The Knight and the Princess

Gage -

Kiera Hasting isn’t supposed to mean anything to me.
She's supposed to be nothing more than a blip on my radar. Forgettable. Insignificant.
Only she’s not.
She gets under my skin in the worst way possible.
But I shouldn’t want to keep her.
I’m the reason her father is in prison.
I’m the reason she has nothing and no one left in this world.
She should hate me.
Only, the more time I spent with her, the more I realized I don’t want her to hate me.
I don’t want to let her go.

Kiera -

Gage Walker is my obsession.
My muse. My savior.
All my problems disappear whenever I’m in his arms.
I should let him go.
He’s not good for me.
He’s not good for anyone. Not with all the baggage he carries, not with his scowling face and not with his grumpy disposition.
Yet, when I look into those green eyes of his, none of those things mattered. Not even the fact that he is the man responsible for everything that I’ve lost.
I can’t let him go. I don’t know how, so I won’t.
Gage Walker will be mine.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: Protector
Angst:😰😰😰😰
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Triggers: attempted sexual assault

V.T. Do has done it again! Another super angsty read with a grumpy, but sweet hero that only wants to take care of the object of his affection /le swoon. Gage Walker finally got revenge on the man who he feels destroyed his sister, but in the process made Kiera Hastings destitute. For the past couple of years Gage has been keeping an eye on his enemy's daughter, but what he doesn't realize is she's been keeping an eye on him too. What should be an impossible relationship quickly becomes reality, but can they works past all their secrets?

I just loved this book so much! V.T. Do writes the best angsty reads without it being a huge drama llama, lol. Just a super sweet and emotional ride with a side of suspense! Gage is just the best hero. Super grumpy, protective, and possessive all at once. He manages to balance being super alpha without being an alphahole; kinda controlling and manipulative without being an @ss. Kiera is just awesome. She's an artist and is flighty and disorganized and has a temper - all things that *should* drive Gage crazy ... and she does, but in a good way ❤️. A fantastic read!

The Knight and the Princess is book 3 in the Entangled Past series and can be read as a standalone, but best appreciated read in order. The characters from the first 2 books do make appearances. I can't WAIT for the last book - that is the book I've been waiting for since book one!!

Gage and Kiera, I mean, wow! I loved their connection. Maybe I missed a little bit of the forbidden part or the feeling of age gap between them but there are other feels that this book brings and I couldn’t be happier receiving an Arc from this author.

Kiera is a strong heroine; I loved her fierce character and how the author gave her her own uniqueness. Since the first book, I've been wondering what’s the deal with the paintings and her story gave it so much depth and meaning. Usually, I really don’t like it when I read a series and every heroine is the same with a different name. This is not the case. V.t.Do is really good at giving life to her heroines.

Gage, I mean, there were times when I wanted to punch him in the face and there were times when I wanted to hug him. Even if every hero is different, being friends, I think is beautiful how they all share the insane protectiveness over the heroines. I also love myself some grumpy hero and Gage is everything but a sunny flowery character.

I said it, and I have to say it again, I was utterly disappointed when I found out the second book of the series was not Max's story. I was disappointed with the conclusion of Olivia's best friend story too. I just felt every little bit of the „unrequited “and thought both second characters of the first book deserved their love story.

With every book of the series released I was more and more worried that maybe I imagined everything. I just couldn’t see how would the author bring them back together, it felt impossible at times. But the author surprised me the hell out of me. I see it and I love it.

I think Max's story has the potential to be my favorite one (even better than the first one) and honestly, I can’t wait for it.

Another excellent job V.t.Do. I’m so glad I stumbled on your book last year and found you as an author!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review!

I absolutely loved this story. Kiera and Gage had me smiling from ear to ear, laughing at their ridiculously sweet jokes and just plain old gushing with love for them. I was hooked on their emotional journey of finding love and I never wanted it to end.

Gage and Kiera have this undeniable connection and amazing chemistry that continually pulls them together. It’s intense and utterly toe curling! Gage is very domineering and possessive over Kiera but she has a way of bringing out his softer side too. At times these two had me melting into a puddle of goo and needing to take a cold shower. They were insanely hot and spicy!

