the variety of characters present and bold style!

This adorable little books is perfect for the little why-monster in your life!

A huge thank you to Huda Harajli and Rockridge press for sending a free copy to me in exchange for an honest review

Good to look through, simple concepts. What do you do, or wear, in various weather conditions? Very basic scientific information. For example snowflakes are different shapes, but they all have six sides, rainbows form when light shines through raindrops. Quite a bit of writing. Very colorful and beautiful. Kindergarten+.

Thank you to Callisto Publisher's Club for the advance copy.

I don't usually request children's books for review, but this one seemed so cute and useful I had to check it out. I tutor a few children in English and used it with them to see how they liked it. I'm pleased to report that they loved it! My students are non-native speakers, so they're a little bit older than the recommended age for the book, but that didn't seem to be a problem. We read through it together and I explained unfamiliar vocabulary and asked them about the pictures. The beautiful, simple illustrations and expansion activities made this book fun and interactive. It took us an hour to get through it (split into four 15-minute reading sessions over the course of one week). One of my students now specifically requests to read, when she previously preferred to (verbally) describe pictures or write a few vocabulary words. I've been using the momentum from All About Weather to guide her through a few Dr. Suess books, and we'll try Madeline next. I'm definitely keeping this one in my arsenal and recommending it to everyone!

Long long book! Jumped around a lot while reading it but great to read a few pages about what weather you are talking about and to build background knowledge.
Read a head of time.

Another mainly instructional book, "All About the Weather: A First Weather Book for Kids," is just as it is named. The bright colors included in this book and its organization, are its high points. There seems to be little guessing and way more information for a reader to absorb. Each full-page spread has a question on one side about the weather and then a definition and visuals on the other. For example, "What are Seasons?" is accompanied by an explanation of the seasons and images of trees that are experiencing the various seasons. The good thing about "All About Weather" is that, after each definition, explanation and visual, there are relatable ways that a child can enjoy each weather situation. This concept makes the book more relatable to younger readers and its content is straight to the point. The illustrations for the book done by Jane Sanders appear to be possible cutouts and simplistic but this book does not need complicated visuals for children to understand. In my opinion, as a future educator, this might not be the best book to expand on a lesson involving the weather. However, creatively speaking, there are ways this book could inform students about the weather, but it needs an actual story, and not just be a compilation of information. If I were to use this alongside a lesson, I would maybe do it simply as a read aloud and ask more questions besides what are included in the text. The imagery and color choices within the book save it from me totally writing it off. Beginning readers will love the bright colors, various ethnicities portrayed, and the fun the children have no matter what weather occurs.

Even toddlers can learn about the weather outside their window. Talking about if the sun is shining or if it is raining and the season we are in are important learning topics for preparing them for school. It’s really their first exposure to Earth Science. Once kids are in school, in lower elementary, usually kids gather on the carpet and one of the first things the class does during calendar time is discuss the weather outside. This book would be excellent for introducing weather to toddlers through kindergarten.

First of all, the illustrations use bright, bold colors with crayon-like drawings to engage the youngest kids. The children and adults featured on the pages are of various genders and races and are having fun no matter what the weather is doing. It’s raining out? Then let’s read a book. There is a thunderstorm outside? Let’s play a board game.

The science of weather is explained succinctly and in a fun way to get kids excited to look out their window or step outside their door to see if they can decide what their weather is today. There are even pictures and descriptions of clouds so children can learn how to identify them.

This book on the weather is very well done and would be great for home or classroom libraries. If you are looking for a fun and simple way to introduce weather concepts to our youngest learners, this book is the one.

This children's picture book describes all different types of weather, and gives some simple scientific information about temperature and cloud types. I like the writing style that is perfect for a child's level of understanding.

The illustrations are adorable! Full of bright colors, each page draws the reader in. The clouds are smiling, and the children are playing in the rain.

There are even questions to answer in the text, prompting the reader to choose the right accessories for a rainy or cold day. Should I wear boots or sunglasses? Should I carry mittens or an umbrella? I like that the book gets the reader involved, and encourages children to think carefully.

I was disappointed to see a statement about the sun being 4.5 billion years old. There's no scientific evidence of that. It's a theory, but it's presented in this book as fact. It's misinformation like this which promote fallacies into becoming public knowledge. Other than that, all the other information appears to be correct.

This adorable book is perfect for ages 4-7.

In this book, children are able to learn about the different seasons and types of weather. It is a creative, highly educational and entertaining book for children. The illustrations are too cute. Each page is full of bright colors, making it easier to draw the reader in. The clouds are smiling, and the children are playing in the rain. This book shows readers that the earth has different types of weather and 4 seasons: spring, summer, winter, fall. These seasons all are depicted with different colors in the book and each season has various images. Spring is captured through warm sun and flowers, summer is hot and sunny, fall has colorful leaves, and winter is cold and snowy. The author even added scientific facts throughout the book, such as the freezing temperature of water or that wind can be harnessed for electricity.

