One tough man. One hardened woman. Let the games begin... Martial arts expert Robyn Armour protected herself from an attacker a little too well and spent five years in prison looking after her fellow Cell Block C inmates. Now that she's finally free, she's a little jealous of the happiness the other girls have found, but her dreams don't include making Second Chance Ranch her home. All she wants right now is a decent cup of coffee and a man. And Keanan McKinley-a walking paradox whose body is the eighth wonder of the world-is sex dipped in hot fudge and rolled in sprinkles. Yet there's something different about his kisses-his touch. His wounded heart beats in time with hers, making her want to be the right woman-a forever kind of woman. But his ranch is in Wyoming, and her parole ties her to Colorado. When a past mistake tries to take back her hard-won control, will it ruin all their lives and tear her away from the home she's found in Keanan's arms?

Martial arts expert Robyn Armour finds a temporary home at her friend Mickey's 'Second Chance Ranch' when she is released from prison after serving five years for defending herself when she was attacked. She joins her best friends and chosen 'sisters' at the ranch where they all support each other.
Keanan McKinley, the oldest brother of the four McKinley boys is at the ranch to attend his brother's wedding and not happy to be away from his ranch in Wyoming. He also does not like that all the women are ex-cons and at his first meeting with Robyn, he lets her know how he feels.
A escape artist colt, an ex-boyfriend that won't take no for an answer although he is now married with a son and another child on the way, a parole officer with lots of attitude and a developing romance keeps Robyn busy.
I love how the big tough cowboy turned into a considerate and thoughtful lover and protector for Robyn. The group at the ranch worked together to figure out how to help the orphan colt and Robyn played a critical role in the solution. The trouble with the ex-boyfriend escalated to add dangerous situations to the plot of Set On You.
Uhhh They know each other for less than 24hours, they had sex , hero left her without saying nothing, treated her like discarded condom, and she had sex with him again in less than 24hours. Girl, use that dildo your friends presented to you!!!
Only 3 stars: I liked she had black belt and used it and there were good hot sex scenes. That's all. Unlikable MCs
Robyn Armour has just been released from prison after spending 5 years in jail for beating a man. She is a martial arts expert after being attacked in college and rescued by Joe, her former fiance. She decides to head to Second Chance Ranch until she figures out where she is going to go next.
Keanan McKinley doesn't agree with his brother Kerrick's choices to allow former "criminals" to live at the ranch. Yet he is attracted to Robyn although his own past prevents him from thinking there is a chance for the two of them.
Unfortunately for Robyn her past is not forgotten and when she is attacked by a man her martial art skills again get her in trouble but Keenan is there for her. Will Keenan be able to give Robyn a chance and not judge her on the mistakes made by others?
When Robyn begins to get prank calls she realizes that it may be harder than she thought to leave her past behind her.
I loved this book!!
I felt so bad for Robyn when I discovered why she was imprisoned and I can't say I would have different if I had her abilities in martial arts. Going to jail caused her to lose her fiance and she knew she had to start all over again but wasn't sure where she would wanted to be. I loved her friendship with Mickey and the rest of the girls and was so glad they had each other for starting over.
Initially Keanan was such a jerk and yet he still had Robyn's back when he knew she did nothing wrong. Their friendship and trust was both fast and slow at the same time. I loved that they had a kind of instant love once they realized what they wanted as they were both in their 30's and knew what they wanted.
I thought the relationship between Houdini and Robyn was so special and I loved when Keanan would overhear the confessions that Robyn would tell Houdini. It was a great bond!
I was confused with Tanya and why she wanted Robyn to live with them but was totally shocked with the scars although I wasn't surprised about the calls.
I love this series and I can't wait to see what the author has coming out next!!
What an awesome read! If you like fast paced romance, with a twist of suspense, an unstable ex, and a whole lot of "chosen family", this is definitely the book you won't want to miss. After having spent the last five years of her life in prison for defending herself from an unstable man during a robbery, Robyn is finally out and ready to take back her life, hopeful that it will be a new and improved one. Off to live with her former prison mates/sisters of choice, at least until she can figure out what she will be able to do, the last thing she expects to find is a man. But find one she does, in the form of Mickey's soon to be older brother-in-law, Keanan McKinley. And what a brooder he is. Keanan has already lost one love many years ago to the prison and drug scene, and he's not about to get attached to another. At least that's what his brain keeps trying to tell his heart. But it doesn't take long for his heart to over rule his stubborn head. They will have many mountains to climb before they can settle on their happy ever after, one being an insistent stalker. When Robyn finally discovers out who he is, will it be too late for her and Keanan? A beautiful story of love and the rough road we sometimes have to take in order to find it.
