Sequels are hard, aren’t they? We’re back with Dem in the manor she’s fighting so hard to keep. This was a super continuation of Book 1 with continued character development. She’s not the most original FMC in the world, but we all like a sassy queen, right?

A much anticipated second book

Cait Cro did it again! This book was everything I had hoped and waited for, but so much better than I anticipated. The FMC has been through so much and is trying to navigate a world that is new to her with friends and enemies piling up. The author brought me as the reader along for the journey. Each twist and turn had my heart beating fast and the FMC made me want to cheer for her at every turn. There was intrigue, romance, subterfuge, and lots of sexy time. My imagination was in overload and I loved every minute. I love how she fleshed out all the characters and used such description to depict the various monsters the FMC came into contact with. If you loved Frankenstein's monster there is a scene in here for you ❤ . Don't pass this one by. I can't wait for the next! Please keep them coming!

I enjoyed most of this book. Around the 50% mark I ended up skipping a few pages as it was just getting a bit much!?
And some of the spicy scenes are quite hard to wrap your head around (I know they’re monsters and all!!) but the description of what’s happening can be pretty confusing.

Overall though, I did enjoy the story and how it developed - and how it ended on a cliff hanger ready for book 3.

Ugh. Idk.

There's nothing romantic about this book. Some of the world building was exceptional. The house's mysteries are interesting. There's a lot of meaningless spice that takes "gender fluid" to a whole new level. I like to think I am both hip and with it, so I powered through. Why not? But there's just no romance. Nothing feels nice. In fact, the ending made me feel the opposite of nice.

So much adventure and mystery! I love how much story is packed around the smut. Even though the events take place almost entirely in the big house, there is such a variety of imagery. I love snooping around this place with this character. And the underlying mystery is so intriguing! Can't wait for the next one.

I want the next booook. I’m reading it for the plot. No, really. NO, REALLY. I really like Demitra as a character and her supporting cast. I really like the world-building too. And if I’m going to be brutally honest, I’ve skimmed some of the sexy bits. With the exception of a few of them. They just got a smidge repetitive. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Will most certainly read more.

A fight for power of the house is happening but later they come to a truce. Meanwhile Demi finds out who killed her grandmother and takes care of him. There is more to the story and the hunt is on.