This book encourages children to think and it truly gets them involved. They prepared a set of questions that help readers choose the right accessories for a rainy or cold day. Or questions like, Should I wear boots or sunglasses? Should I carry mittens or an umbrella? There are even little games in the back that encourage critical thinking and help practice the information they just read about. This adorable book is perfect for ages 4-7

“All About the Weather” by Huda Harajli MA is a picture book. This book was published on March 10, 2020 by Rockridge Press. The ISBN is 9781646116171. The age group for this book ranges from the age of three to five years old. This book is an exciting and educational book for children. Children will be able to learn about the different types of weather and the four seasons. I rated this book a four out of five. This book illustrations are great. The book goes into detail the texture of different objects as well. The colors chosen for this book is appealing to young readers. The word choice is easy to understand for their level. I would use “All About the Weather” by Huda Harajli MA when working with children for the reason that the book goes into detail about the different types of weather and four seasons. It is very educational on the weather types and how the weather occurs. The book also goes into detail about the activities children can participate in and where they can happen depending on the weather. The book can also relate to math with different shapes and counting. At the end of the book, it is interactive with children, they can point to the items needed for that specific type of weather.

All About Weather talks about what weather is how it is always changing. Next, the author talks about each season and what happens in them. The author then goes on to explain further about specific parts of the weather like how the sun works and what clouds are. After each part of weather is explained the author gives examples of what you can do outside when the weather is different. This is a very good educational book for young children who are starting to learn about weather. The illustrations are very engaging and demonstrate all the parts about weather perfectly. I thought it was neat that their were mini facts shown throughout the book, like how long water stays in the sky before coming back down or how counting the seconds between thunder and lightning can help you determine how far away the storm is. I gave this book five stars because it is a great learning tool for young children. I like the bright illustrations that pull you in to help show the different weather patterns. Additionally, the book flowed very nicely when introducing all the different parts of weather.

This book is a colorful read and full of information about the weather and earths seasons. I enjoyed that this book is written in a way that is engaging and the pictures in the book add to the overall message of each page. This book shows us that the earth has many different types of weather and 4 seasons: spring, summer, winter, fall. These seasons all are depicted with different colors in the book and are exemplified with various images. Spring is captured through warm sun and flowers, summer is hot and sunny, fall is colorful leaves, and winter is cold and snowy. In the middle of the earth there are only two seasons- hot or cold. This book would allow young readers to learn about the weather as we experience it every day in a way that represents people from various cultures and various areas to live. Another aspect of this book explains the water cycle and engages with its readers by asking hypothetical questions. I really liked this book because not only was it colorful, it was representative of multiple cultures, not all characters were white! Perfection!

This adorable book teaches young kids about weather and all that comes with it. From the seasons to hat different types of weather there are, this book covers it all. This is done through a group of children, a diverse group I might add, explore each season and type of weather and it’s components. I really liked how adorable the drawings were, and how simple questions are asked to educate on each topic of weather. There are a variety of opportunities for further questions to be asked. This book would be a great starting point for a lesson on seasons, rain, wind, or any component of the weather. I really liked this book and thought the illustrations were adorable. It also has questions for the reader at the end to answer based on their reading, which could easily be copied and made into an exit ticket or worksheet for the classroom lesson on weather. I would get this for my young child, to have in a class library, or to teach a lesson with. Great book with simple and informative pages that helps students get a good basic and foundational understanding about weather.

Huda Harajli’s book, All About Weather: A First Weather Book For Kids, illustrated by Jane Sanders informs the readers what the weather is and how many different types of weather there are. It tells the different four seasons and how the weather looks when they are around. It also tells the reader how some weathers are made.

This book contains very accurate information about the weather and is explained in a narrative style which makes it easier for the reader to understand it. The drawings are pretty simple and well done. Making it easier for the reader to relate to what is being displayed on them. The little bubbles that are displayed with some facts about certain types of weather are simple but with great information. Personally, I liked this book because the information is accurate and the way that is presented is quite entertaining and easy to follow and the drawings are pretty interactive.

This is a fun little book with tons of information about the weather. Just like it is in the title "All about Weather: A First Weather Book for Kids", this should be every kids first book about weather. The fun and colorful pictures, the questions, the explanations, it is all about the weather and it is very informative. You will not have a lot of questions regarding weather once you get your hands on this book.

We all know the curiosity of a child and their million and one questions about everything. This book takes some pressure off of the parent or guardian takes the responsibility from you and places it in one neat little colorful package.

And just like this review, the book is short and to the point. Not a story to follow, but information to receive. It does not let you ponder but makes you understand.

Would recommend this book to any parent, or teacher who wants to further engage on a topic such as weather with young children and make it fun and relatable.

