Another fabulous visit to Kissing Creek, I do love this small town and we get to know Ryan MLB pitcher and Sloane the beautiful caring and feisty librarian, both of them have their futures mapped out but their first meeting might have changed that for them or will it?

Sloane has finally found the place she wants to be, she loves this town, her house and her job as librarian, the only thing she is missing is friends she is very popular but her life growing up was moving around a lot and making friends was not always easy, she runs the book club at the library and this is one of her favourite things to do, the book they are reading this month is a steamy erotic romance and this brings Ryan into the library.

Ryan is home to rest up his injured knee he does love to visit his family but when his parents are up to things he doesn’t want to know about because of the book club, he is going to meet this new librarian and get to the bottom of it, only when he meets the feisty Sloane she puts him in his place.

This is a fun and fabulous story filled with lots of feeling and emotion I loved seeing Ryan and Sloane fall so madly in love even if they both agreed they probably were incompatible because of their plans for the future, but when cupid shoots those arrows there is nothing that can be done except to keep smiling and enjoy that love. Stefanie London really knows how to write a wonderful story with fabulous characters that become friends, this is one that I would highly recommend it is sensual, moving and fabulous and I do hope that one day we re-visit Kissing Creek.

My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my copy to read and review

"Sloane had always made herself memorable with her clothes and her bubbly personality and her quirkiness. But he mentioned the other, truer things that were below the surface. Which meant he’d been looking closely."

This book was very entertaining! Lighthearted, with full of laughter and some very amazing side characters residing in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I loved Ryan & Sloane together. Their banters never failed to make me smile! Sloane was so easy to like and relate with. She was such a sweet young lady hoping to find a family amongst the people in town, trying to fit in but miserably failing. I felt really bad for her when people always cancelled on spending time with her but luckily, Ryan was the one person she could rely upon. He even introduced her to one of his friends and was there for her whenever she needed his help. Their chemistry was adorable and I loved their friends to lovers story! Though him & Sloane started off a friends, they can't deny the irresistible chemistry but Ryan is here only until the next season starts, what happens when he has to go back? Will he leave or will his relationship with Solane finally make him realise what he's been missing? You have to read it to find out!

"Did you set this whole game up just to get me to kiss you? Because I don't need vodka and games to convince me, Sloane."
"Then what do you need?"
"Absolutely nothing at all. Wanting you is inevitable."

I loved this!! It was so wholesome and beautiful!!! A firey, sexy librarian and a cocky baseball player who read smut AND recreate scenes from their books?? WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?? No joke though this was so good and also the way they both managed to bring more to each other's lives and make it more full and wholesome WAS SO FREAKIN AMAZING. This is one of those romances that has the perfect amount of reality to it. It was a beautiful story of love and sacrifice and compromise. I absolutely hate the town name though. KISSING CREEK?? WTF IS THAT NO THANK YOU.
The mental health representation in this is superb though, especially showing how you can be so blinded by your childhood or the goals that you can't ever move on even when you find someone you love. I love how realistic it was in that just because you've found love doesn't mean it solves every single problem you have. They still struggled to even maintain their relationship but in the end, they came to a compromise and it was EVERYTHING.

This man is SO FUCKING HOT. Seriously, where do I find one?! I really loved this book and this couple - Sloane talking about how she feels like she doesn't fit in really hit home (honestly she read as autistic to me?), especially when she spoke about her 'friends'. The ending was a liiiittle bit cheesier than I prefer (and y'all know I love cheese), but the rest of the book was so good I'll let it pass. Honestly I just really love small town romances and this series is up there for me, it's so cute and loveable and just feels so warm.

But I'm taking off points because she wore galaxy leggings. Girl, please.

I’ve read several books by Stefanie London (I particularly liked the ones she wrote for the now defunct Harlequin DARE line), including Kissing Lessons, the introduction to her Kissing Creek small town romance series. Kissing Games, the second entry, has a fairly typical plot – an injured baseball star who is nursing himself back to health in his hometown meets a woman who makes him rethink his future. But there’s enough here to differentiate it from other books with a similar storyline, leaving a memorable and fun impression.