This story is really well written, pulling us in right from the beginning and keeping us captivated and highly entertained, never wanting the story to end. It’s filled with angst, drama, heartache, passion and love. It’s a story that will pull on your heartstrings, shock you with all the little twists and melt your panties from all the spice!

I loved every second of it and can’t wait for the next one!

Gage and Keira, their chemistry sizzles from the very beginning and in no way should Keira want to be anywhere near Gage but the pull to one another is so strong. Their sexual tension and their spicy scenes will have you panting for more. This story is filled to the brim with angst, suspense and emotions. Gage is the perfect alpha he is possessive and protective and is willing to burn the world to the ground with everyone in it to keep Keira safe. Keira had to overcome a lot but she had her strength and independence to keep it pushin and persevere. I loved everything about these two and their journey.  This book had me feeling all the emotions talk about the ups and the downs for sure. This is a must read.

I mean girl goals!?! The girl had her whole life turned upside down and still can came back swinging! I absolutely loved the book!! The chemistry between these two was off the charts and you could feel them connect through the pages. Another 5 star Read from VT and now can we bring on Max please 🤣

The Knight and The Princess is the third book in The Entangled Past Series. It’s a captivating and well written beautiful story, full of suspense, angst, fear, hope and belief for better. With constant pull and push between them. I laughed and I cried. Emotional rollercoaster. I loved Gage and hated him, to be back again to find positives in him. Despite feeling unworthy of any attention, feelings from Kiera, he’s possessive, protective, willing to do anything to help her, keep her safe. He is a perfect alpha male for his heroine. I loved Kiera’s strength, independence, will and passion to against all odds get up, don’t give up and achieve set goals. The chemistry between them two is so strong and palpable from the beginning, plus sexual tension and hot, sexy and steamy scenes will not allow you to put this book down. V.T. Do did it again - I’m lost for words to express how good this book was. It’s a must read.

ARC REVIEW:
The Knight and the Princess is the third in a series but can be read as a standalone. This is the first of V.T Do's works I have read. It was a slow start for me; I wasn't hooked until later on. Some parts were repetitive. At first, I wasn't invested in Kiera and Gage's story as much as the side characters. For some reason, I didn't enjoy Kiera's POV that much. I loved Gage. The obsession aspect put me off for a bit. The Knight and the Princess took me longer than I would usually read a book. At some point, it picked up and captured my attention, which I wanted to finish, especially with all of the plot twists that kept being thrown at you. However, I enjoyed my overall experience. After finishing The Knight and the Princess, I want to read the other two books in the series. The glimpse of the characters in this book made me want to see more of them.

There are some great things about this book and then there are some not so great things. I will start with the positive first: I really enjoyed this book's storyline. I love the characters, the relatability, how they were written, and I really enjoyed the love story. Then I got to the the 'love scenes' and that is where it just about killed it for me. To me, this book was a complete five stars until I got to the middle of the book and everything came crashing down around me.

This is honestly one of my pet peeves with authors. They have such an amazing story. The plot and characters all line up and you think wow! This book is amazing! Then they get to the sex. Now, first let me say that I am not a prude. In fact, I am far from it. I have no problem with characters getting physical in their relationships. However, let me start by saying this: I do not do ANY and I do mean ANY kind of physical abuse in my love scenes. I was great until Gage started smacking Kiera in the breasts with his hand and smacking her nipples. And again smacking her in the thigh. Then on to the fact that he has to hold her down while they have sex to keep her from moving? All that does is show a lack of care about the other person. And yes, before you ask, I did read all the way to the end where Gage tells Kiera (finally) that she can always say no. Why leave that to the very end? What kind of relationship is this? What kind of crap is this? Do I have a problem with a bit of hot sweaty pig sex where they are just rooting around and enjoying each other? No! Absolutely not, in fact, again, far from it.

