Love sucks.
Especially when your own brother and fellow band-mate stole the woman you were in love with.
Sitting in a Michigan recording studio with him, singing lyrics he wrote about her, is a special kind of torture.
The only thing more frustrating might be the producer’s assistant who radiates sunshine and has more motivational quotes than a greeting card company.

Jase and Cerys‘ story is everything I love about Scarlett Cole’s books, it’s well written with likable characters and it’s filled with emotions that run deep.

Jase is the lead vocalist for an up and coming band that has just been signed and is now in the US recording their first record. But to say things are hard for him would be an understatement, how would you feel if you had to sing songs that your brother wrote about the woman he was in love with....that you loved too? Well, that's the quand

LISTEN! Wanna know a secret? (lol) Scarlett Cole is ridiculously talented. I mean RI.DI.CU.LOUS.LY. She will tear your heart up from the inside out and bring your soul to its knees with the flick of a pen and then turn around and build it all back up with a passion of a thousand suns … every.single.time.

So yeah, I love her work.

The story of Jase & Cerys is heart thumping, passionate, deeply emotional with characters you will want to jump into the story to hug. A more perfect journey I could not

“The next time I really fall in love with someone for all the right reasons, it’ll be you, if you’ll let me.”

4.5 stars!

This is the second book in the Excess All Areas series, and it’s an emotional, sweet and heartfelt story of redemption, with wonderfully written family drama and a gorgeous love story.

I love rock star romance and I adored the first book in this series (One Day Like This), and I’ve been desperately waiting for this one. In the first book, Cole set up Sad Fridays lead singer, Jase

I love it when an author can take a character you don’t like and not only redeem him but have him grow so much that you actually love him, and Scarlett Cole has done just that in Next Time I Fall. This book was pure perfection to me; rock star romance, a strong and smart heroine, a bit of a forbidden romance, conflict with family but not between the couple, and filled with emotion.

Jase almost broke up the band and for sure torpedoed his relationship with his brother in the first book in this ser

Next Time I Fall is the second book in the Excess All Areas series, and although I haven't read the first in this series, I haven't had any problems understanding this story. It had been many years since I had picked up a book by this author to read, but I really enjoyed the story of Jase and Cerys.

Jase is the typical rebellious good guy and disgusted with the world that has a complicated past, but I found myself understanding his side and rooting for him. Here the book takes place in

Scarlett Cole has become go to author to me since I fell in love with the world she created in the first book of her Excess All Areas rockstar romance series. Make sure to read Matt's story, One Day Like This, to see where Sad Friday's got their start. Her characters felt real, flawed, witty and were mostly likeable...mostly, you say?? Yes, well, there was one who had such a sarcastic, confrontational attitude, I seriously wondered how he could be redeemed in his own story here in Next Time I Fa ...more

After finishing ODLT, not only was I all in for the series, I was all in to have Jase’s book be the next one because the tension between them all was giving me a dose of anxiety and I needed to have some sort of...not resolution because the issues between them all are deep...but a start of a path to clearing the air and moving forward...and lemme tell you I got that and so much more! Yes, there were still parts of this book that were painful, but Jase and Cerys were amaz

Next Time I Fall is so emotional it cannot be contained. Cole drowns the soul in a battle of broken hearts, crumbling dreams and yearning love. Jase and Cerys are a combination of false starts, missed chances and past heartache. From painful to powerful to unforgettable, Next Time I Fall has a pull that's irresistible to the heart. ...more
This is the second book in Scarlett Coles latest rock star series and focuses on Jase and Cerys. Jase is the lead singer of a rock band from Manchester England. I urge you to read One Day Like This, the first book. It didn’t work as well as other of Scarlett Coles books for me but that was more the trope than the writing and others haven’t been bothered by the trope, heroes best friends younger sister. I also would have preferred the heat burner turned down a bit and character development turned ...more

Next Time I Fall by Scarlett Cole is a rockstar romance about redemption, family and love!

If you have read the first book of this series, then you know about the bad boy of rock, Jase. He is a man angry at the world who always runs away from troubles and when he is in, he ignites. Many might have hated his character but I could see the hurt in him and Scarlett redeems him unexpectedly well.

The 2nd book in the series by Scarlett Cole and it features the really grumpy, never where he is supposed to be brother, Jase. I have to say that I couldn't see how Scarlett will redeem this guy who always seems to say the crappy thing, and yes, I was surprised!

Let me start by saying that if I had Cerys in my life I would find her mildly annoying. This woman is always frigging happy and she always can find the silver lining. When she wallowed for a scene in the book I was out of this world relie

Wow! There is a depth to Scarlett Cole’s writing that extends beyond the characters. This was an outstanding story that explored imposter syndrome and feelings of negative self-worth, not just from those who I was expecting it from, but from others as well.

