Only Sometimes

Rate this book

Disagreeing from the first time they meet, Noah and Niko know exactly how to push each other's buttons while they fight the intense pull between them. But when they’re forced to work together, they might realise that their connection runs deeper than frustration and lust.

Niko is driven and ambitious, even when it's misconceived as cold and measured. Her latest project is her great-grandmother's nature organisation. Niko is determined to see it thrive again and hopefully understand herself and her broken family better in the process. Getting a handle on her inconvenient feelings is a must too.

Noah has made a promise to set things right and honour his eccentric grandfather's hard work. Even when that means taking on an active role in a small nature organisation, while hiding his true identity. He is busy enough as it is with university, work, and late nights of writing. Still, he can't help but care about the organisation. Or the fierce woman who always seems to make his life harder.

Only Sometimes is a new adult frenemies to lovers romance set in Copenhagen, Denmark (with a getaway to a gorgeous Swedish forest). It's book three in the Without Filter Series, but it can be read as a complete standalone. Only Sometimes is a steamy slow-burn romance, and it contains spicier content than the previous two books in the series.

Niko and Noah! Noah and Niko. Oh my heart.

I have been intrigued with Niko since we met her in Chasing Pebbles. It was interesting to see her second handedly develop in "All the Wrong Shelves." It was MAGIC to see her truly come to life in her own book. I was just loving all of it.

I epically enjoyed that we found two characters who were equally passionate about nature and preservation even if they secretly had their own agenda.

Noah has been greiving his grandfather's loss while also being angered with other family members. He is full of emotion and is at times the perfect grumpy cinnamon roll. He is magnetically drawn to Niko, and this adds to his chaotic emotions.

Niko has a plan. She is determined. She has always been the driven one in her family. She had little other choice.

Niko helps Noah loosen the ropes of his life while Noah helps Niko learn to let go a bit.

One of my personal favorite things that Blaedel does beautifully in her writing is to solve conflict sooner rather than letting it sit. There was a looming thing in this book and I was terrified of the fallout. I think Blaedel did a GORGEOUS job of allowing the story to truly unfold in a manner that just felt realistic.

Thank you so much Felicia and her PR team for getting me an advanced copy of this story. I ADORED it!

Oh my heart!

Niko and Noah stole my heart. From the moment I started reading about these two, I fell in love with their characters. Like always Felicia has the ability to transport her readers into her books. I felt like I was hiking with them both. It was incredible. This book is a book you will easily get lost in.

What I loved most about this, enemies to lovers romance is, there was not a lot of miscommunications. Yes, there are a few secrets but there was never a moment where I wanted to shake the characters. Everything flowed perfectly and the pace was perfect. There was enough tension and mystery surrounding these characters that I couldn't put the book down. It was amazing.

This book has a dual POV and even though it is the 3rd book within the series. It can be read 100% as a standalone. If you have read the previous two books, you will be glad to know, we do see Frida, Oliver, Nessa and Zander again.

This book has definitely made it into my top 10 books of 2021! It was incredible.

A massive thank you to the author for a copy of this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Happy release day to this hopeful, magical and heartfelt romance that would make everyone fall in love over and over again!

There's something about Felicia's books that makes you get lost in all the emotion of her stories, her beautiful words and the heart of each one of her characters. Her stories are full of goodness and true love, Niko and Noah's characters plus this amazing and so well written plot that developed and matured them in such depth, did not disappoint in any way and left me craving for more.

I need to start talking about my dear Niko! What a powerful, strong, badass woman she was! I loved how passionate she was and how much she wanted to feel in touch with her grandmother's legacy and her mother's heart. Her grief, her pain and her struggles felt so real and close to my heart. I understood her trust issues, her hesitations about opening up and be vulnerable and enjoyed to see her letting Noah crack the walls little by little and her openness to see things in a different perspective. I loved her growth during the story and how Felicia showed us the same confident, determined woman from the beginning but with an open heart that was willing to love and let Noah love her as she deserved.

My sweet Noah was so swoony! He was also grieving and having all these issues with his family. He only wanted to prove himself and feel like he was worth it. I loved how warm, gentle and sweet he was in the inside while having such a grump facade. I could relate to every single one of his insecurities as an aspiring author and feeling so unsure about his work and I loved how he felt so comfortable and at ease with Niko, so much that he felt empowered and inspired by her to go and fight for his dreams. I loved how realistic his relationship with his dad was, I loved the fact that he was willing to give that a chance without leaving his boundaries aside.