Ryan Bower is a major league pitcher with several major league problems. An injured knee, a contract about to expire, the realization that at thirty five his playing days are numbered, and discovering upon convalescing at home, that his parents are acting like newlyweds. The blame for the latter appears to be the library book Stormy Pleasures he finds on the coffee table, with a sticky note attached, announcing it to be the current choice of the library book club run by Sloane Rickman.

Sloane is living the dream – well, her dream. A friendly small town, a house all her own with a vegetable garden, a coffee shop where people know what her usual drink is, and a job she loves as the town librarian. When Ryan enters her library to complain about how the book club’s choice is giving him sleepless nights, she stands her ground. No one says bad things about book club, and he can take his antiquated views on sex and put them where the sun don’t shine.

Confused, (he likes sex just fine thank you very much!), and having struck up a weirdly antagonistic relationship with the adorably cute librarian with a penchant for dinosaur-themed clothing, Ryan finds himself picking up and reading the book out of curiosity (since everyone he encounters seems to have thoughts on Chapter 21). He also has to take his dad’s place on the Halloween parade committee when his father injures his back (don’t ask), which is headed by none other than Sloane (of course). Forced to work together, Ryan and Sloane come to a truce and discover they kind of like being in each other’s company. But Ryan’s plans don’t include staying put for a minute longer than his recovery requires, and Sloane has finally put down roots meant to stay. Can they find their way to a happy future together?

I love romance books that use their storylines to prop up the genre so I think the author (who is’ incidentally. also a librarian) picks a fun way to do that by having many of the older women in town – including Ryan’s mother – be enthralled by a steamy romance. Ryan and Sloane’s first meeting has plenty of witty banter that continues through most of the story (including via text), that made me laugh out loud several times.

Ryan turns out to be quite a sweetheart despite the initial impression he gives. When Sloane shares with him that she’s had trouble making friends of her own age since she moved to town three years earlier, Ryan introduces her to an old friend recently returned to town who is still trying to find her feet and who could use a friend herself. When Sloane shares with him the challenging relationship she has with her father, he’s on her side. In return though, Sloane comforts Ryan as his team makes the playoffs without him, and she provides a sounding board as he talks about his injury and his professional future. And it isn’t long before they end up in bed together in some steamy scenes even if they are both convinced that it’s going to be a fling with an expiration date.

Sloane’s baggage includes her parents’ divorce, which she believes was a result of her mother’s career – which took her around the world while father and daughter uprooted themselves to follow her. It meant she never stayed long enough in one place to make friends, and has given her the impression that following someone for their career is bound to end in failure. As for Ryan, he’s sacrificed a lot for his baseball career, and his chances to reach the pinnacle – and the World Series – are fading with every year. Given the choice between a relationship and baseball, he’s always picked the sport. The obstacles facing their HEA are obvious, but the author does a splendid job of creating the compromise that results in a very satisfying ending. Overall Kissing Games is a lighthearted, low angst, sexy, and funny romance which I’m happy to recommend.

4.5 ⭐️!

When the golden boy of Kissing Creek returns home to sulk after a baseball career-pausing injury, he runs into quirky librarian Sloane. There is no questioning that she and Ryan have palpable chemistry right off the bat (see what I did there) as he confronts her about her book club’s choice of dirty books. They grow closer as they’re paired together to decorate the town’s floats for the Halloween parade, but he is fully committed to returning to his baseball career, while she is ready to set down roots with someone who won’t put her second.

Kissing Games is a not quite friends to lovers romantic comedy but with unexpected depth. The banter, the wit, the sex positivity and the raw communication were incredibly refreshing. This book has the perfect amount of spice, and the characters were so easy to connect with. I adored this!

I loved this fun small town, sport romance! A baseball player and dinosaur-enthusiast are unexpectedly thrown together thanks to a spicy romance pick for a library book club. The banter that follows is great and the steamy scenes were IT! I need more sports romances after this one because it was great!

If you'd asked Ryan Bower, professional baseball player, what's worst than an injury that put your career on the back burner, he'd say hearing his parents reenact chapter 21 of the book they're currently reading at his mom's bookclub. So it's only fair to go to the library to complain about it to the person who picked Stormy Pleasures.

