The blurb on the back

"Harry dreams of going to sea in Admiral Nelson's fleet. But one day, delivering supplies to a ship, he is accidentally hit on the head. When he wakes, it's dark - and his dream has become a nightmare ..."

The book is set in 1805 when Harry is 11 years old. Mr. Mumford has a pet monkey and is teaching Harry to read and write. He promises Harry that the next time he sees him he can name the monkey and points to an embroidered sign " Theres no place like home" and tells him to remember the words.

I enjoyed the book but not as much as Treasure Island. I learned that a power monkey is a name given to boys who brought the cartidges and gunpowder to the cannons.