I absolutely loved how their hearts found each other in the most vulnerable points of each other's lives and even though they didn't realize at the beginning, it was that plus the passion they had for the society and everything they didn't know they had in common what drawn them together. Even if they didn't agree in many things, they didn't let that stop them from exploring their friendship which built up the most perfect tension and chemistry that resulted in an amazing connection and true love and respect for each other without being invasive or trying to change each other's essence. They started off disagreeing in almost everything and ended up being each other's biggest supporters and fans.

"I can slay my own dragons. But what's courageous isn't always doing the hard thing alone. It's letting someone in ─letting them see the messy, scared you. I'm not going to fight your battles for you. And I won't suggest anyone try to fight mine. But maybe we can be each other's backup."

The attraction and desire they had was so deliciously written. They had such beautiful moments of vulnerability where they got to know one another and see how perfect they were for each other. Made the steam even sexier and hotter! I couldn't stop smiling as they grew together and fell for each other so hard and learning from each other even with all the struggle, the doubts and obstacles they had to overcome. Noah taught her how to be vulnerable and let people in and Niko taught him how to believe in himself and fight for what he wanted, how perfect is that?

I also loved to see Frida, Oliver, Zander and Nessa again (if you haven't read their stories I suggest you do because they're just as swoony) and see them all through Niko's eyes, which I'd been curious about!

This book was such a delightful read and I really hope there's a book 4 in the future because I can't get enough of this fictional world and this amazing cast of heartfelt characters!

Honored to have beta read this book in the early stages and to have re-read an early copy before the release! A million thanks to my lovely friend Felicia Blaedel for the opportunity. Keep writing with your beautiful heart, it's going to touch many lives!

Highly recommended!! 🔥 Releasing on 9th December grab a copy now!

Only sometimes is the third instalment in the #nofilter series by Felicia Blaedel. It is a new adult contemporary romance and a standalone novel. Also, an enemy to lover book which is, let's say everyone's favourite genre 😍💕

I have so much to talk about in this gorgeous book. Ever since I was approved by @netgallery for the ARC I was excited to get started with it. It intrigued me from the very first page. The scene following the first meeting of Noah and Niko was so naturally portrayed that it left me wanting more. The ever-gorgeous and confident Niko met with the introvert, shy and handsome Noah, sparks ignite between them as they work together to protect the Nikoline Ottilia Nature Society. Niko by being a part of her great grandmother's legacy and Noah to honour his eccentric grandfather's hard work. As time passes they started admiring and appreciating each other and soon realise their feelings.

Omg!! My heart ❤️ I can't help but fall in love with this book hard. Especially with the characters Niko and Noha 💙 they were so real and raw. I have never read a book like this one and I'm glad now I did and it's amazing. Noah is an introvert who is a thorough observer and an aspiring writer who feels deeply whereas Niko is a badass main lead, confident in her high heels and red lips. I relate to Noah in so many different ways and that is one of the many reasons I adore this book so much. Niko is everything that I am not and aspire to be one day. The way she handles every hurdle coming her way is commendable. She sorts her way herself in life and doesn't depend on anyone. That's what made her special and different from other male leads. She is my favourite MC 😊❤️😍. I like the friendship between Noah and Anker the way they have each other back and how they made food for each other is so cute!

Last but not least Felicia, you gem❤️ you are amazing 💕 the way you described this book is so beautiful and I love your writing style. The heartwarming romance just took my heart away and I will be cherishing this book for years to come. This was my first book from your collection and I am looking forward to more in the future!!

Oh My Heart!
Only Sometimes by Felicia Blaedel is a beautifully written frenemies to lovers story that will steal your heart.
Having both lost a close family member, Niko and Noah are both on a personal journey surrounded by loss and grief.
The journey they are on brings them together as they both engage in the same coastal preservation organization. Being apart of the organization assists them in with the grief they are experiencing. Noah uses himself to give his deceased Grandad a voice once again and have his ideas heard in among the organization, while Niko learns more about her family.

I found Niko and and Noah's journey to be real, sweet, a little angsty, and endearingly relatable. Through Blaedel's masterful writing the character's feelings could be felt as they bled from the pages, and the personal growth they both go through individually and together is realistic and truly heart touching.
The friendship between Noah and Anker was special. I adored that it was authentic as they faced friendship hurdles, supported each other, and brought a little humour to the story.
Niko and Noah are the sweetest and I absolutely devoured their story. It took me on a pull at your heart strings journey about loss, grief, friendships, love, trust, loyalty, insecurities, forgiveness and fighting for love.
Loved this easy and beautiful read.