The author may not see it as abuse but as someone that has survived physical abuse I do not tolerate that of any kind. I do not care how 'consensual' it appears. It shows a lack of respect and frankly it's just down right degrading. We as women grow up trying to show the younger generation of women that any kind of abuse is not love and that it is not okay and now we're writing about it in our books? How is this okay? Our women are supposed to grow up knowing that they have the power to say no. To make better choices in spouses, lovers, relationships, and all kinds of situations. Yet, here we are again showing them that so called abuse is actually a form of love. It's not.

Now, I am not a feminist by any means. I believe in a more traditional form of relationship. That being said, I also believe that when you're with someone you become partners and you have the right to say no to anything that doesn't feel right. And I have to say that just because Kiera was into it doesn't make it right. Have we lost all respect for ourselves and our bodies? No wonder women walk around still to this day with no self esteem and still getting stuck in relationships with abusive partners. No one has bothered to tell anyone that we can stand up to anyone and say no. I will not take this anymore.

Some of you might think that I am taking this a little bit to heart. And to a degree I might even agree with you. However, isn't everything in life a game of inches? How far is too far? How far is not far enough? Now, for those of you who believe I should lighten up and just enjoy the book as it is written...I hear you and I have said my peace and obviously will go on with life and onto the next book. I just felt it necessary to say something. And now I have.

This book was so perfectly written without all the extra crap in it. The romance was just where it needed to be. Why oh why did it have to be ruined? Anyway, all of this being said, I am also conscious of the fact that someone put their time and effort into it and this is why I gave it a three. I talked it over with my husband and even he thought the hitting was over the top.

If you're a sensitive person like me then no I would not recommend this book. However, if you can ignore all of that and are into raunchy sex with smacking around then this is definitely the book for you.

In a world where living the glamorous equates to money, influence and power in status. Gage Walker is at the top of the chain, whereas Kiera Hastings is at the bottom having fallen from grace because of her fathers wrong doings. But what happens when the two cross path? Considering the secrets that are being hidden.

Despite not knowing or realising this book was the third release in The Entangled Past series. I still enjoyed reading about Gage and Kiera and their relationship. From the start with when it began, all through to the budding growth that occurred throughout. It’s what reeled you in, being able to engage with the characters on a deeper level. Considering we are able to know and understand Gage and Kiera's thoughts, feelings and opinions. At the same time, it’s what led you to wanting more and continue on their journey of self discovery, growth and love. Especially with all the steamy fire V.T. Do brought to the table. Though it may have been a Slow Burn, V.T. Do didn’t skimp on the many, many Sexy Moments. Safe to say she stoked the fire, with just how wild and Hot it became and was.

The Knight and the Princess narrative was like riding a merry go round on a continuous loop. At least for a majority of the book, seeing as the unsure feelings between Gage and Kiera are not acknowledged by either but instead hidden away. Only to result in emotions whirling around the constant circular loop that Kiera and Gage had going on of will they or won’t they. Making you go crazy with having to wait in anticipation of if and when it would occur. But at the same time, that’s what made it enjoyable to me. The building of the Slow Burn suspense with the forever growing feelings and emotions luring you, only to capture you and hold you tight with not letting you go.
V.T. Do knew what she was doing in keeping you gripped on for the big explosion of when the sexual tension would finally hit its peek and explode like fireworks. Sparkling and alluring. Whilst being hot to touch.
Plus there was also the shock factor surrounding the mysteries that you're blindsided with. Having come out of nowhere, it honestly left me jaw dropped in astonishment. It’s what led to the explosions of the reveals being impactful, since it was all left field to me and took me awhile to soak it all in.

Overall, with The Knight and the Princess being my first read from new to me author V.T. Do. I can honestly say the book was a good read. And despite having not read the previous books from The Entangled Past series, yet knowing the spoilers. I will definitely be checking out The Young and the Sinner and The Lost and the Found too. And do hope Max Kade gets his own story too.

4.5 stars! You might go into this thinking it’s an enemies to lovers story, but really that’s not what it is at all. At the start of the book, Gage is actually low-key stalking Kiera, after having spotted her several weeks prior, and recognizing her as the daughter of the man he helped send to prison a couple years prior. Though he doesn’t feel guilty for that act, he’s finding himself feeling very protective of her, even if from a distance, and despite the fact that she is his enemy’s daughter. What he doesn’t know, is that he has been Kiera’s artistic muse, at least from a distance, for years now.

