Another short and sweet story in this series about a sexy soldier and the little sister of his best friend. But once she bids on him at the bachelor auction, he sees just how NOT-so-little she is anymore. She’s all grown up and it’s not easy for him to stay away.

Brody didn’t even want to be on the auction block, but since it’s for Mama Mae and also for a good cause, he can’t say no. And he’s very glad he agreed to do it when he finds out who the secret bidder is.

This has just the right amount of everything to make this quick read enjoyable. More insta-love goodness and sweetness and characters who are easy to love.

A short little tale which was cute enough. I mean I picked it up because the cover was so 90s that I was amused. Plus this was short enough to read over my lunch break so that was good.

The plot is pretty predictable and nothing different. But the writing was cute - even if there was a few too many mention of how sweat the heroine skin / scent / other parts were. The author is obviously a desert fan 😂😂

I will say that the author jumped to an HEA just a little too fast. We could have gotten an epilogue which promised an HEA instead of the rush job we did get. But it was fine so I gave it a pass.

Brody and Samantha’s road to a HEA started when she met him as a child. I love these kinds of sweet stories. Even though it’s sweet, there is plenty of spice. Great storyline, smexy NSFW scenes and an adorable HEA. Loved it!

It was always destiny they would be together....he just needed to catch up to it

Brody is the third book in the One Night series and this time it is with a Soldier. Brody Nelson has just come home to Broken Bend, Texas to celebrate Mama Mae's retirement. He is one of the boys that Mama Mae fostered and helped make him what he is. When he graduated high school he went into the Army and that is where he has been for the last ten years. Currently he is in Germany working with the dogs. When he helps Mama Mae into the high school gym where the party is he sees woman walking toward them, literally an angel. That angel turns out to be Samantha Reynolds, his best friend Scotty's younger sister. She is no longer the scrawny little girl as he has grown up really well. Samantha is a vet tech at the animal clinic in Broken Bend. Her best friend Eliza, her and Grant's story is the first book, is the Assistant Executive Director at Pups for Progress, a no kill shelter that rehabilitates dogs and works with troubled youth. So Samantha also volunteers with the program helping to work with the dogs. The thing is that Samantha has has been in love with Brody even before she knew what it was. She always had a feeling deep down that she and Brody were meant to be together. Now that Brody is home it seems he has finally caught up with the same feeling. But Brody is one of the man who will be auctioned off to raise funds for Pups. Samantha does not want someone else to buy him, but she can't bid on him herself as everyone in town will gossip about it. So she asks Mama Mae to be a someone's proxy and bid for them. Mama Mae knows that she is bidding for Samantha and she has to win and put these two together.

I am enjoying this series and all the different man that Mama Mae raised, who are all "brothers" as they are family. This story is entertaining and light hearted. Brody is a complicated character as he thinks he does not deserve to be loved by anyone because of his family and where he came from, he is not good enough. Then add in his attraction and desire for Samantha, a sailboat and some skinny dipping and things are getting really complicated. Samantha just wants one night to be with Brody so that she knows what it would be like. She thinks she cannot be with him openly because it would get back to Scotty and then all heck would break loose. She is a little temptress with Brody to break his walls does. With the first crack everything comes down and Brody knows that Samantha is his and he is hers. But how do they make it happen.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Brody, a soldier who returned to his home town for his foster mother's retirement party. Mama Mae decided to have an auction fundraiser for the program she ran for troubled boys and stray dogs. Brody was being auctioned off and his best friend's sister Samantha decided to bid on him. Samantha always had a crush on Brody and now she saw a chance to see if he felt the same way. Brody was surprised at how beautiful Samantha was now and he wanted her, but he knew she was off limits because of her brother. I liked this book, I like how Samantha took control and went after what she wanted. Brody was a good guy who really tried to respect her brother, but his feelings won out. Another good one in this series.

This is a well-written, short, can't-put-down romance that will definitely heat up what's left of your summer!