Charmingly written and delightfully illustrated, "All About Weather: A First Weather Book for Kids" makes it enjoyable and easy to answer "Why?" questions about the weather. Author Huda Harajli, an elementary teacher, writes weather books for children and also promotes weather safety awareness. The brightly colored, appealing illustrations along with the simply-worded, but interesting, weather info will make this a favorite family read-along. Here are some fun facts: Near the middle of the earth, there are only two seasons: rainy and dry. There are four types of clouds: Cumulus, Stratus, Cirrus, and Nimbus. Snowflakes are different shapes, but they all have six sides. Try counting the seconds between lightning and thunder--the higher the count, the farther away the storm is. Be weather-wise, stay safe, and don't forget the sunscreen!

A really cute introduction to weather for preschoolers! It talks about seasons, clouds, storms, rainbows, and lots more, all in a simple and conversational way. The illustrations are adorable and I loved the use of bright colors. Some specific scientific facts are scattered throughout the book, such as the freezing temperature of water or that wind can be harnessed for electricity. And it has a few pages of simple games at the back, allowing kids to put what they've learned about weather into practice. Overall, this is a super cute book that covers quite a few weather topics in an exciting and visually appealing way.

Full disclosure some of the pictures I love, but some of the art/style threw me off.

That being said: I was WRONG. The writing / content was way better than I expected it to be! The writing was the perfect level of informative and fun. It also had (really cool!!) fun facts for that older sibling to enjoy the book too (gotta love a book that can be differentiated :).

I was pleasantly surprised by this one because I made assumptions based off of look on its quality that didn’t end up to be correct.

I can see this working in a 1st grade weather unit too (I know some 1st grade rooms that do that:).

Thanks to the publishers for a free copy in exchange for an honest review, this one is solid!

"All About Weather: A First Weather Book for Kids," is a great non-fiction book for ages three through five to get them interested and excited about the seasons! This is an eBook through kindle as well! Children reading this story will be taken along for the truth and wonders about all four seasons. This books does amazing at teaching children why rainbows are made, how clouds are formed, and includes the cycles of rain! The illustrations do such an amazing job at showing children exact details and allow for better understanding of our weather. I would use this in my classroom to teach about weather in many forms. Summary: This nonfiction title describes different types of weather including rain, snow, sunshine, and wind in an entertaining and informative way.
Review: The book is full of clear and cheerful illustrations and uses simple language to explain the phenomena of weather and make children interested in the natural world.
All About Weather is a book that is already included in our class library. We first had a lesson about different types of weather and allowed the children to draw pictures of the weather they saw in the book. After we completed the lesson the book was added to the library and the children love ot go back in the book to try to reread what was taught.

All About the Weather: A First Weather Book for Kids is really very awesome! I would recommend it for grades pre-k to 2. The illustrations are bright and colorful and chockful of details, so the younger children will love having it read to them. The older children up to grade two will enjoy reading it themselves.

This book explains many things about weather, like what snow, rain, clouds, rainbows, thunder, and the sun really are. There are these cute little insets that explain little scientific details. I would recommend this book for young, quizzical children.

I had never heard of this book before but after reading it I think it is a great concept book about the weather! This book describes the weather as a whole and then breaks it down into each individual season. Some pages have many words while others only have small text bubbles. The illustrations in this book are so bright, vibrant, and detailed! I love how under certain pictures there are labels, for example, there's a page where it shows a picture of a tree going through each season, and each tree is labeled. There are also parts of the texts that ask questions so it will be a book your kids can talk about with you!

The summary of the book is the weather. Learning about all 4 of the seasons and as well as what the sun is, how clouds form, why it rains so on and so on. The genre of the book is informational. What children can learn from this book is weather. Why the sun comes out after it rains or the rainbow. What causes it to rain, what causes storms etc. This book is a WOW book for me because even though I'm a freshman in college I learned some new things as well. What I like that the author did was keeping the book informative but also kids will be engaged to the book because of the amazing illustrations. I don't believe the is bias.

This interactive book is an informational non-fiction book showing what the weather is. This book starts with a child asking what the weather is, why the sky looks the way it does, and why the air feels a certain way. The story continues explaining how the weather works and why certain changes happen every year, each day, and possibly each hour. For example in the book it states how “weather also changes throughout the year. These changes are called seasons. Many places on Earth have four seasons. Spring. Summer. Fall. Winter.” This story then goes on to explain that during each season you play certain sports that pertain to the different weather, such as swimming in summer, or ice skating in winter. The illustrations on each page are extremely colorful, catching the attention of their younger readers. The illustrations also include little faces on each picture of an inanimate object, depicting the moods each weather type would make individuals feel who are reading. These images are cute, engaging, and easy to understand for younger audiences. This book would be useful in teaching children about why the weather changes so often and how to have fun in each of these specific weather occasions. This book is recommended for children ages 3 - 5 years.

I thought this book was a great first look at weather for younger children. It began by describing weather either as what it looks like or how it feels outside. It then went on to explain that the weather changes based on the season. It used simple terms and colorful pictures to illustrate what the weather looks like in each season. I plan on reading this book to my kindergarten classduring our weather unit next year! Overall, I would give this book 4 stars.