But, of course, circumstances and fate bring them into each other’s lives more and more, and then a break in at Kiera’s place brings out the fiercely protective side of Gage, and he insists that she move in with him until they are sure that he place was safe. Oh, and he also hires her, completely unqualified, as his assistant, because he learns that she’s low on money and it’s the only way he can think of to help her that she might agree to. So now we’ve got the forced proximity and boss thing happening. Needless to say, it doesn’t take long for things to heat up.

It’s really nice to see this relationship evolve. They’re both gun shy, cautious about what they’re feeling, and what they think the other is feeling, but the physical chemistry is definitely there, and it’s scorching. We get office trysts, and bossy, alpha dominance. We also get to see Gage shift from a jaded, lonely, and sad man, to someone who is not only loved and loves, but we see him open up his lighter side, have a little fun. Their back and forth, their banter, gets better and better as they grow more comfortable with each other, and it’s really sweet and sexy. There’s just a small layer of danger below the surface to also bring on the “hurt her and I’ll *unalive* you” in Gage, but this does feel a bit more like a plot device - not that it really bothered me, it just seemed pretty obvious.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book. A great love story, with an equally great HEA that really suits them perfectly. Sexy and sweet.

Gage didn't know why he was there, but he couldn't stay away from the bar. It was entirely his fault she was destitute. She was the daughter of the man he hated more than life. Instead of killing him he had ruined his legacy and settled for seeing him in prison for his part in Gage's sister's death.

Kiera didn't understand why the law firm would have a painting of an unknown artist in their lobby, but as she took a sip of the champagne the server had handed her, she was proud and surprised at how well her painting looked on their wall.

She came to the gala for the express purpose of seeing her painting on display, but she waited for a glimpse of Gage Walker. No one knew he was the one responsible for sending her father to prison, but she knew, but she would never reveal his secret...was sure that he didn't even realize she knew. Because prison is exactly where her where her father deserved to be. But she had to get a glimpse, because she was obsessed.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed. Kiera's fall from princess to pauper was a shock, but she was determined to survive. The hardest, or maybe the best, thing to realize was who were her true friends. I love Kiera's strength, but even within her confidence there is a very unconfident woman who wants to be loved.

Gage is the perfect gorgeous brooding man. Despite his hatred for Kiera's father he can't get over his possessive obsession. I love the tight knit relationship between Gage's best friends and law partners.

This book is action packed and grabbed my attention from page one. It is full of suspense, danger and the sexual chemistry between Kiera and Gage is off the charts smoking hot. Highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more books by VT Do!

Omg this was amazing experience!

The Knight and the Princess is my tird book by this author and I have one unforgettable experience reading her.

Keira have lost all, because of Gage and he is trying to do anything to stay away from her, but obviously he have this pull to her that can't let her alone. He is so possessive and caring toward her and when he mention how tiny she was i totally imagine her with him and I was melted.

The book give me many emotion, I laugh and cry in the same time. I was hating Gage first how he was thinking, but then I loved him in the end.

Keira this girl I adore, her strength is unbelievable strong, I love how she is trying to survive no matter what and to continue her life.
Gage and Keira are amazing couples, I love them so much and the passion between them is so hot.
I lost words how the author again make her spel and make me obsessed with her characters.
Thank you for the opportunity to receive this ARC and to read again about the previous characters. Now I'm so curious about Max and he's book to come

For over twenty years Gage Walker has carried the dark burn of vengeance within him. Even when he has destroyed the person he has loathed all these years he remains an empty shell, an unfulfilled workaholic. Until his enemy’s daughter crosses his path. He should hate her by association, but she stirs within him an awakening there’s something about her he longs to protect.

Keira Hastings once led the life of the rich & famous, that all changed when Gage Walker had her father jailed for Fraud-she should despise him for his part in her Family downfall, however the desolate sadness in this gruff beautiful man draws her.

V.T. Do is a new author to me, I had not read the two previous books in the series, however this book was easily read as a standalone.