Highly Recommend.

I loved the first two books of the Without Filter series, so I was excited to get a chance to read an ARC of Only Sometimes. This one did not disappoint, her characters are real and relatable. These books can be read alone, but the characters overlap between them. I really like the slow burn feel that each book has, getting to know the characters and how they come together.

Their individual journey through grief was handled really well, showing how it’s different for everyone and comes in waves. I found myself smiling and laughing many times with the interactions between Niko and Noah. This one is probably going to be my favorite for the series, although I will read all of them again.

**I received an arc of this book, and these are my own thoughts and opinions. **

Only Sometimes is a new adult contemporary romance where both main characters deal with grief from the loss of a close family member. It is also an "enemies" to lovers book. It is part of the series Without Filter but can be read as a stand-alone.

I read this book in one sitting, and it was nearly impossible to put down for anything. I could get up to get a cup of tea, and the book still stayed with me until I picked it up again. You were immersed in the story already a few chapters in. Blaedel's writing is easy to follow, and the descriptions make you see what she describes without it feeling repetitive.

Niko and Noah, our main characters, are both grieving the loss of a loved one. Niko her mother, and Noah his granddad with whom he lived. I couldn't really figure out the timeline of when they passed away, it was always very vague. The only thing I'm sure of is that Niko lost her mother before Noah's lost his granddad. While it's not relevant for following the plot, but it was something I picked up on while reading.

Grief isn't linear and the same for everyone, but highly individual, and there is no right or wrong. Noah and Niko deal with their grief in different ways, but there is still a lot of similarities. They are both on this journey where they are doing things to get closer to their deceased loved one. Through engaging in the same coastal preservation organization, Niko tries to understand her family better while Noah tries to make his Granddad's ideas heard.

The character development Niko and Noah go through during the book is fascinating. The progress they make is crystal clear. I loved it. And the way they are so similar yet so different is so fun to read.

As long as you are comfortable with reading sexual content, I recommend that you pick this book up and read it. It is an easy read with a fun plot and great characters.

This isn't really related to this book, but I still want to mention it because it meant a lot to me. The previous book (All The Wrong Shelves) follows Zander (Niko's brother) and Nessa. Nessa is autistic main character that I felt represented me. There is this quote from this book that relates to that and it just meant a lot to me.
"Nessa is autistic, and when Zander first told me, I was confused, but getting to know her and how her brain works has been enlightening, and I realised that what I knew of autism was based on stereotypes."

After my first encounter with Felicia in All the Wrong Shelves, I was very happy to see the next part in the Without Filter series.

This story is about Zander’s sister Nikolina, and Noah As we had already seen in All The wrong shelves, Zander’s relationship with his sister is strained. Their mother had driven Zander away because she forced him to lie to Nikolina about’ her illness. Believing that Nikolina would be too weak to handle the truth.

So, Niko line certainly has some trust issues. And therefore, she likes to keep people at a distance. So people see her as cold and heartless. while actually, she is just grieving for her mother Enter Noah, the newest member of the foundation that Niko’s great grand- mother had started to preserve the local coastline and the animals there. Noah is also grieving: for the loss of his grandfather, who was a loyal member of said foundation until he was kicked out by the chairman and replaced by Niko.

To honour his grandfather’s wishes, Noah is now ‘infiltrating’ in the foundation to make sure their priorities are kept straight. Because Noah’s grandfather had some doubts about the chairman’s spendings. And now, Noah is of course also suspicious of Niko. So, from their first encounter, there is an ano mis ity between them. But also an undercurrent of attraction. Both determined to make a different in the world, they team up to create some waves of change. When spending time together, both start to realize that there is so much more than meets the eye.

A slow burn, enemies to lovers story. Wonderful, five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I love this authors writing. She makes everything feel realistic. I fell in love with the characters and all of their flaws. The dual POV let them both shine and I loved how they both loved nature.

The intimate moments were steamier than the last two in the series and well written. I liked that while there was steam, it was not the main focus of the relationship. Both Niko and Noah have a hard time opening up and I loved seeing their growth. This is a book that can easily be read in a sitting or two.