This is the last book in the Second Chance Ranch series. You do not have to read them in order because each one is it own story. Be worn when you finished this one and you have not read any of the ones befor it you are going to want to start from the first book and read all of them. This is Robyn and Keagan story Robyn has just got out of jail after 6 years and her ex was there and she Got him to take her to the Second Chance Ranch where she was going to stay until she could sort her life out. When she got there they were preparing for Mickey's wedding. When she first saw Keagan there was sparks between them but Keagan had problems trusting people who have been to jail. This is the story of the journey that they took together. This book has all the right ingredients in it to keep you glued right to the end of the book. Even though you don't have to read the books in order this one ties everything together. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This one feels a little lighter than the previous titles in the series. Maybe it's because Robyn is a little older, more mature, there's not as many angst-y emotions and mood swings. Don't be fooled, there's still lots of big emotions and drama in here, including several moments that had me fighting tears. My only real complaint is that I missed having the second perspective in the story. I loved living in the heads of the heroes in the previous books. Without being able to see things from Keanan's point of view, I felt like I didn't get the chance to connect with him as much as I had with his brothers. I loved the look ahead with the epilogue. It provides the necessary closure to everyone's stories while leaving the door open for the possibility of future stories about Second Chance and the McKinley's I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
SET ON YOU by Kelly Collins. Interesting, and makes one ponder, if you were Robyn. She had spent a sixth of her life in prison for defending herself. 32 years old, and its her ex fiancé that picks her up from prison. He is married and has a family, yet,he welcomes her to stay with them. The dojang she worked at is gone, now what she has little money. She heads to Second Chance Ranch, there is a wedding that weekend. One cowboy, Keenan, brother of the groom, happier when on his ranch in Wyoming. Then being surrounded by ex con females. Is the past going to cheat her out a future. Her spirit attracts him. The plot flowed, characters were described good. Enjoyed reading, new author for me, and looking for next book by her. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Another wonderful story on The Second Chance Ranch.
The last of the girls has been released from prison and makes her way to the ranch to help get back into reality. Robyn has spent 6 years in jail, her former fiance has moved on and married, although all is not as it seems with him. This was a nice twist in the story. As well as Robyn being the last of the girls Keanan, the last of the McKinley brothers remains single. He doesn't want a woman who is meek and timid. He wants a woman who can be trusted but is Robyn this woman, she has been to jail and that is the last type of woman he wants in his life. Once he sets eyes on her his body starts telling him different. This is a terrific series and I have loved every single word from the 5 books. Kelly Collins has done it again
Robyn the last if the magnificent five served her 5 years for reacting. Although self defense, because she is a 3rd degree black belt, she was charged with being excessive. Keanen the oldest of the the McKinley brothers has a chip on his shoulder about convicts, really turns out to be adequately described as a a brownie. Crispy outside and yummy soft goodness on the inside. The journey they go through to come together is really well done. Steamy intimacy scenes, intense drama, a surprising twist and an ending that gives all the McKinley's and The Second Chance family a very happy ever after. Worth reading the 5 book series. You'll definitely enjoy.
Wow, The Second Chance Series is awesome as usual! Robyn getting out of jail, now where to go, heads to her sisters not by blood, but sisters just the same, to stay till she can decide what to do, and where to go. Mickey is getting ready for her wedding to Keagen, and she meets his older brother Keenan, whom she thinks is stuffy, rude, arrogant, yet sexy as hell. So not sure what she will do, ranch life is not really her thing, but she will have to be checking in with her Parole Officer, now there is Keenan. What to do? Enjoy their story, it's fun, flirty, intense at times, sexy, just a great story.
so what happens when your ex picks you up from prison but acts like he still wants you but is also taken . and what if one man makes her want to kick his butt but yet kiss him . and what if you keep getting strange phone calls is it the man who got her in prison before or someone who she knows from her past . and can one man change her world and can she change his . and who will be with Keara and will there be more of a story for her book as there has been for all the mckinleys but one Keara their sister and is it cole and what of her exes wife will they stay together or will she find a better man . i want more second chances series .