The dance of courtship takes a while for our wary MC’s to overcome the issues of their past, but once this romance takes off it’s 🔥 and spicy 🌶 indeed the chemistry is highly flammable. I really enjoyed the euphoric headiness of the romance between these two - basking in their physical and emotional connection.

Money is power, and in this story people will go to awful and corrupt lengths to exert control. The power play simmering in the background creates increasing tension and pace, with a cascade of twists and turns towards the end to surprise the reader.

I’m intrigued now to read the first two in the Entangled Past series.

4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐3.5

The knight and the princess is the third book in the entangled past series.Gage is the reason why Kiera's dad went to jail & she was left with nothing. Kiera has had to learn hard life lessons & find her feet. Gage tries to fight his attraction for Keira but she is intrigued by the moody guy. Fate puts them together but can they keep fighting their attraction for each other

This was the perfect book after reading a long series. It was a quick & easy read, with heaps of steam 🔥. I really enjoyed Gage & Kiera's story & the twist (I didn't see it coming). I love Gage so much, he is moody & seems like a dick, but he is actually a hot alpha male who would do anything for those he loves 😍 kiera surprised me, she may seem innocent & naive but she is fiesty af. I love the bar scene, she legit becomes my hero.

Now, I would have rated this book higher, however, I felt like it was rushed. The story itself was great & I liked the characters, but I wish certain things were slowly built. I felt like certain aspects of the story lacked depth.

Overall, this book was fantastic & it made me want to do a reread of the whole series.

This was a great story. Just like like the prior books in the series I love how the story touches on so many real life issues. Kiera’s father has been sent to jail for insurance fraud, she went from a life of opulence and wealth to having nothing. However, Kiera has a talent that her family always refused to acknowledge and now it is this talent that is secretly supporting her now that her life has fallen out from under her. Gage, who is a partner in the firm that is responsible for the down fall of Kiera’s father has been keeping an eye on her. He crossed paths with her recently and she caught his eye. As much as he doesn’t know, he has been on her radar much longer that she has been on his. She has been smitten with him for some time. The question is can these two break the tough exterior that they posses? Can they work through the issues that they each have or do they have a strong enough attraction to move past that?
This is a read that you will want to see all the twists and turns and the surprise I bet you thought never saw coming.

This is my first book of the Entangled Past and my first book V.T. Do. Although this book is part of a series it can be read as a complete standalone. Keira is a lost soul trying to find where she belongs in world. She lost her family, friends, and pretty much all of her possessions. Although Keira has lost pretty much everything, I love the strength that she has and how she is determined to survive. Gage is an alpha male, lawyer who is doing pretty well for himself. He is closed off to romance but love his group of friends. There was times that I liked Gage but then there was times when I was not a fan of his. Although Gage and Keira had an "entangled past" there was no denying the chemistry between the two. I found the story to be well written and flowed well. If you are looking for a story that is captivating, flows well, that offers angst, suspense, and emotional roller coaster this is your book.

This is the first book I have read by this author. The character development is good with Kiera remaining pretty consistently independent and sassy. Gage made the greatest transformation although both had similar tragedies in their lives.

I do love a good, steamy romance and THE KNIGHT & THE PRINCESS was steamy and the romance developed in a predictable manner. I did start to skim over some of the steamy encounters because there were a lot and didn’t always move the story further.

The areas of conflict were certainly unpredictable and clever, especially those involving members of Kiera’s family. The last 25% or so was filled with surprises. Some foreshadowing of these events would have held my interest even more.

I liked the secondary characters and plan to read their stories from this series, too.

The Knight and The Princess was a decent read. The story itself was good, if a bit predictable. The h was likable, the H, not so much. Both characters spent way too much time in their own heads. Their thoughts often took pages and were repetitive throughout most of the book. I skimmed quite a bit. There were also grammatical errors. I can usually tune out a few, but there were enough to interrupt my reading enough to take me out of the story.

