How did you two meet?

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow.

My meet cute (well not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jeal

From USA Today bestselling author of The Highland Fling comes a brand new romantic comedy about a desperate billionaire seeking out a fake fiancée. This modern day take on Pretty Woman is brilliantly clever and hilariously page-turning. Steamy and unapologetically witty.

I became desperate.
Student loans were knocking at my door, responsibility was flooding around my feet. I needed a job. Or a rich fake fiancé. And that’s just what happened . . .

Too much of this is played for laughs. At least for me. Or are we supposed to take this seriously? Gads, I hope not. Lottie is pretty much a cartoon, with a cartoon life. In the first two chapters, she's ruthlessly fired by a "friend" to avoid a promised pay raise. And the "friend" still wants her to volunteer on their reunion committee "because of your free time." And Lottie's solution to having a crushing student loan debt and no job is to walk around a rich neighborhood hoping to run into a r ...more

Overall Opinion: This had some fun moments! It was a pretty light drama, funny, and sexy read. I just didn’t like the h. I also thought that the H had to grovel way too much for his wrongdoing — which is a change! It might be that I liked the H at that point and didn’t like the h, but it just didn’t work for me. Overall, as long as you go in just expecting some laughs and low drama sexiness…this should work for you.

Meghan Quinn's books have never failed in making me laugh my guts out. Going in if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's the comedy. Her books are so much fun. The sense of humour in her books just clicks with me every single time. I had a blast with this book. ...more

Don't let that cute cover fool you - this is SMOKIN' HOT, with sexual tension dripping from every page. I was HOOKED from the start, and I devoured it at an alarming rate, even for one of Quinn's rom coms. And this IS a rom com, albeit a very tense and steamy one. I loved the playfulness and humor of the story, the interactions with our hero's brothers, the vibrancy of the connection, the push/pull, and sizzle of chemistry. This workaholic alpha doesn't know what hit him - our heroine is bold an ...more

If you're a sucker for fake dating or fake engagement trope with forced proximity, then this book is surely for you. Meghan Quinn's latest rom-com is a light-hearted, funny, adorable and entertaining book that had me burst out laughing at some particular scenarios! It was full of romance, witty banters, desperate touches, some steamy scenes and palpable chemistry.

Ya’llll. Meghan Quinn, who I usually think of as a slow burn romance writer, didn’t come to play. This steam was amped up this one, but it still held all the things we love about a Quinn book, hilarious banter and characters and a sweet storyline.

Huxley had no business being such a dirty talker. He is grumpy and fights constantly with Lottie, but he didn’t need to be so…phew. Hot. No, he did. He really did. He also was charming, as the novel progressed, and
A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn had the perfect blend of laugh-out-loud moments and sexiness.

Real-estate mogul Huxley Cane and recently unemployed Lottie literally meet when they bump into each other on a Beverly Hills sidewalk just when they need one another most. Because both desperately need a fake partner. Huxley to salvage a business deal and Lottie to stick it to her nemesis who just fired her.

They enter into a contract where Lottie moves into his mansion, they pretend
This book! I didn’t see it coming. At all! I had so much fun with Huxley and Lottie. Fake relationship and opposites attract executed to perfection. The push and pull game between these two was off the charts. The edging was tantalizing and sexy.

The closed off and moody Huxley and the no filter and sexy spitfire Lottie was on paper too opposite but the arrangement of a fake relationship slowly changed that. The build up and how they both opened up to one another was freaking amazing. I enjoyed
I think I want to cry. I just wrote a glowing review of this book and it disappeared from my phone😫

My thoughts are all scattered now...
This book started out a wee bit slow for me, only because I’m not a big fan of the H/h sniping at each other (to mask that sexual tension). I knew that they would eventually come together, but I was just getting tired of waiting! C’mon Meghan! Don’t torture me!

Was it worth the wait? Oh yes it was! The book really took off for me in every way at that point. No one
A fake fiancé, Pretty Woman spin romcom that’s steamy and swoony

I don’t remember the last time I giggled this much while reading a fake fiancé romance. I had to cover my mouth in bed so as not to wake up my hubby from all the laughing.

Kelsey: Oh my God . . . you’re going to be murdered.
Lottie: No way. The dude is meeting me at Chipotle. He’s not going to murder me at a place where you have to pay extra for guac.

Lottie (28) gets fired by one of her supposedly close friends, Angela, and is escor
Huxley is a smart businessman, a self-made billionaire through real estate. He’s a workaholic & would do anything to succeed. But Huxley made a very big mistake. While trying to win over one of his prospective clients, he let it slip that he had a fiancée…who is pregnant. And it just so happens neither of those things are true.