Thank you @feliciablaedel and @GiveMeBooksPR for the gifted copy.

* ARC copy in exchange for an honest review *

Only Sometimes is the third heartwarming book in the Without Filter series by Felicia Blaedel.

It is packed with a good plot, a fun frenemies to lovers trope combined with great tension, recognizable and charismatic characters and so much more! As always Felicia tried to write an authentic book and of course she succeeded. On top of that, Only Sometimes is a fun and fast read, that is also very comforting, inspiring and wholesome.

Both charachters are recognizable which makes you really invested in their story. They are also stubborn and ambitious which is a guarantee for their awesome banter and their tension. :)

In short: I loved this book! But, in all honesty, my heart still lies with Frida and Ollie (Chasing Pebbles is my favorite book of the Without Filter series), and with Zander and Nessa. But that's just personal preference.

Read this when you want to escape the world, bring a smile to your face, laugh, lose sleep because you can't stop reading, wonder about the possible (happy) ending, ... In other words, there's no excuse not to read Only Sometimes! ;)

Niko is determined to protect her grandmother's legacy by being a part of the nature society she founded. When new board member Noah arrives on the scene, the two instantly click but not in a good way. With Noah on the board for a reason unbeknownst to Niko and the two of them finding their dislike growing into attraction, Noah knows he will eventually have to tell Niko the truth. Will it be the end of their relationship and the nature society?

I was so thrilled when I got a copy of Only Sometimes as I've loved all the previous books in this series. There's just something about Felicia Blaedel's writing that instantly draws you in. I loved getting to know both Niko and Noah and the nature storyline was incredibly unique. Although, I could see the possible tension arising with Noah's secret, I was pleased with the ending.

Another 5 star read from this series - I highly recommend you check the series out if you haven't already.

Thank you to to the author and the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

“Only Sometimes” by Felicia Blaedel is an incredibly warm and intense story of two people in search of equilibrium among the turbulent sea of life. While it has all the elements of a true love story that will please romance readers, it also offers a deep insight into its characters’ personalities.

I liked Niko so much! The author has done a fantastic job creating a character who becomes a real person while you read. I could see Nikoline with her red hair and high heels as if this tall, self-confident woman was sitting across a table from me in a café on one of the summer days. I could see the freckles she takes pain to conceal and heard her laugh, with which she masterfully masks her feelings of insecurity and her pain.

I liked Noah too. But even more, I liked the way the author managed to portray how Niko saw a man she fell in love with. Not every woman would find him charming, but Niko did, and this is what true love is about. Not everyone sees love as two halves being a part of one whole. But it’s impossible to deny that a person who loves sees the object of his love differently from everyone else. And it’s not necessarily about seeing them through the rose-coloured glasses. When you love, you see what others don’t see.

The setting of the book is beautiful. I remembered my trips to Denmark and Sweden, and I thought that so much still remains unseen in these fascinating countries.

“Only Sometimes” is the third book of the Without Filter series, but just like the author says in the blurb, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. I haven’t read the first two books, but I didn’t feel confused about the storyline. On the contrary, references to characters’ pasts gave depth to the story.

There are steamy scenes in the book; they feel organic to the story of two young people who are falling in love. And that Niko and Noah are passionate not only about each other, but also about their studies, jobs, and preserving nature adds layers to this beautifully written new adult romance.

Wow! Book 3 in this series (although each can be read as a standalone) and they just get better and better.

I love how real each character is, they are described perfectly and so easy to identify with. Reading about Noah and Anker and how they navigate their friendship was really quite moving. I loved the thoughtfulness of each friend and how they did little things to help keep the friendship strong and to show how much it means to them. When you’re reading about how important friendship is to someone, you just know that when one decides to move on to a relationship with someone it’s going to be so much stronger. Niko and Noah are perfect together and I particularly loved their slow burn. It was so lovely to see them take the time to enjoy being in each other’s company, to not act on their sexual impulses immediately but to enjoy the handholding and the tender kisses on the top of the head.
I loved their vulnerability and how they each need to look at themselves and what they wanted and had to make the decision to open their hearts to let someone in.
The knowledge on the conservation issues are superb from the author and you can tell that a lot of thought and research has gone into it, it really helped to bring the issues alive and helped me to really be invested in the storyline.
I loved every minute of this book, you can tell that each word has been carefully thought about and there is so much emotion in each one. When you have to keep taking breaks from reading just so you can digest and reflect on what you’ve read, then you know it really packs a punch. I know this book will stay with me for months to come, just like previous books in this series and I can’t wait to read what comes next.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥

Reading this book was like getting a big warm hug or sipping on your favorite warm drink on a rainy day. It is a sweet, feel-good story about two people trying to overcome grief and finding love in the most unexpected places.

