Finding out you’re in love with three impossible boys isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
The stepbrother. The boyfriend’s best friend. The sister’s ex.
Life would be complicated enough if we didn’t have to navigate a social circle populated with serial killers.

My father has gathered a loyal group of monsters around himself like a shield.
There’s the black widow, the arsonist, the mild-mannered poet with a penchant for blood, the crooked cop, and, of course, the Seattle Slayer.
Maintaining three new romances is nearly as dangerous a proposition.

Oh, and my biological mother? She knows about the boys, but not the killers.
My original kidnapper—the woman I thought was my mom—she knows about the killers and not the boys.
Some days, it feels like the entire world is a web of secrets and deceit—much of it spun by yours truly.

The girl I once knew as Dakota Banks is fading like a distant star.
The question is: how far will I let my father push me?

He might have an app that records and watches everything; he might have a plan of righteous revenge. But there are two things the Seattle Slayer doesn’t understand: love and loyalty. He thought he could drive us apart when all he did was push us closer together.
And together, we are stronger.

This is the endgame, Dad.
Let’s finish this.

ENDGAME ROMANCE is a 300,000 word love-hate/high school romance with suspense/thriller themes. Includes foul language and sexual scenes; any sex featured is consensual. This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book three of three in the series.

C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.

She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.

Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

Well, well. Endgame Romance is the third installment within the Lost Daughter of a Serial Killer series. I honestly thought this was going to be a trilogy but with that ending, yeah, nope, it's not that last book. I sadly have to wait for another book to come out and I'm not sure how to handle that.

Now this book was super freaking long. For most of this, it felt like nothing was really happening even though we got so much information. I'm still not ever sure who I can or can't trust. Seriously, every person is being so freaking suspicious. My head hurts whenever I try to sit and think things through.

Other than that, the romance is sort of heating up. Slowly but surely. The only thing rubbing me the wrong way is all the freaking "daddy" and "princess" references. One, it's gross for a teenager to call their dad, daddy. Then for him to call her princess and basically have her dress up as one all the time is beyond annoying.

In the end, I'm not sure how my head or heart will digest what happened towards the end. We have so many games and plays being made that I'm not sure what is true and what isn't. Ugh. My head hurts so much. Hopefully the next book gives me all the answers.

This was slow and lagging for no apparent reason. It seems like Stunich had trouble coming up with an interesting plot, so she added more and more insanity to Justin (our serial killer dad) and his demands. The story was dragging so much, that I actually stopped reading it at one point and left it for over a month. I had to make myself continue reading.

The book ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, and I’m sure C.M. Stunich intended it to be a heartbreaking one, but honestly, it was so unbelievable and with a predictable background that it didn’t even touch me.

1.5 stars and the half point is just for the smut.

One more thing, I always hated when people commented on the author's personal views or statements than the actual book in their reviews, but for the first time in my life, I’m going to do just that. After all, she did write this at the end of her book as the author's note. C.M. Stunich had the audacity to compare this series to Tolkien’s LOTR! Really??? She did compare it in length (number of words), but still, the nerve! There is that thing called quality over quantity and oh my God you are not even in the same Universe let alone the league to even try to compare yourself or your novels to such a legend as Tolkien! Shameful!

“Do you want to bore your readers to death?”

Like books 1 and 2, book 3 followed the same frustrating slow pace and lack of plot development. (And don’t think this is the last book. It will be dragged on to a 4th book, apparently.) Dakota still doesn’t show much gumption in really beating her father, but she does mention that she wants to beat him plenty. There is the same weird forced hatred towards millennials (ouch), which doesn’t make much sense. The reverse harem was better in this one, but still weirdly forced and unnatural. This series had so much potential for the serial killer aspects and for a reverse harem, but so far, it has fallen short on both. And WTF is up with that ending?! I hated every minute of it and nothing the author does on the next book will explain it well enough for me. Overall, this book was 50% sex, 20% Dakota saying how bad things were and how she “planned” to do something, 17% weird inner monologue “writing” from Dakota, 10% hiking, and 3% “serial killer dad/daughter”. Not sure if I care enough to read another 600+ page book about it.

I'm not waiting for the 4th and I think I may be done with the author. She starts off strong, then strings us along making us wait and wait and wait for the next book. I wouldn't mind as much if the book was stellar but it's mediocre at best. I read a lot and rarely leave reviews unless I feel strongly about the book. I strongly feel that the author should stick to duos or trilogies, especially since she has trouble keeping to deadlines.