Sloane Rickman is the librarian wearing clothes with dinosaurs on it. She's the newcomer who wants to put down roots and make friends after a life spent following her parents everywhere and never fitting anywhere. She feels welcome in Kissing Creek and likes to propose different genre for the Believe in Your Shelf bookclub. But the erotic romance she chose this time gets her in trouble with the professional athlete recovering in his hometown. It doesn't stop him from helping her plan the Halloween parade.

Should I talk about the ilama ?

It was good to be back in Kissing Creek for a second time! I loved Sloane and Ryan as individuals and they were amazing together. Not the first time I say this (won't probably be the last) but I adore this author's writing style. I can really feel the heart of her characters. And I'm please that this novel was set in Fall.

The town's golden boy is back after suffering an injury and is shocked to find out that their parents still get it on. Pissed of having to hear them every night, he goes to confront the town's librarian and the person responsible for suggesting a steamy romance for their book club. Sloane is nothing like the librarian he had in mind, in fact - she is young, cute, and has a funny and strong personality. Their verbal exchange is what makes the story so funny! At first, Ryan comes out as a prude all the while Sloane is open with her sexuality, but as the book progresses we are shown that Ryan is not a prude at all.

The dynamic between both characters is sweet! They go from enemies to friends to lovers. Eventually, we are shown that Sloane is ready to settle down and get some roots down (something she lacked as a child due to her mother's work). Ryan is also ready to settle down and with his injury, he notices that he is getting older and wiser - Sloane and Ryan make a cute and quirky couple.

Sloane and Ryan are my new favorite couple. The friends to lovers trope is one of my favorites and kissing games by Stefanie London is just that. The couple's chemistry and banter is palpable. This is definitely a must-read if you need a light, easy rom-com.

Read if you love: sports, easy romance, witty banter

While rehabbing a torn ACL that's taken him away from his baseball career, Ryan's come back home to his family. His parents have been showing their enthusiastic support of their book club's new read, and it's driving him out of his mind listening to them. Then he walks into the quirkiest, most annoying woman named Sloane, and suddenly his hometown is looking more and more interesting. But, he won't be home forever, so if he and Sloane start something, she needs to understand that it's without strings and no feelings can be involved. No problem, a rehab fling is just what he needs - if only his heart, and Sloane's, agreed.

Sloane's moved from place to place all over the world thanks to her parents, but thinks she's finally found a place she can settle down and call home. She has a great job as a librarian, she's bought a cute house, and the people here have welcomed her, even if she doesn't have any close friends yet. Then a gorgeous guy waltzes into her library and there's chemistry right away between them. At first it's the antagonistic kind, but as they start to work together on a town project, she can't help but fall for Ryan, even knowing he won't be around for much longer. She will just have to accept he's leaving soon and have her fun while it lasts. A fling is just what she needs...

The way Sloane and Ryan met was hilarious, and I love that Sloane did not back down when he grumped at her for his discomfort thanks to her book club suggestion that had his parents re-enacting all the scenes. Their chemistry was obvious from their first page, there was lots of witty snark, and I loved how adorably quirky and sweet Sloane was. Ryan was perfect for her, and I was cheering them on as they fell so hard for each other.

This was a cute, fun, and light read!

It was set in a small town with an awesome and entertaining group of supporting characters. There is something about small-town romances that make me feel warm and fuzzy when reading. It makes me happy when the leads are surrounded by kind, loving, and funny people.

The way Ryan and Sloane got to know each other because of the *coughs* ramifications of a steamy book was so unique and amusing, though it caused a bit of a rift between them upon meeting. However, they had this undeniable tension and attraction between them right from the start veiled with exchanges of sarcasm and provocation. Their banters were so funny and entertaining albeit having stereotypes against each other which they quickly set straight when they got closer. Sloane was a lovely and kind woman who was looking for somewhere to belong. It was sad how she felt like she didn't fit in with anyone or anywhere, always being left out. That's why I felt happy for her when she finally found her people with the kind help of Ryan—how he shared his people with her. Ryan was described as grumpy in this book, but I didn't really feel like he was. He was gentle and playful amidst the verbal battles he had with Sloane. They were so cute together, but personally, I wished I could have seen more of them being friends, dancing around the tension between them. It's just me and my love for slow burns lol.