Next Time I Fall is one of those books that gets to you. Your heart and emotions are tugged, broken, and have you smiling in the end. It is a beautifully written story of growth, learning to love, and family. The characters are far from perfect but are real. Jase and Cerys’s story is one I am still thinking about days later.

We get a teaser for Luke’s story, but I am unsure if it can top Jase.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Thanks Scarlett Cole for the ARC.
I really enjoyed the first book of the new Scarlett series, but I liked this one even more.
Jase is an intense character who knows how to make you feel a wide range of emotions. I loved his relationship with his brother, with this book we better understand the tensions between them. Each story has two sides, two points of view. Jase seems to be short-tempered, but he saved a whole painful part of his life to himself. It eats him up inside and he expresses himself

This is the second book in the series, and I absolutely think that you need to read them in order. The set up in book one is essential to get the whole dynamic, the problems between the brothers, the relationships across the family, the importance of Nan, and the chance that they finally get to make it big due to, really, a fluke use of one of their songs online.

‘Next time I fall’ is the second book in the ‘Excess all areas’ series and although each story in this rock star series is about a different couple, I would recommend that you start this series from the beginning. That will give you more insight into the dynamics between Matt, Jase, Luke, Alex and Ben, the guys from the band.

Cerys, the main female character is a new character but if you have read the first book, than you will already know the main man character Jase. Jase is the lead singer of

There is NO cheating in this work.

With sensitivity and hope Scarlett Cole forges on with Next Time I Fall, the second installment of her Excess All Areas series, for a great addition!

If anyone could turn someone who seemed destined for villainy and self sabotage into not just an anti-hero but a full-fledged hero it is Scarlett Cole. Coming into this work the outlook for Jase Palmer, lead singer and walking disaster, was not looking good. His previous interactions in book one of this series, One

I’ve fallen madly in love with Jase Palmer and it was not something I was expecting in all honesty. This guy sneaked up on me without any warning and stole my heart. Next Time I Fall is Jase and Cerys’ story and it has been an absolute pleasure to spend time with, and learn more about them both - although there are some moments that will definitely tug on your heartstrings.

I would highly recommend that you read One Day Like This before this book. Next Time I fall is a continuation of Sad Fridays

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Angry, volatile and acerbic, Jase isn’t great at relationships. At the end of the first book, he had fallen out with his band and his nan was the only person still talking to him. At the start of his own book, it is only his commitment to the band’s record deal that forces him to remain civil with his bandmates. Until Cerys. Cerys sees something in Jase that no one else does and she’s not afraid to tell him some necessary home

This is the second book in the Excess All Areas series. I would say it probably could be read as a standalone but you should really read book one in this series first to better understand the characters (especially Jase). I just don't think you'd get the same from this book without reading One Day Like This first.
So this is Jase and Cerys story. They go on a real journey throughout this book. Jase is a really troubled character, very angry at everything especially at Matt which is obvio

Excellent Rock Romance

If you are looking for a rock romance that will break your heart just to put it back together again this is the book for you. Jase is the lead singer of an up-and-coming band, Sad Fridays. He has been known for his tantrums and is not playing well with others but its understandable when you find out that the woman, he is in love with just happens to be his brother and band mate’s woman. Not only that but Jase has to sing the songs his brother wrote about the very same woman

Enjoyed this one too. While I think Jase seemed to switch gears rather quickly it was a cute book. He was sweet with Cerys I loved how he stood up to her dad. Along with her dad, I'm glad they delved into that relationship and that he got better as the book went by.

Overall a good story.

A British rockstar romance.

I loved this story. The characters were great and it may be because I'm biased because the lads are from Manchester which is my neck of the woods so I easily connected with them and the upbringing each one of them had had.

Jase's journey is heartwarming, he's basically a hothead, an unpredictable guy who easily flies off the handle.

This is the rockstar, forbidden love between Jason Palmer (Jase) and Cerys Hughes-Bexter 😍 he’s from Manchester, she’s from Wales and they meet in Detroit, Michigan… at her dad’s recording studio. What are the odds?
His band, Sad Fridays, has finally make it after one of their songs went viral thanks to a social media post by an influencer. Cerys is in Michigan trying to gain experience in the music industry since she wants to become a producer and given that her father is one of the biggest prod
Scarlett Cole is back with the next book for Sad Friday’s, The Next TIme I Fall and after inhaling it, I can honestly say that it was AMAZING!!! Saying I loved it, is a HUGE understatement

“She was a ray of fucking sunshine, and at that moment, he was completely blinded by her.”

The author did the unthinkable and absolutely redeemed Jase. He’s now my gold standard for redeeming an unlikable twat of a character. If you read One Day Like This, you will know how big a statement that is. But it’s one