That’s when Huxley runs into Lottie—literally—on the sidewalk in his neighborhood. As it just so happens, Lottie is down on her luck. She lost her job and now needs a new

I can't do this anymore. I'm dnfing it at chapter 11.

I really thought i would like it but i'm mostly bored and annoyed. Nothing is working for me. I don't like a single character. Lottie is immature, annoying and so over the top, i don't find her funny at all. A lot of her actions are stupid or make no sense. Her sister Kelsey annoyed me too, always on Huxley's side and not her sister's, which is supposed to be funny but it's not. Huxley is the typical rude rich guy who thinks the world revolve

Oh my goodness, what an amazing read this was! I had such a great time reading Lottie and Huxley's story. I read it in just one sitting even though I didn't want it to end. I absolutely loved their story! I basically devoured it. Their first meet-cute, or not so meet-cute, grabbed my attention from the get-go. I loved that moment so much. I loved their first interaction.

I’m fucking falling. I can feel it in my bones. She’s not what I was expecting. But she’s everything I fucking want.

I started reading as an ARC but couldn't finish before the release, and I picked up the audiobook, which was the best thing ever! This was EVERYTHING I needed at the moment! Lottie and Huxley need fake relationships for different reasons, and the way they come to terms with their inner turmoil was such a pleasure. There are some changes from the ebook to the narration, but that did not matter in many ways, and I LOVED the narration and thought it enhanced the story so much

Real estate billionaire meets random girl seeking wealthy arm candy to show off at her school reunion. This was kind of funny and cute in some parts and in other parts, just your usual fake engagement/pregnancy enemies-to-lovers premise that starts off as a business transaction and then… well, you know how it goes.

Writing is entertaining and easy to read. I was a little confused at first whether the hero Huxley was supposed to be a stoic stick-up-the-ass ice billionaire, or a notoriou

This was pure rom-com joy! It ticked every single box for me, and even some I didn’t know I wanted. It is classic MQ funny with a touch of angst, because you know one of them is going to stuff it up before they get their happy ending. It had a storyline that was authentic and not forced in any which way. It’s essentially about two people needing help to solve a separate situation they each have so they make a deal and sign a contract. Started off absolutely loving this book, it was hysterical but then by 30% I did a bit of a u turn……. The characters at the beginning were really likeable but a third of the way into the story, I didn’t much like either of them.

The h appeared to have a personality transplant. At the beginning she was timid and easily manipulated (by her friend/boss) and then she became a confident, take no prisoners spitfire when she met the H. Not consistent.

The meeting the sisters had where the blame

They did have a meet cute, it just went haywire afterward.

Lottie comes up with a crazy idea how to get her life back on track, prowl the streets to snag a rich husband.
Huxley put himself and company in a jam pretending to be something he is not and now needs to find a woman willing to play his pregnant fiancée.

A spin, with loads of liberties, on The Pretty Woman movie plot.

There were some genuine laugh out loud, over the top moments. The story dragged on a bit long for me with the

4.0 stars. Fun romantic comedy with a few good laughs. Huxley and Lottie's fake relationship runs the gamut, from funny banter and wiseass bickering, to strong sexual attraction and frustrating infatuation, ultimately ending in the real deal with plenty of sparks and heat. Enjoyed Huxley's brothers too. Wouldn't mind a story to expand on that interest Huxley's brother J.P. had in Lottie's sister Kelsey. (Hint, hint MQ ;D).

I'm always down for a Meghan Quinn listen. The title lead me to believe that this was going to be a sweet story. What I wasn't expecting was the sexy AF content and it was an an amazing surprise. Oh my gosh, as usual, Meghan Quinn’s latest had me rolling with laughter! Between the hilarious banter between Lottie and Huxley, to the extremely unique, (read strange) birthing classes and shopping experiences that the couple attended in this book, I quickly learned this was not the book to be reading in public.

Now in a way, it was a little different from the stories I feel I usually read by this author, Huxley was a little more domineering, a little more quiet than what I think of with her le

Meghan Quinn is a goddess, her ability to engage a reader is phenomenal. I can’t even begin to explain the outbursts of laughter this story delivered. The looks from my family said it all!

This is my favourite Meghan Quinn book ever. ISAIDIT and I regret nothing because A Not So Meet Cute had just about every scrumptious thang I love in a romance book. I'm talking deliciously teasing tension that'll have your heart pounding. A hate love relationship that has you all kinds of frustrated, furious and fascinated. And the laughs. Lord I laughed so hard I about bust a gut to many times to count.

It's the most satisfying emotional rollercoaster I've experienced in a hot a minute.
