While I'm not a mom, I am the father of three boys and so much of the great advice contained in the book is universal. This is meant to be a quick-read with digestible, actionable tips parents can take immediately. I also like the reflections at the end of chapters with helpful questions that make it easier to start quality conversations with boys. As a parent to a 13-year-old who is currently going through all the things, this is what I needed right now. Especially like the focus on consent, sexuality, porn use, etc. Those are tough topics but necessary ones and we can't afford to shy away from them.
Overall I'd highly recommend to all parents of boys!
A well-written, positive, practical, insightful book for anyone with boys in their life. Nothing is shied away from in terms of real topics and relatable examples; offered with a sense of humor and humility, resources for areas of additional interest, support; from an author mom who's exceptionally qualified to write this. Great job!
I really appreciated this book because it reinforced that I am already doing a lot of things right with my son, while giving me a preview of the territory we are about to enter into. The advice is practical and feels possible to implement. I’ll be keeping a copy by my bed to reference when these situations inevitably arise.