Omg! I can’t believe the way this book just finished! The ending completely caught me off guard, and I’m left in suspense! This series is incredibly addicting and has me thoroughly engrossed from start to finish. I’m absolutely hooked and can't wait to get my hands on the next installment. C.M. Stunich never disappoints! Her storytelling is nothing short of mesmerizing. She has truly become one of my favorite authors, and I can't recommend her work highly enough!

Probably the last book I'll read by this author

I generally like this author, even with the repetitiveness that seems to plague all of her books, but this one might be the last straw. First, this book was so long for no reason. Secondly, what's up with the weird, incessant millennial hate? Third, I literally skipped the middle half of the book just for the main character to essentially still have the same internal monologue. And finally, the ending was so forced and unbelievable. No thank you, I'm done.

Grrr. That ending better be a lie, completely made up or something. I am pissed bc "he" is my favorite out of the three boys.

Also, I weirdly like Justin Prior. I wish there was a novella about him and Tess in their younger years. I'm probably the only one that feels that way though...

Boring

I think C.M has lost the plot. This was so incredibly boring 😴 Just a filler book because she hasn't worked out where the story is going or she's just bored and can't be bothered with actually moving the plot along. This really should have been the last book. I honestly can't be bothered waiting for or reading the next one. Truth be told I don't think I will follow this author any more.

I’m at a compete loss after reading that ending. I’m shocked, I feel betrayed, there is no way that just happened. Dakota once again is living her worst nightmare, between the lies, betrayal, Dakota doesn’t know who she can trust. There is one thing that must be done and that’s revenge. I absolutely love this series and I absolutely love the banter between Kota, Parrish, Chasm and even Maxx. I need the next book ASAP. This series and characters will be with me forever. Truly an amazing read read that I could or wouldn’t put down.

Okaay that ending just put me in a twist, i feel like someone stabbed me with a knife and twisted it... Tbh i aint that worried cuz i have seen these cliffhangers before but i can´t help but worry and feel bad. I mean Maxx get yooo shit together, i am also having my eyes on Parrish and Chasm they are up to something (and Maxx as well) i mean Chasm and Maxx disappeared together and they never told what they did .... whaaaat is going on i need to knowww aghhh and Justin that cuck sucker
Everything is out of (my) control, when i thought this was suppose to be the last book another one is coming. I do like that we get one more cuz i like this series and i assume it´s gonna be with Maxx and DaKota on the cover. But at the same time this worry could have been spared if this was the last book.
I love the cover with Chasm and DaKota

AMAZING

It's up to me to set them free. If I have to be a princess, I'll be the warrior princess who rides into battle atop a steed, sword raised, a bow and arrow strapped to her back

This cliffhanger. OMG. It's wrecked me. I have no idea who to believe, what to believe. This is utter madness. I can't think that was all for show, was it? The ending of this book just solidified that Justins reach can get to anyone, even if they were hers. Even if she thought she had their 100% loyalty. Ahhhhhhhh. I can't stop thinking about that ending.

This book takes off right where book two ended. Dakota is exhausted and ready for Justin to come to an end. She is finally making strides with Tess but still has to act like nothing matters due to Justins control. Max, Parrish and Chasm are her only source to be grounded and temporary forget that her entire world isn't shattering around her.

Justin has set in motion all of his moves. All of the players are on the board. When the Queen is ready to strike with her pawns, what is the King to do? The chess references were amazing and driving me crazy because I couldn't tell who was controlling who. When Dakota fights back it seems like she's finally on an equal playing field only to be five steps behind compared to dear old Dad.

With literally everyone being used against her, she realizes that things need to end sooner than later. She won't be able to keep this all up. And the Seattle Slayer is not just one person, but multiple...!! ...I still can't get over this ending. I loved him so much for her and now, I'm just at a loss. Can we even trust the other guys? What are Maxines thoughts? Can we trust Delphine?

This book was so good! Pretty sure it is my favorite in the series so far. AMAZING. The storyline, the twists and turns. The romance. These are 16/17/18-year olds and act as such when it comes to romance. I love that the author didn't just automatically make everyone an expert. It just added to how much I love this author's writing. I can't wait for book 4!