This was a story of two people finding somewhere to belong—Sloane, after spending all of her life going places in search of it, and Ryan, for a life outside baseball which had always been his whole life. It was heartwarming how they found it in each other—a friend, a lover, and a home.

Thank you to the author and the publisher, Entangled Publishing LLC, for letting me read an ARC of this great book through NetGalley!!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Maybe you should ask her if she knows about chapter twenty-one”

“But no one criticised her book club picks and got away with it”

“This five-foot-nothing, dinosaur-wearing, ponytail-flipping librarian was giving him shit about his sex life?”

I absolutely loved this book!!!
I needed a good romance and it just delivered perfectly !!!
A romance between a former baseball player, temporarily retired for injury, and a librarian who runs an adult book club, with a very spicy suggestion for the October month ???
Loved it!!! Absolutely !!! Couldn’t even stop reading it !!!
There is enemies to lovers, forced proximity, banter, a lot of sexual tension and even the grumpy sunshine trope !!!
Sloane and Ryan meet every request and I’m so glad I had the chance to read their story !!!
But it’s not just about their spicy relationship !!!!
This book is also about commitment, about priorities and about discovering one’s self.
This story is about creating a life that both meets your goals and the ones of the person you want to share that same life with.
Our main characters both started from different points and they were miraculously pushed together by fate or destiny or simply because at the end they both needed that same one thing … affection, being open and vulnerable with someone else.
It is the second book in a series but there’s no need to read the first one before!!!
Even though you absolutely should because this stories are great !!!!!

“If Sloane Rickman wanted a challenge, then a challenge he was going to bring her”

“She was a force. A tiny rainbow hurricane who’d mow down everything in her path”

“He’d had a taste of Sloane, and now he wanted more”

Ryan Bower is back in his hometown staying with his parents while he recovers from an injury. He is a pitcher for a MLB team in Toronto, 6'5" and very handsome. He comes home to be stuck in a house with his very frisky parents and no kid wants to overhear that no matter how old they are and how much you understand healthy relationships lol.
He stumbles on a romance novel that has the library branch and name after he overhears them mention the book as he sneaks past their door to leave. Going to confront this librarian he did not expect to find an adorable, lively, dinosaur print wearing young woman. After they have some words where they don't back down. She dares him to read the book. Well this book is 🔥🔥🔥I really hope there's a Chapter 21 that we can read cause what happens in that chapter lol.
Sloane Rickman has only been in town for a few years and doesn't have any close friends her age. After her run in with Ryan and some Google searches she decides to try a list of how to make a friend on him (close proximity alert). She's so adorable and it's also sad since her mother's job never stopped her family moving ever year she never had the chance to make a friend long term. So the ending of her parents relationship due to her mother's demanding job is something she holds on to.
The chemistry between Ryan and Sloane once they started to work together for the Halloween parade was 🔥🔥. Buddy reading that spicy book may have added fuel to the fire.

But when things start to get serious will Sloane who's finally found a place she can set down roots hold on or will she follow the guy that has the demanding job that might uproot her?

These two were so cute and hilarious! And there's a pesky llama. The romance novel got all the older couples in the town all glowing and the kids blushing. The obligatory , well where do you think you came from, comments were made. Lol .

Totally recommend

"Wanting you is inevitable."

Kissing Games is a fast and fun romance set in the small town of Kissing Creek. It follows hometown hero, Ryan Bower, a pro-baseballer who's in town recovering from a season-ending injury. He instantly clashes with the town's quirky librarian, Sloane. They both want different things in life: Ryan, to continue playing ball in Toronto, and Sloane, to settle into small-town life and create a home. But they can't deny their attraction...

The thing I loved most about Kissing Games was the banter between Ryan and Sloane. From the get-go the pair were at a verbal battle, throwing witty insults and flirty remarks left and right. I loved the back and forth and the banter just made their chemistry so much more apparent (as did a few steamy scenes).