Robyn was a martial arts expert; she protected herself from an attacker; and, ended up spending five years in prison. Does she get a second chance in life or is the world set against her. The fabulous five are now all out of prison and making new lives on Second Chance Ranch. I've loved this series and the strength of the women who worked to trust again and the men they met who loved them. The sensual scenes are well written and each story can stand alone. I've become a fan of second chance romance and the stories of starting over. This is a great read!
I really loved this whole series, and this book does not disappoint, the story is just perfect! I loved Robyn and all her strength and struggle to fit in and belong somewhere. And Keanan is another perfect McKinley, despite doing some bullshit at the beggining. The story has some twists that surprised me, and the ending was perfect! I just wanted that it have a little more about the other characters in the end.
A quick read and I feel a little sad that I've come to the end of the series. I'm going to miss the characters. There wasn't a moment that I didn't like Robyn, I liked her grit and she certainly needed that to be able to keep up with Keanan. A good story but way too short.
Loved it!! This is book 5 in the Second Chance series and Keanan and Robyn's story. They seemed to hate each other in the beginning and of course fell in love. Two damaged hearts can heal each other. Highly recommended book and series, so well written it just flows and was hard to put down.
This is Robyns book. She is the last one to be released from prison after serving the longest sentence. She is like the Mother of the rest of the girls. A protector. She meets her match in her man. Sparks fly fast. Very hot
The oldest McKinley doesn't disappoint rough touch teddy bear. And the mother hen of the Fabulous Five Robyn deadly weapon cunning and companionate. Sparks keep flying.
This fifth book in the Second Chances standalone series was amazing. Robyn and Keanan are both tough and sturdy while also being tender hearted. The little bit of suspenseful twist was a perfect touch. I loved revisiting the ranch and all of the characters from the first four books.
This whole series has been one of the best. Each story was a fantastic story that was well written. I would recommend his whole series as each story is different and great
A fast paced read with drama and some big emotions, which at times will have you fighting a few tears. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I have read all 5 books and really enjoyed the stories. The ladies in all the books are just out of prison and reunite at Mickey's ranch for a chance at a new life.
I absolutely loved this series. Five girls, met in prison for crimes they did time for, they became close friends. From friendship they developed a family. Family members who looked out for each other, protected each other and loved each other. This latest book in the series is about how the past sometimes creeps in Martial arts expert Robyn Armour protected herself from an attacker a little too well and spent five years in prison looking after her fellow Cell Block C inmates. Now that she’s finally free, she’s a little jealous of the happiness the other girls have found, but her dreams don’t include making Second Chance Ranch her home. All she wants right now is a decent cup of coffee and a man. And Keanan McKinley—a walking paradox whose body is the eighth wonder of the world—is sex dipped in hot fudge and rolled in sprinkles. Yet there’s something different about his kisses—his touch. His wounded heart beats in time with hers, making her want to be the right woman—a forever kind of woman. But his ranch is in Wyoming, and her parole ties her to Colorado. When a past mistake tries to take back her hard-won control, will it ruin all their lives and tear her away from the home she’s found in Keanan’s arms?
I purchased this book and was also given an advanced copy from the author (I really appreciated that as I have trouble waiting for release dates).
I would actually rate this one 4.5 stars but I rounded up as it is very well written and the author included a fantastic 1 year later epilogue that gives updates on all of the characters. The reason for the 4.5 instead of 5 stars is that in the previous books there was a build up to the relationship and I didn't really see it in this one (this one almost felt like insta-love).
Robyn and Keanan are actually perfect for each other as their wants and needs are aligned. The story is very fast paced, as the ranch is getting ready for Mickey and Kerrick's wedding and Robyn is trying to adjust to her freedom and has to deal with a clingy ex. I enjoyed the book and what seemed like the introduction of a character for Kelly Collins' next book (which I look l forward to reading).
Overall, I would say that it is a great wrap up to the Second Chance series.
The story would have been fine but main main man Keenan would have had to have been a machine to perform sexually as often as he did. Mostly it was pornography in it’s entirety. I couldn’t, with a good conscience recommend it for anyone to read .