Brody is a hot and steamy fast read that will have you melting in seat while opening your heart to love. Brody has returned to town to for his mother's retirement party/ fundraiser for the animal shelter she built up over the years. Part of the fundraiser is an auction that Brody and his brother's have been roped into participating in. Sam loves helping at the shelter, and has had a crush on Brody since she was eight. When he went up, she wanted to bid, but did not want everyone in the town to know, especially her brother.

This is a fun tale to get lost in. Now that Sam is older, she is going to get what she wants, even if it is just for a night. Brody is torn with his feeling and his friendship with Sam's brother. I love the intensity of Brody's desire and passion he has for Sam, it will cause the pages to go up in flames.

I kind of loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable while still being oh so sweet and hot. The characters were interesting and likable. Mama Mae was absolutely wonderful. She is totally who I want to be when I grow up. Brody thought he was too broken or damaged to ever have a real relationship other than his chosen family of Mama Mae and his foster brother's. While visiting Mama Mae he ran into a beautiful woman that took his breath away. Brody was shocked to find out that the woman was Samantha (Sam), his best friend's little sister. Samantha was both surprised and excited to see Brody again. She had a crush on him when she was younger and had always wondered what would happen if she could just get him to see her as a woman. Little did either of them know that an auction would give them a reason to take a chance. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

When he arrives he is dumbstruck by the appearance of Samantha, his best friend's little sister, whom he hasn't seen in a number of years. Samantha has always had a crush on Brody, despite his friendship with her brother, and decides to bid on him at the auction to go on a real date with him and see what might happen between them. Despite his attraction to Samantha, Brody is desperate to deny his feelings because of his friendship with her brother. Their HEA is a long time coming but so delightfully sweet.

This was a terrific brother’s best friend romance with two wonderful characters. It’s short and steamy with plenty of feels!

Samantha has been in love with Brody forever. When he’s back in town on leave from the military, she takes a chance to get him out of her system. After volunteering to take part in a bachelor auction to support a local charity, Brody doesn’t expect the winner of his date to be Sam. With a rough childhood, and a military career, he doesn’t feel like he has much to offer her, but Sam is ready to show him how much love he has to give.

I absolutely adored Brody by Eve London. it was well written and had me cheering for Samantha and Brody. Brody is home for Mama Mae's retirement. She took him in a foster son and she is the only woman he has really ever loved. His world is rocked when he sees Samantha, his best buddy's little sister. She is definitely not the gawky teenager he remembers. And when he agrees to participate in a Batchelor auction for charity, Samantha is determined to use this chance to get her crush for Brody out of her system. Or will this be just the beginning?

This was a great short read. The attraction between Samantha and Brody is hot and off the charts.
Samantha was a temptation Brody could no longer ignore or deny, for that one night she belonged to him. But before Brody knew it, he change his mind fron one night to forever.
Samantha has had the biggest crush on her brothers best friend since she was little. Now she is an adult and she sees Brody again, she finally decides to make a move and do something about it.

What a fun series of all these brothers finding their one while being up for auction in support of a great cause. This is Brody and Samantha’s storyline of falling for his best friends little sister. Book three in this series. Brody is home for Momma Mae’s retirement and fundraiser. He’s somehow been roped in to being part of the auction fundraiser. Samantha has always had a secret crush on her brother’s best friend. It may finally be time to act on her crush and see what happens. This was a quick read with an engaging storyline. The characters have known each other for years. Brody has always had the feeling he wasn’t good enough and wasn’t able to love anyone. Sam knew deep down that Brody was worth it and went out of her way to make him see how awesome he really was. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The female lead, Samantha, has had a crush on the male lead, Brody, since they were teens. Brody had returned the sentiment but would never have acted upon it because she is his best friend’s little sister. When Samantha buys him at the bachelor auction, she forces him to really evaluate his feelings and they build a relationship.

This short story was dual POV, well written, and the relationship, whilst fast developing, was passionate and engaged and based on long term knowledge of each other. I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Fabulous, I absolutely love this one. It was a nice, quick, short read.