Love is beyond explanation

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 4/5
*Fast Burn
*First person POV (Dakota only)
*So many twists and turns
*Ends on brutal cliffhanger

Okkkkkay

So I really only have 2 complaints,
1. I(and everyone else i guess) waited over 6 months for this book to FINALLY be released and there are so many typos and grammer errors and believe me I'm not a grammer nazi in the least bit... this comment making it obvious 🙄
2. This was suppose to be the final book... yes I'm glad the story isn't over yet BUT do we really have to wait until September?!?!?!?!?!?!

OK so onto the things that I love about this series...
1. I love the emotional pulls.
2. As much as it's killing me spiritually, I'm glad that the story isn't being rushed. I've been in a book slump/depression these past 6 months because so many books feel rushed or to similar in storylines.... it took me a week to make myself read/finish a 250 page book.. I read this 650 page book in 2 days.
3. I feel like emotionally Dakota is relatable, wanting to do the right thing but also having to pick the lesser evil even when it's soul crushing.

The last category... Things that are both pros and cons.
1. Repetitive! Pro.. I can be forgetful so it's nice to get flashbacks/reminders... I mean I've read the first 2 books 2-3 times so I didn't need the reminders so much but you catch my drift. Cons... I just want to know how it freakin ends dangit!!!
2. The angry feminist seems to be a common theme in all of C.M Stunich's book.. alot of valid points are made but it's also redundant.

OK I think that is all for now, I don't believe in spoiler alerts.. someone else can do that lol. Also I know I suck at Grammer myself but I'm a reader not a writer and I don't have an editor 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also I know that I said BUT way to many times and I do apologize... sorry not sorry.

"If I were Tess, and I were writing this book, I’d probably describe it as … No, no, I wouldn’t describe it because I would never be such a miserable crab of a writer who’d put her character through such stressful experiences. Fictional people have feelings, too, you know. Sobs uncontrollably."

Damn it C.M. Stunich how dare you break my heart 💔 I literally just finished Endgame Romance and my mind is reeling. End game Romance was planned to be the final book in the Lost Daughter of a Serial Killer series, but when Stunich wrote over 400,000 words she decided to cut this one at 200,000. I'm so glad that she did this to make sure that these characters get the proper ending. There's nothing I hate more then a condensed version, especially when you become so invested in the characters and story.

I don't want to talk too much about the plot and any of my theories because that just ruins the mystery in these books. But I do want to say how much I love the characters and their dynamic 🖤 Kota and how she is with each guy separately, together and even the guys dynamics between each other just.. *chefs kiss*.

"The preppy rich prince of sloths with the warm heart, the dark knight rockstar valedictorian, and the fiercely protective bunny-saving athlete."

And Justin. This evil mother fucker... I can't even say anything without spoilers. I'm just so looking forward to hopefully Kota killing the bastard.

"She was a liar, that girl, that Dakota Banks. She swore she’d rather kill herself than harm another. But that wasn’t true at all, was it? Like father, like daughter. The lost spawn of a serial killer indeed."

Well now that I'm devastated, I need to go find a support group for those who have finished Endgame Romance😭

"I’m trapped in a cage with invisible but very strong bars. Each one of them is the life of a person I love and care about, and I don’t know how else to escape except to bleed the one who put me there."

😑

I usually love Stunich’s work, but this series, for all the promise it had, has just fallen flat for me. So much internal dialogue, disdain & hypocrisy abound, but most of all, nothing is really happening! I mean people are dying, sure, but for all the talk and rambling on Dakota does about doing something about her father, getting back at him, and turning the tables….she does nothing. Other than get a little snarky. This book was a lot of fluff and unnecessary internal monologue mixed with flowery prose - really the first 70-75%. It took me a few weeks to even force myself through that much. But that last 20-25% where we finally saw some real action and twists was good.

In Shock

Don’t mind me just nursing my massive book hangover right now and sobbing my eyes out. This book, this book right here had me reeling. I love the men even more, I love Dakota even more, and shockingly enough I love Tess now???

She was terrible last book but now???? Wow a mother’s love is really something and CM does a really good job portraying that and embodying it in Tess’s characters. She’s flawed of course but you really get to understand her this book and learn what makes her tic.

And her interactions with Kota: Heart-melting? Heart-warming? I essentially need to call my mom right now and thank her for all she’s done for me. Also Parrish, Chasm, …Maxx (maybe on that last one) they were absolutely perfect and it’s sooo sweet and cute how they see Kota as their world. I’m on an obsessed with the fmc romance kick and CM does not disappoint. I love these characters so much!!! This book hit me right in the feels. Also the steam, dayummm the steam you won’t be disappointed with it. But gosh that cliff hanger has to be one of the most painful ones I’ve ever read. I need the next book now.