Noah is trying to fix his grandfather's legacy with the nature conservation society. Without disclosing his family relations, he gets on the board to discretely push for his grandfather's ideas. Niko is trying to do the same thing with her great-grandmother's vision, and this is where the two butt heads.

These two are fantastic. Both determined to fight for their family, they are headstrong, resilient, and adorably stubborn. Despite being at odds, they eventually find support in each other, and I love that while this is overall an enemies-to-lovers, it is really enemies-to-friends-to-lovers. You travel with them as they progress through their connection, subtly getting you more and more invested.

This book is a super-slow burn, but the pacing is great that you hardly notice. Felicia gets you so engaged with Noah and Niko's individual stories and how those come together.

If you want a warm, lovely romance with a little bit of angst and whole lot of fun, Only Sometimes is a fantastic choice. It is the third book in the series, but I read it as a standalone.

Book number 3 in the Without Filter series is one I have been looking forward to ever since reading All The Wrong Shelves (seriously, that book holds my whole heart).

This is a great addition to the series, and I loved getting to know Noah and Niko better. One of my favorite things about the Without Filter series is how we`ve been introduced to the characters in the first book and gotten to follow them throughout, and seeing them get their own story feels so special.

Niko and Noah`s story is one that captured me from the beginning, as it`s right up my alley. Frenemies to lovers and a steamy slow-burn romance with even more spice than the last two books, which I personally enjoyed, and their story had me rooting for them every step of the way.

Niko was a character that took me by surprise. For me she wasn`t the typical likable character, as she`s driven and ambitious and comes off as cold and closed off, but that made her journey all the more special. Getting to know her and beginning to understand her made her feel relatable to me, and I found it easy to recognize myself in her. She`s an absolute boss, but has learned that her driven nature is less preferable than softness, yet I she settles in who she is in her story and opens up and grows, but without giving up on who she is. I ended up loving her by the end of the book, and for me she was one of the most realistic and relatable characters I`ve read in new adult books. She felt so real and her actions and reactions made so much sense to me, and I thought that was beautiful. Niko is a character that will stay with me for a long time even after finishing, and is an inspiring character I think we need more of.

I`m so invested in this series, honestly.

I'm loving this series! 😍
I've been wondering about Niko ever since her appearance in book 1 Chasing Pebbles. This book gave us a great opportunity to really understand the lady behind the hard exterior. I liked seeing her vulnerable side and I really warmed to her in this book. I loved Noah! He was fiercely loyal to his family and wants to do some good in his grandads honour. I loved the banter between Niko and Noah. They both have a hidden agenda and really know how to push each others buttons but you can feel the crackle of chemistry between them. Felicia knows how to write storys that tug at your heartstrings but leave you smiling after. She really gets you absorbed in the story with brilliant world building and fab characters. A great enemies to lovers story and a great addition to the series. Cant wait for the next one.

Another great romance by Felicia Blaedel, her writing is always so immersive and her character have so much depth to them - this third book was no different.

Both our main characters are so passionate, watching them turn from Friendemies to lovers in this steamy slow burn romance, working through their secrets and differences. I loved how they encouraged each other to embrace new parts of themselves and live their lives for them, rather than what other’s expectations of them, as well as supporting each other as they grieve.

I love how the books in this series are all standalones which not require you to have read the previous books, but you do get a few little nods back to the previous books too. Overall, this was another great 4 star book and I’m looking forward to whatever Felicia publishes next.

A touching and heartfelt story!
Niko and Noah stole my heart in this story. Two amazing people trying to right the wrongs of the past. Niko trying to keep her grandmothers society alive but having everyone against her just because of her last name. Don't judge people from what others have done in the past. Noah judged Niko off of her being related to the family of the society he became a board member of. He's trying to change things from what his grandfather told him. As these two work together they both start opening up more about themselves. Still a bit guarded which is understandable. You could feel the chemistry between them. You could feel the yearning to be with one another. And when they finally get together, talk about a hot, steamy, fan yourself explosion. WOW!! This story touched me deeply. And I have to say this is my favorite in this series. Don't ever stop believing in what you're fighting for. Stay true to yourself. Don't be afraid to lean on others for support no matter how much fight and prude you have. Together you can accomplish so much more. This is a must read!!! 📚 📚 📚 📚

Felicia is really good at writing heart warming romances and healthy relationships. This book is a great departure from all the alpha males and communication issues in most contemporary novels.

