I read this because I am writing my final history final on the Domiciliary Family Planning Service in Glasgow and Miss Libby Wilson you are a mess! This book is borderline incriminating at times like what do you mean you went around cornering women and injecting them with a contraceptive when they aren't looking... Libby if you love depo-provera so much why don't you marry it.
She did a lot of important things but with a quick google of half the 'pioneer' doctors that she mentions in this book, you can see that they basically all had their clinics funded by the Eugenics Society so click click Libby I see you. In my opinion this book is full of anti-Glaswegian micro aggressions and that priest was right to try and run her out of town! Also the irony was not lost on me that she was a family planning doctor with seven children. That being said she was a very important woman at the end of the day and I would have no history essay to write if it was not for her. It is just a bit of a strange read in the sense that it feels like listening to your doctor chatting shit about you, but I guess she is allowed to do that.