That being said, I do think the story was good. Keira, a wealthy heiress, lost everything 2 years ago when her father was arrested for fraud. She is barely getting by when she sees Gage again, someone she knows from her former life. The love story has a forbidden quality and the relationship between the main characters is fraught with insecurities and secrets on both sides. Without the errors, it would be a 4 star read for me!!

Gage and Kiera have unbelievable chemistry but neither should want the other. Gage put Kiera's dad in prison because he wanted revenge for his sister. Doing so caused her to lose everything and Kiera knows that Gage is the man responsible for her father being in jail and her current life situation. Gage came across Kiera the daughter of his enemy while he was plotting his revenge and she stirs up all kinds of feelings in him so he keeps watch on her but little does he know she's keeping her eye on him too. Can what should be impossible actually become a relationship when they're both keeping secrets? You need to read this book to see what happens with them.

This book starts out with me wanting to know more, more about Kiera, more about her past, birth, and family. Gage is a puzzle from the beginning. There are some many things going on. I like the visual of both characters and how they both are stalking each other. There is danger and intrigue and art. It was an emotional rollercoaster ride. One minute everything was good and then a nearly tragic event happened. I love books where my heart beats and I feel drained afterwards, and this is one of those books.

The Knight and the Princess ARC review

By V.T.DO

🌟🌟🌟🌟/5

Awwww, love this story ❤️❤️❤️ Gage and Kiera were this beautiful couple who secretly had a thing for each other for past few years but because is the events that happened at the time, they believed they didn’t belong together. Now after this time they meet again and their chemistry is too strong to resist each other.

I absolutely loved this story. The chemistry between the characters and the whole load of hot steamy sexy scenes will make you not put this book down till the end and I would absolutely highly recommend it ❤️

Gage put Keira's dad in prison. He has no business lusting after her since he took her family's name and power. Not to mention leaving her financially destitute. But he watches her and is developing an obsession.  Keira was not ready for the harsh reality of a world without money but she is strong and determined to make it on her own. These two have a sordid history that makes their chemistry that much more spicy!! Gage is possessive and dominant. Keira is small but mighty with a backbone. I absolutely loved her so much.

The sexiness was so hot in this book

I won this book as a goodreads giveaway. I thought it was a good read, but did have some grammar issues. The grammar did not distract too much from the story, it just is in need of some good editing.
Gage and Kiera have undeniable chemistry that kind of leaps off the pages at you, which is great. I loved the secondary characters and was invested in them as well. Logan, Mason and Gage have a really close bond and I love how their love interests compliment them so well. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys chick lit, romance and a touch of suspense.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.  This book is a standalone but there are 2 other books before this one.  I love the characters.  Once you start to read this book you will have a hard time to put it down.  Gage is determine to bring his deaf sisters husband to justice.  He plans to ruin him and make him spend time in jail. But he never thought of the repercussions for his daughter Kiera.  She was shamed because of what her father did.  She never met Gage personally but she doesn't blame him for what he did to her father.

Gage and Keira, a hate enough to love sizzles between them, Keira lost everything because of him, she should want to be the furthest away from Gage yet she cant deny the safety she feels when he is around. do they stand a chance? well written, suspense filled steamy hot scenes! you will love the push and pull between them!

This is the 4th book I've read written by V.T. Do; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is part of the Entangled Past Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Kiera & Gage; she grew up with everything she ever wanted until he help put her father in prison leaving her with nothing. He’s been watching out for her but finds out she’s also been watching him.

A funny sexy read from a world of money, glamour and bloodthirsty twisted people. Well, that's just something you are going to have to find out in this hot little read. Surprises, shocks and HEA!

⚡ ARC REVIEW ⚡

I started this book, and I felt like it was a slow start. And then I realized it was book 3 and the characters were in the previous books 🙈

Thankfully, I pulled through because I really did enjoy the book. The tension, and push and pull between Kiera and Gage kept me fueled!

I'm a sucker for a good ending and the happily ever after was wonderful ! 🥲🥺

I really loved to see Gage's story and I found his chemistry with Kiera amazing. I liked the twists within the story and definitely did not see some of them coming. Gage and Kiera are an amazing couple and it was great to see their relationship developed. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the other books again and I am definitely looking forward to the last book in the series.