Brody and Samatha have known each other since she was little. He was Sam’s brother’s best friend, so she’s off limits. Brody enlisted in the army and has spent the last ten years serving overseas. He comes back to Broken Bend with some time off for Mama Mae’s retirement party. When Brody is introduced to Sam by Mama Mae he can’t believe his best friends little sister is all grown up. Samatha goes off to help Eliza get the dogs ready to be walked out with the bachelors. One dog is afraid of men so Sam spends extra time with him. Owen sees she needs help and offers but just scares the dog. So Owen calls Brody over since he works with dogs in the army. She tells him if he wants to work with Justice, the dog to go right ahead. She has other dogs she needs to take care of. Brody works patiently with Justice and gets him to come out of his cage. It’s time for Brody to go out on stage so he walks Justice out with him. Samatha wants to bid on Brody but she doesn’t want it getting back to her brother, Scotty. So Sam finds Mama Mae and asks her to bid on him for a mystery bidder who wants to remain anonymous. So she agrees to do it, but her highest bid is one thousand dollars. Mama Mae doesn’t do any bidding and there is a bidding war going on between two woman. Brody’s not paying attention to the bidding he’s more concerned about Justice. Until Mama Mae raised her hand and bids thirteen fifty. Brody stands and says she can’t do that, Owen tells him she can. The bid is sold to Mama Mae, but its over Samatha price. Mama Mae tells Sam she will cover what the bidder can’t and tells her and Brody they have a few things they need to talk about. Sam takes Justice from Brody and they both head outside. After a few moments of hesitation she tells him it was her that bid but she went over her budget and he’s off the hook. He can’t believe she bid on him. She tells him she though it would be a chance for them to get to know each other. He cups her check then kisses her, then pulls back and tells her he is sorry. She cuts him off and goes on her tiptoes and kisses him back. Brody knows he needs to stop, but then something gets between them so they pull apart to find Justice. Moments later Owen opens the door and ask if Brody will take over for him, he tells him he is a little busy. So Owen walks off, Sam thanks him for his help tonight. Brody asks Sam if she is sure she wants to go through with the date, and she tells him yes. She tells him she wants to keep this quiet and go to the next town over. He tells her he’ll come up with something. Sam meets Brody in the parking lot to the marina, he helps her get out of her car. Brody leads her to a sailboat and helps her on. She asks him if he needs help he tells her he’s got it. After they are out in the open lake he asks her to come and help with the rudder while he raises the sail. After he puts the anchor in she asks him if he’s going to kiss he again. He tells her she is beautiful woman but she is Scotty’s little sister. She tells him she can handle her brother. He tells her he is leaving in less than a week. She starts to unbutton her blouse, he tells her this isn’t a good idea. She tells him it’s not a good idea its a great idea. She asks him if he’d like to go for a dip. When he turns to tells her she can go down under and change he hears a loud splash he see a large pile of her clothes on the bench. She tells him to come in and he sees her shoulder are bare. Brody goes back and forth on if he should get in the water or wait until she comes out. He undress and jumps in with her going under water he grabs her foot and pull her towards him. He tells her she shouldn’t start something she doesn’t plan on finishing. She asks him why he thinks she’s not going to finish. He tells her to get back on the boat. She ask him what if she doesn’t. He tells her they’ll both be sorry. She tells him she won’t be. She asks him what he’s so afraid of. He tells her he not afraid he just doesn’t want her to regret this. She tells him there is nothing he can say to make her change her mind, she wants him. She asks him to make love to her and he tells her he’s not capable of love. He will fuck her so hard she can’t walk straight for week. She tells him she wants to take him up on that offer. He tells her to get on the boat. He takes her down below the deck where there is a bed. When she towels off he takes it from her. He backs her until her legs are against the bed. He lays her down and spreads her legs and leans down to get a taste of her in the back of his mind he hears a voice say mine. He plunges inside her, her hips bucked up and her hands go to his hair. As he pushes his tongue deep inside her he hears the voice again this time louder MINE. Sam gasps as he pushes into her, and shifted her hips. He pumped into her harder switching the angle. Her orgasm rolls over her, she can’t do anything to stop it. Then he let himself go, as his body tensed. He tells her he is just getting started. She tells him she needs something to eat if they’re going to continue. He gets out of bed and grabs the picnic basket he brought. They feed each other forkfuls of stuff he picked up at the deli. He opened up to her, she knew about his life with Mama Mae, but he told her about his dad. There was no judgment from her, she held him. Now that he found her he didn’t want to give her up. Sam asks him if he weren’t leaving and they didn’t have to worry about her brother where would he want them to go from here. He asks her to come to Germany with him. She asks him how she will work. He tells her he has connection and they’ll find her a job. He asks her what she wants, she asks him if he is serious. She tells him yes she’ll go with him. Two years later, they were married three days after their date. When they got back from their night on the boat they filed for a marriage license. Scotty comes to pick them up thrilled to be back stateside again. Brody was giving the assignment to work with canine training at a local base. Sam is six month pregnant she is going to stay home until after the baby is born. Then she’ll decide if she wants to go back to work. They find her brothers truck they haven’t seen each other since before the wedding. When he pulls up they see Justice in the truck with Scotty. Mama Mae said he failed out of the program and is hoping they can take him, Sam says of course. Scotty walks up to Brody and tells him he should kick his ass into next week. Brody tells him he can try, but Scotty tells him they are brothers now. Brody asks Sam if she is ready to go, she says yes let’s go home.