This is a cute enemies to lovers romance with both Niko and Noah being great characters with a story you want to root for and be a part of. I would definitely recommend her books to anyone looking for some nice fluffy romance that's not problematic, but still manages to have good characters and story.

I received a complimentary copy of Only Sometimes in exchange for an honest review. I tried extremely hard to get into this book, and even took into consideration that the backstory and author were American. I'm not sure I can even right a review. I finished the book, but really don't know what I read. This was hard pass for me.

This was such a great slow burn, enemies to lovers, romance read. Niko and Noah as both going through grief in their lives and figuring out how to move forward. This journey they’re on is what truly brings them together. It also helps that they’re on the same coastal preservation organization. The author does an amazing job at making you feel what the characters are going through. I felt like their journey and personal growth was realistic and it kept you wanting to read to know what would happen next.

I liked the characters in this book. I thought Niko and Noah were so cute together, and I was excited to see what would happen between them. I really enjoyed the side characters in this book as well. This book has a little of everything, love, loss, friendship, romance, and so much more. If you’re looking for a great romance series to read, I recommend checking this one out! This is the third book in the Without Filter series. It can be read as a standalone, but would be better enjoyed as part of the series.

Thank you Felicia Blaedel for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Only Sometimes follow the story of Noah and Niko as they navigate through their own grief after losing loved ones. A shared cause brings them together but they have to learn how to work in solidarity or risk losing what matters most to both of them.

This book has deep rooted and complicated family dynamics which I really enjoyed - the messier the families the more I’m invested. The romance was a slow burn but there was plenty of tension between Noah and Niko to keep the interest alive. And there was a handful of spicy scenes and they did not disappoint! I found myself really connecting with Niko and her issues with perfectionism. Her whole life she has worried about her family’s reputation and as a result, she has been holding herself back from really living.

This book just really felt like a great coming of age story, even though both Noah and Niko are in their twenties I feel like they are just truly starting to understand who they are and what they want in their lives.

“Holding a grudge would only hurt them.It wouldn’t heal me.”
If you are looking for a sweet romantic book, pick this one!
Noah and Nikko (their names together look so good)
Noah, an aspiring writer, has just lost his granddad and will do anything to complete his last wish. He meets Niko but even before understanding who she really is, he makes assumptions about her.
Niko may be rich, but that doesn’t affect her head at all. People judge her because she is RICH. She will do anything to protect her grandmother's dream. She is afraid to let in anyone in her life and affection or care from anyone makes her very uncomfortable. This is one reason why Niko and Noah’s relationship pace was slow.
I loved how they felt comfortable with each other, despite them hating each other. The liking for each other crawls slowly into them even when every part of them opens layer by layer.
Noah’s hiding something from Niko, which might put their relationship to a test.
I loved the shift between their relationship and how they got comfortable with each other. Noah fought for them and waited patiently. I loved him so much for this!

I received this arc from Bookfunnel in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book in this series that I have read and whilst it is a standalone it probably would have been beneficial if I had read the others first, if only for context.

The premise is cute and interesting and I expected that this would be a cute, fluffy read that I'd blow through and enjoy but unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. I disliked Noah from the start and found him entitled and hypocritical and whilst he does get better I just couldn't care for him at all and I didn't feel any chemistry whatsoever between him and Niko. It felt trite and forced in a lot of places and I just also felt that everyone just overreacts to everything all the time and it got tiresome fast.

It is well written and the descriptions are great but the plot and the characters just, unfortunately, weren't for me and I had to push myself to keep going with this one.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in this series and is Noah and Niko’s journey. Both characters are grieving the loss of a dear family member, and when Niko is determined to ensure that her great grandma’s nature conservation organisation project succeeds, while Noah promised his grandpa to make things right, even if it means hiding his identity while working on the nature conservation project. Noah and Niko certainly know how to push each other’s buttons, but will they become enemies / lovers? This is a well written story which if filled with family, passion, emotions, grief, miscommunications, and love, which leads to an all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
