The first kiss crumbles her world. The second mystifies. The third unbalances. The fourth sends her reeling. And the fifth –ah, the fifth . . .

Inspired by Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, Miss Sarah Meacham has always behaved circumspectly, until an emotional outburst directed at a well-deserved gentleman earns her the nickname of Miss Shrew. As a result, she vows to nev

I ADORE this book. Absolutely adore it. I want to read it again right now.

The book is literally broken up into five sections- Kiss One, Kiss Two right up to Kiss Five and then. . . BONUS KISS. 😍 Yeah, I love that. I also love both Sarah and Ian. How could I not love them? Honestly. I'm pretty sure I just loved everything about this book, including the cover. It hit my sweet spot and it all made me so happy. This was a fantastic day of reading. Yes, I finished it in one day. I just couldn't help

I loved Sarah and Ian's characters. Neither of them fit society's norm, but that's what I love about them. Ian's wooing skills are amazing. I loved the unconventional routes he took. The characters were part of the aristocracy, but they were so down to earth. I really enjoyed that about them. I loved the scene where Sarah earns her nickname. I cheered her on and probably said you go girl in my head. I understand why she doesn't trust men and loved how Ian broke through that distrust. This was a ...more

Rachael Anderson’s books are some of my favorites. I love the way she writes. Her characters are so great. And her plots. Her kissing scenes are great too!

I loved this book! Sarah is my favorite thing about this book. I loved the scene at the beginning where she earns her nickname, Miss Shrew. It may not have been deserved, but that scene made me laugh quite a lot. That scene also earned her a dear friend.

Ian is a great guy. He isn’t a gentleman. A fact he kind of dances around with Sarah. But h

Loved it! Reminded me of “10 Things I Hate About You”, one of my favorite movies.

I loved Five Kisses, a retelling of Taming of the Shrew, by Rachel Anderson. Five Kisses tells the story of the Taming of the Shrew in a regency setting. I love the scenes that shared "Miss Shrew's" background and development of her character. The scenes of the story really come alive with memorable events and actions from the characters. The characters in the story are well-rounded and interesting. The story was a fun read, relaxing, and had some very clever parts. It was a fun read that I woul ...more

I loved this story! I was excited to read it as soon as I saw the announcement that Rachael Anderson was releasing a new book, and it did not disappoint.

I was quickly drawn into the story, and I didn't want to put the book down. After the first section, I realized that the five kisses weren't necessarily going to be what I had expected, but that just made the book even better. And the epilogue was the cherry on top.

I laughed out loud multiple times while reading.

This story had great characters

I was slightly dubious of this book because of the title but once I started reading it my worries were laid to rest. Yes there were 5 kisses - lovely kisses, scandalous kisses and funny ones too - but all in keeping with a sweet regency book. I quite liked that this book doesn’t take place at the top tier of society but more the middle, which I found refreshing and personally more relatable. The story was entertaining, as times I was so frustrated with the characters and other times I really sym ...more

This book was FANTASTIC!! I read it all in one day and I was sad when it came to an end.
The characters were so relatable and the conflicts were believable.
I absolutely loved Ian’s Scottish brogue and Sarah…. She was so much fun!
There were a few parts that had me laughing out loud. This is a book I would recommend to all of my friends. It was really a great book!

Some books, I can’t wait for them to be over and others are so enjoyable and witty and engaging that I never want them to end. This book was one of those in the latter category. Sarah is a strong female protagonist who meets her equal in the “not gentleman” Ian Collum. Delightful at all turns, I read this book with a smile on my face and with spontaneous eruptions of laughter at all the witty and humorous moments.
Another favorite!

I already knew I'd love it before I started. I can add this book to the other favorites from Rachael Anderson. I hope this becomes a series.

Oh I definitely enjoyed my escape from reality. What a fun remake of the Taming of the Shrew.

One of my favorite things about Rachael’s books are the characters she creates. They’re relatable, feel real and it’s enjoyable to watch their development. Rachael’s ability to create entertaining banter between her characters always makes me chuckle.

This is a book you want to read!

This book was a fun read and allowed me to escape reality for awhile. I loved the retelling of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. I fell in love with Ian the first moment in the library with the way that he teased and charmed Sarah. I also appreciated that it didn't take long for a courtship to start and there wasn't as much of a fight with it because Sarah and Ian together was just so entertaining. They were direct in the way they communicated which I appreciated in a regency romance. I only wi ...more

A standout book! I am so impressed by the creative writing and the extraordinarily witty and hilarious conversations in this story. I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. It captured my interest from the first chapter; I cheered as Sarah at last delivered what so many cads in other books deserve but are never dished. I was grateful for the deviation from the "shunning by the ton" scenario (Prinny was finally a useful character!). The situations Sarah and Ian find themselves in ar ...more

FIrst of all, I have to say that the title of this book, Five Kisses, is absolutely brilliant! Immediately, a series of questions form -- With whom? The same suitor, or someone different each time? Does the best kiss win the heart of the heroine, or rather do the kisses build in intensity? Or is it the location, the timing, or being taken by surprise? How will the title drive and shape the story? The intrigue is irresistible, and Ms. Anderson does not disappoint. The main female character, Sarah ...more

Great regency story

I really like the creative and clever ways the hero used to get past the heroines defenses. Those scenes were light and witty, the epitome of a proper regency tale, imo; my favorite parts of the book. A sweet story. Also I thought the epilogue was very well played. Definitely give this one a read!

I have read several of this authors books and have enjoyed each one. This one was especially wonderfully written. It is similar to taming of the shrew. The characters are relatable and endearing. This is a book I can see myself reading several more times.