Small issues with plot holes again but okay

It was okay. Like with Owen, there was some plot holes & timeline issues but not as glaringly bad as in Owen. I don't get it. These are a fast read so even if they are written months apart, she could easily reread it or idk have someone read it for errors that remember the last book. This one wasn't so bad with that though. One thing that had me smh at was he waz made out to seem like he intended to keep his hands off her & not do anything with her on the boat. However, he brought condoms?!?! While I appreciate that the writer was promoting safe sex, if he had no intention of sleeping with her, why stash condoms on the boat before they left?! That's something that bothers me cause don't pretend he didn't intend to sleep with her if he brought condoms onto the boat.

Another good book in Mamma Mae's boys seeries

It was nice reading about Mamma Mae's boys and Brody's love story with Samantha is really good. Brody felt he couldn't love anyone after the upbringing he endured. Once he came to live with Mamma Mae and his brothers he felt part of being a family. He still didn't feel worthy of love. His best friend growing up had a little sister. Once he graduated he joined the service and was gone for ten years. When he returned home on leave, Samantha had grown up. Read how both their lives changed. It's a good story, I enjoyed it and hope you will too. Written by Cindy :)

We Got What…

… and to be fair, we got “so what?” and “now what?”, a little… but not really in any kind of arc associated with a romantic journey. Brody is home from the military and Samantha is the hometown girl he never noticed before. The story is complicated by extraneous plot points that don’t get follow-up, but there’s hardly anything to keep these two apart at all, so not a ton of room for growth.

I love how the books are all standalones but intertwine on that one auction night. It makes for good binge reading and is almost like a Love Actually kind of situation where you have a few love stories going on at the same time. I also like that they're quite short so you can squeeze some reading into your day, but short doesn't mean it doesn't have the feels. I'm amazed at Ms London's writing! LOVE!

Also, Brody is my favourite from this auction night, but Lionel is my overall favourite.

I liked seeing Sam and Brody interact and finding out about their history. They had believable connection and chemistry and were strong characters. Love the dogs and Mama Mae, I'm looking forward to reading more from this series.

Novellas are too short to rate as anything other than a writing sample. The whole character having a problem(like commitment issues/childhood crap) and then them magically deciding they're done with it/them, drives me nuts.

In a short template like this, it's silly/fine/what do you expect. So whatever. In a real book(250+ pages) it's not gonna be for me.

Quick brother/best friend romance between Samantha who had a teenage crush on Brody her brother’s best friend growing up. Brody is on leave from the military to attend his foster mom’s retirement party and the story unfolds from there. There was enough plot to keep me engaged and Samantha’s character is sweet.

This book was really cute!!! I love the fact that Brody tried everything to respect his best friend and not mess with Samantha!!!! I found it hilarious that she wasn’t having any of it and went and got what she wanted lol