I also loved both Ryan and Sloane. Ryan was a total charmer and I loved his confidence. Meanwhile, Sloane was sharp-witted and charismatic, with a vulnerable side that shone through when she was with Ryan. Ryan called her "a rainbow tornado of a woman with a tongue like a razor blade", which is very accurate 😂.

Kissing Games wasn't without its depth either, as it had a strong focus on family, finding home and making friends as an adult, which I can 100% relate to. Coupled with a great cast of supporting characters, I highly recommend checking out this wonderful romance by Stefanie London.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for this honest review.

4.5 stars!

It all started with Chapter 21, if you know, you know (;

It starts with our golden boy Ryan, a recovering baseball player and Sloane, a quirky librarian with an unhealthy obsession with dinosaurs. Both get on a rocky start but soon their conversations turn into bantering or should I say flirting??? A.K.A SEXUAL TENSION!!! Please if this book gave anything, it was the chemistry between these two characters. I would scream and squeal whenever they started bantering which would shift to flirting, sorry for the repetition but this shit had me on a chokehold. This book definitely had some of the grumpy x sunshine trope and I can honestly say that I enjoyed this book to the very end.

So a llama walks into a library... sounds like the start of a funny joke right? Well it was how this novel started and did I find it funny? More like hilarious!

Sloane is a librarian (Can we say dream job?) who has created a life for herself in Kissing Creek. A life that is all about setting down roots and nurturing relationships, something she didn't have growing up.

Ryan is a major league baseball player, out of the season due to injury. His family lives in Kissing Creek and he is using them as a distraction instead of wallowing in self pity. He is incredibly driven and his job is everything.

These two bond over a scandalous steamy book, of all things and their relationship grows from there. This read was really cute and I had a smile plastered on my face for the entire read!

What's to like:
❣Sunshine/Grumpy
❣Slight nods to a sports romance
❣Small town romance
❣Some spice
❣ Happily Ever after (what more could you want?)

Apparently this is a series, but I read it as a standalone and I didn't feel like I had missed anything major in the previous book. First Stefanie London book and id be happy to go back for more. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Kissing Games is the 2nd book in the Kissing Creek series and it was a light hearted and entertaining read. This small town/grump sunshine/ romantic comedy gave us two likable main characters Sloane and Ryan, the town librarian and the major league baseball player, who had an amusing meet cute and then ended up bonding while building a float. They had great chemistry and I loved their back and forth banter. The witty insults and flirty remarks made their chemistry so much more obvious. There was a great cast of secondary characters who provided great hilarity and helped to move the novel forward. This is a story that shows sometimes you can have everything you dream off and it still might not be enough without the right person to share it with. Its about family, love, finding home and making friends. I enjoyed this tale and would recommend it to lovers of small town romance.

This is a cute, quick read. I adored the characters and Kissing Creek is such a fun place to visit.
The only reasons it’s losing half a star is because there were quite a few sentences that needed that extra word in it for my brain to understand (ex. He pressed his lips hers. Took my brain a moment to realize it read that instead of “He pressed his lips [to] hers”). The other reason was Sloane’s hang up about how her family was like this so it could never work for her. I mean that scene was a double ouch and I think it might be worse than the episode in F.R.I.E.N.D.S when Ross confesses his feelings to Emily (yeah it was that level ouch).
Other than that I wanted to stay in the book and it helped me get out of a book slump.
Definitely recommend if you are in your small town or sports romance era ☺️

This was such a cute read! This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it definitely won’t be the last.

I really liked the main characters. Sloane was smart, independent, and feisty. Ryan was caring and funny. Together they were 🔥.

I felt so bad for Sloane because her family was the worst. However, I liked seeing that Sloane didn’t spend the entire time feeling sorry for herself. The dual POV was also great; I love to hear men’s thoughts when they’re written by women. 😂

This is a great option if you like:

✔️ enemies to lovers
✔️ small town romance
✔️ flirty banter
✔️ athlete as a main character
✔️dinosaurs

Sloan is a small town librarian leading the local book club when she meets one of the members sons, a recently injured pro baseball player, Ryan. Thanks to the monthly book club pick, a steamy romance novel, things heat up in and outside of the bedroom.

