Pop a Little Pancake

Rate this book
This charming series has been specifically designed for babies. A great introduction to books through well-known nursery rhymes and interactive text. Singing songs and rhymes is the perfect way to bond with your baby and share quality time. It also aids language development by introducing them to the natural sounds and patterns of speech. Combining these with actions also stimulates the brain and helps muscle development.

Two toddlers make pancakes from their playdough, singing a song as they toss the pancake in the air, sprinkle sugar on top, and even squeeze lemon juice onto the pancake.

I love that this board book has the sheet music for the song on the back cover, so that if you read music, you can play and sing along.

I really like the bright colors and simple design of this book. It's perfect for catching the attention of little readers!

This book is great for getting babies and toddlers to move with the song and match their movements to the words. And it's a wonderful way to get children's imagination sparking as they pretend and play making pancakes. There is so much learning going on in this book!

Although I'm not familiar with this particular nursery rhyme or tune, the repetitive lines in the text and bright colors in the artwork will have strong appeal for little ones. While it's highly unlikely any parent or caregiver will allow a child to cook real pancakes on a stove or flip them in the air, young readers will smile at the notion of doing so and enjoy following the boy and girl in this board book as they use a rolling pin and Play-doh to prepare their imaginary breakfast. Books such as this one and activities such as this are ideal for encouraging imagination and helping youngsters learn the steps in certain tasks. Plus, the rhymes offer practice in oral language, making it fun to speak and express themselves.
