Somehow I won this book in Goodreads Giveaway that I didn't enter. Glitch in the Matrix? Well, since they gave me the book, I figured I would give it a read. And I regret that immensely, since it was a humungous load of bullshit. Full disclosure: I'm not even single.
From calling people "born-again daters" to waffling on about how you shouldn't have opinions when decisions need to be made because the manly man wants to do that so just shut up and let him and using the gag-inducing phrase "alpha male," I'm going to come out and say it: this book fucking sucks. As a bonus, the "true stories" of the clients sound completely fictional.
Give this one a miss. You can find all the intelligent information contained within in the average dating blog in a much shorter and less cringeworthy format.

I ironically won this book right before I went on a first date after several years, and found myself disappointed (with the book). This book gave good advice, if you fit in the small demographic it felt aimed towards. I felt like you needed to be a successful, submissive woman, ready to cater to the man to make him comfortable the entire time. This advice is very narrow minded in my opinion and I didn’t follow these rules, but my date still worked out great. Would not suggest.

Cute stories and illustrations, but...

This was a Goodreads win. I was disappointed with the book partly because I didn't really learn anything new, and also the total lack of addressing the dating landscape in relation to Covid-19. This was written and published during the pandemic because there was one sentence, I believe, which mentioned it. The book left me wanting a matchmaker. I wish I could recommend it, but really can't.

I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. It was well written and flowed nicely. It was basic at times (well, most of the time) and sorta judgementally at times. There were good pointers peppered throughout. Perhaps this will be a great guide for someone wanting to devour everything they can about dating.

I found this book ok but I’m not sure that I was it’s prime audience. Probably more suited to a divorcee or somebody at least forty plus. For me a lot of the information was just common sense and it read a little too much like a magazine article.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent Advice

I recommend this book to every woman who is thinking about entering the dating pool. As a divorcee, I am not considering dating. This book gave me a lot to think about should I go there.

I really enjoyed the short stories but mostly the advise. What a great way to start dating again. I love the feel good way to approach dating and the reminder to continue giving it a try and not to give up. I definitely recommend to those that are ready to date again.

Not really anything new but perhaps a good refresher for anyone considering reentering the dating scene. Easy, quick to read. Thank you to Goodreads for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Good dating guide

This book offers a lot of suggestions on how to get yourself ready to date. It also gives many dos and donts for when you are on dates.