This is a perfectly spicy rom-com with humor and well thought out realistic characters. I have not read the first book in this series, but this one was quite enjoyable as a standalone. I will definitely be going back to read the first one. I would recommend this book for someone looking for a light, fun and flirty read with witty banter and laugh out loud moments.

Loved this rom com! Sloane and Ryan strike up unlikely friendship that turns into so much more. Ryan has returned home to nurse a baseball injury when he meets librarian, Sloane. Sloane has made Kissing Creek her new home and does not plan on leaving any time soon, even though her heart tells her to follow major league pitcher, Ryan.

Loved the banter between these two, had me laughing through out the story. Loved the emotions of the importance of family and friends. Enjoyed the guest appearance of Lillie the llama. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone.

I really wanted to enjoy this title, it sounded fun and I love small town stories as well as sports romances.

I liked the characters, I liked the setting, I liked the story...but I never really believed in the attraction between Ryan and Sloane. And, that's an issue. No matter how much you like the rest of a book, if you don't feel a connection with the characters, or really feel invested in their story, it's hard to say you enjoyed the book.

I am not able to recommend this title.

This book was ok. I ended up skimming it because it was a Halloween centric book and I was actually surprised to find that out. I'm a mood reader and have a hard time reading holiday books when it isn't the holiday season.

It did finally pick up though and I did finally get into the middle and ending part a bit more.

It was a two star rating. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing chance to read and review.

I really like this series, but I was hoping it was Audrey’s bff from book one. This story was really cute though.

Review: If you haven’t laid your hands on the book yet, here’s your clue to stop reading. This review has spoilers.

When I finished the book and finally marked it as read on my Goodreads, I was thinking of how I’d justify the rating. I clicked on 5-star, then hesitated. Was I overrating the book? I gave it a four and was about to press submit when I wondered, what made me hit four? Was it the plot? No. The characters? No. The setting? No. The ending? No. It was just a petty fear of overrating. I say, screw it!

I adore Sloane and Ryan, but there’s some part of me that wants to know Mark and Mandy’s story too. Anyway, the task at hand, the book is incredible! Sloane is a strong, independent woman and even with no skill of making friends, she doesn’t let on how lonely she is. I understand, being a person of the same sort, that it’s bad for you in the long run if you can’t communicate and feel restless when sharing your feelings, but it takes a lot of courage to put on the cheery front, especially for someone with so much baggage.

Ryan, I believe, is a strong candidate too. A part of me was proud and elated when he realized his coach was giving up on something too important and learned his lesson to go back, but there was a stronger part that wished he’d told all that to his coach. He probably would’ve ignored him, or maybe paid heed, but people tend to wonder about observations other people make about them, and Ryan could’ve been a saving grace for his coach’s marriage.

When Sloane’s father uninvited her, a part of me thought it was a dick move, yet another part of me resonated with Sloane. Not with my parents but about the sense of belonging. Am I sure I feel like I belong? No, I’m sure I feel like I can never belong and more than anything else, my personal experiences made me love Sloane the most. We aren’t very similar circumstance-wise, but we’re similar in ways more than I can describe.

I haven’t read the first book in the series yet, but I’m sure I’m going to read it very soon!

I always find Stefanie London's books to be fun reads. Kissing Games was a great way to get away in a book. I enjoyed the characters, the positivity and the sweet love story.

Sloane is really shaking up the traditional book club. She's picked a racy romance novel and many are shocked but many are very into the book. Ryan is disgusted how into the book his parents are and marches down to the library to tell off the errant librarian. The sparks fly even as they argue. She has no clue that Ryan is a huge success in major league baseball. It's refreshing to Ryan to not be pandered to. He also likes that Sloane is no push over. Even rehabbing his knee Ryan can't get out of helping Sloane and others build a float for the upcoming parade. The activity brings them closer and they're falling hard. Fast. But can Sloane, who finally feels she's found her home, make a life with a celebrity pitcher? Can Ryan anchor his life back in his hometown? You'll have to read it to see.

These two are just nice people. They're good to each other despite a few missteps. Ryan's parent are great. His brothers loving and supportive. The immediately made Sloane feel so comfortable. It was heartwarming and touching.

Thanks to Grey's PR, the author and Entangled:Amara for the ARC.
