Danny's story...Wow! He is an amazing mind and a kid just wanting to help the sister he loves. I feel like I know the character so much better and this novella made me want to read more about him. I particularly loved the visuals with his trip to not-quite-heaven. A really interesting "would I be willing to do that at that age" book. More, more, more!
It was such a pleasure to learn what extraordinary measures occurred to bring about the deep bond that Grace and Danny share. Every bit I learn about Danny just makes me smile. And even though the story hurts, it touches wounds, I felt it grow. Love this reality.
Life is a struggle for Grace - she's trying to be both mother and father to young brother Danny, [after their parents' fatal road accident] and is responsible for the household bills for both of them too. When she drives Danny to a book-signing, tension arises as Danny's forgotten the notes on author Dr Tyson's recent paper in the Astrological Journal, that he meant to take with them.
With an echoing tragic history almost repeating itself, Grace loses control of the car while arguing with her brother and also becomes a victim of the following events that will turn her life upside-down forever.
What is the outcome of the crash? Who is fatally injured and when do they realise what's happened? Where does Danny go and who ends up in the hospital? Why do Danny and Grace's parents come to speak to Danny? What is the message they give him? What choice does Danny have to make as a result? How is Grace different after the crash - what new abilities does she now possess?
Denise Bossarte cleverly intertwines the siblings' interactions and emotions, along with those of the other pro- and antagonistic characters in this novelette. The reader goes on a journey of foreboding and hope that this time the outcome can become a positive one for all involved and is gradually uplifted by the glimpse of a redemptive Paradise within the reach of those who love one another when they have passed 'through the veil'...a riveting brief read that will bring a positive vibe to your day!
Denise Bossarte never fails to thrill the reader with these amazingly rounded characters. I find that I lose myself not only in the characters, but the story every time I read it. From the point of view of the younger brother, Return brings clarity and understanding of how and why Danny became a ghost. This novella will keep you as enraptured as the novel Glamorous, also by Denise Bossarte.
This book is a companion for "Glamorous" and provides the reader with additional background information. It is a short and fast read and well done. The author does a great job of keeping the reader engaged in the story. Definitely five stars.
My first read from author Denise Bossarte, not something that I would typically read but found myself interested in reading her Grace Bishop series due to the description on "Gramorous and liked "Returned". Although it was short, it's still written really good and will read more of the series.
I read this book and was completely drawn into it just as i was the first Grace Bishop novel. This one was a short novella to tell Danny's story. I couldn't imagine the things that Danny went thru in the things he did. Such a short space of time for so much to happen. This book is a must for a reader yup get the complete story. Don't short change your self, as with all things Danny and Grace, oh so good. Denise Bossarte has again written a terrific read. I can only find so much to say about her writing that i don't keep repeating my self. It's just a wonderful read. Her work just has a great flow to it. I can't wait for the next!
I loved Danny in Glamorous: A Grace Bishop Novel. It was great to be able to see how he came to be a part of the continued story line. Loved this prequel!
While what she wrote was interesting the reader needs to be aware that this is merely a chapter, 34 pages long. I did not mind as I got the next book for free, but I was in shock when I turned the page and that was it. I am wondering if they sent me just the sample instead of the whole book?