Not as good as the first two books

There was some long drawn out prose in the book. Whew. Nothing really happened. There was next to no action, unlike the first two books. And I really didn't need to read about Tess having her children kidnapped every three pages. I know that already, that's why I'm reading this book. This is the first C.M. book I haven't loved. I'm sorry.

I'm usually a huge fan of this author so I purchased books 1 to 3 as a treat. I couldn't finish them. They did not hold my attention at all and I was so frustrated because this authors books grab me and pull me in at the get go.

Not a review, per say, but I couldn’t help my curiosity when the setting of this book is in the same-ish city as some of my colleagues & boss. I was affirmed that the neighborhood Dakota & bio parents live in is not even the top 1%… it’s the top 0.05% or less. Blew my mind of my boss’ description of the area, let alone specific neighborhood(s) and the head-up-their-ass type of prestige it comes with. Ick!

That said, I did find it hilarious that the narrator had mispronounced the city/area/neighborhood improperly the ENTIRETY of the SERIES!! 😂🤣 I’m surprised someone let that slide! I’m glad I didn’t know about that until my last 2 hours of listening to this book, specifically because it’s a glaring mistake… but then again, I don’t have much familiarity with the state of Washington, let alone the nuances of the area.

I’m easily amused… couldn’t help but laugh.

That said, I tend to listen to audiobooks 90% of the time, but I found out last night that my e-reader has taken a dump and even if I wanted to do the text to voice thing with kindle, it’s not a feature on my phone’s app.

I also noticed that between book 3 and 4 had a MASSIVE turn-around timeline… given book 3’s audiobook released 12/3/23, and between 3 & 4’s release was over a year… would one assume it’d take a year to release the audiobook?!

I certainly hope not! But I do have some extra free time to properly read around the holidays, so I can get my “fix” that way if need be… but I find the audiobook experience so immersive and it’d be hard to not finish the series the same way.

First world problems. lol!

As I reached the final pages of this book, a sense of disbelief washed over me. It was as if I had been betrayed along with the main character, Dakota, who once again found herself trapped in her worst nightmare - surrounded by deceit and uncertainty.

“Care about me?” he asks, voice edgy. “I’m falling in love with you, Kota.”

The weight of her pain and anger was palpable as she grappled with the decision ahead: seek revenge. Throughout this series, I have fallen in love with the complex relationships between Dakota, Parrish, Chasm, and even Maxx. Their witty banter brings moments of lightness to an otherwise dark plot.

The preppy rich prince of sloths with the warm heart, the dark knight rockstar valedictorian, and the fiercely protective bunny-saving athlete.

Every word has captured my heart. This story and its characters will stay with me forever, a testament to the incredible talent of the author. I couldn't tear myself away from this gripping read for anything.

“You’ll always have a place to call home with me,” X whispers, and then he exhales against the side of my throat. “When I want something, I really am willing to do whatever it takes—especially for the right girl.”

I love CM Stunich, but this series is just not as good as all her other books that I've read.
I feel like she had a great idea, but when it came time to write it she lost her muse.
Book 3 is no different from the first two, it has a super slow pace with a lot of repetitiveness.

I've been listening to this series on Audible while working, so I wasn't focused on just reading the book, if so there's a chance I'd have quit the series by now! I will say, with the cliff hanger ending we were left with in this book I'll definitely be reading the next book... but I'll most likely be waiting a few months for it's release on audible instead of downloading and reading it.

Oh how high my hopes were for this one.

I am coming around to love some of the characters but mostly just Chasm. I think something sus is going on with all his night classes and studying but he's the right pick for Kota all in all. Parrish and his character are a little unbelievable for a seventeen year old. We do love a step brother romance but I feel like that all played out in book one and two. Don't get me started on Maxx... I was never really a fan of him, mostly I was just interested to see this "dominant" side come out which it never did...and after those last three pages of the book I think I'd like to see horrible things happen to him. Unless his betrayal is a misunderstanding, I can't approve of him getting redeemed.
I think it's super funny (ironic) that in this book, the fmc is writing a book and the editor comments on too much internal dialogue boring her readers... HELLO DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF. This book was exactly that... Wayyyyy too much internal dialogue. Super boring at point and I found myself skimming entire chapters yawning.

Will I read book four?... Maybe ... But only cause I'm wondering what the hell Maxx is really up to.
Right now I'm team: replaced Maxx with Lumen
